Property Ratings at The Meadows Apartments
On move-in day, I walked in to a pile of construction waste(screws/nails, wood chips, etc.) in the kitchen, large amounts of human hair/other hazardous waste in the bathroom, and the previous tenants dishes still in the dishwasher. I reported all this in person to the front office at 2 p.m., and was told that cleaning wouldn't be available until noon tomorrow. No additional recompense of any kind was offered for this gross negligence. Upper management has been elusive and overall non-receptive to my concerns. Avoid Axiom at all costs.

We are sorry to hear that your move-in did not go as smoothly as we would have hoped. Our residents are our top priority and we are sad to learn that you had this first impression upon moving in. We value your feedback and assure you we will be happy to resolve any concerns you have. Please reach out to our manager directly by calling or visiting the leasing center. We are here to help. Thank you for being patient despite your frustrations.
The first 2 years of living at the Meadows was ok. Everything went downhill the next 2 years of residing at the Meadows due to the management property leasing out to tenants that violated the city noise ordinance laws. The disturbances occurred at all hours of the night with loud stomping, dropping heavy objects on the floor, the use of a stripper pole, constant arguments, physical fights, large crowds of people in and out of the apartment complex, smoking weed and drinking in the hallways, and loud music playing from 10pm-5am - the hallways constantly reeked of weed and the environment was dirty. I was constantly told to call the police and that warning letters would be placed on the tenants door. Nothing happened. When I would communicate with the property manager, the communication was poor and condescending. Please don't ever consider moving there. When communicating my dissatisfaction with the management property upon not renewing the lease, my concerns were not responded to. Please do not consider living there. If you have concerns, they will not be adequately addressed. Your concerns will not considered.

My roommates and I live here and I would not recommend this place. We had a pretty clear ventilation problem in our bathroom which caused yellow/brown droplet spots on our ceiling. When I first put in a maintenance request they came in and said the vent was fine. As time went on the the droplets got worse. It got to the point that the paint on the ceiling started to bubble and drupe down from the moisture. I spent nearly a month after reporting the bubble in the ceiling expressing my concern about the ventilation to the leasing office, even going as far as to have a meeting with the property manager. He said that the building was old and that is just how the vents are. I don't think I would be so upset about the situation but management tried to gaslight me several times into believing the ventilation was fine when they clearly knew it was not effective. They even sent me an article about mineral deposits. I then asked if they were going to install the things the article recommended to fix mineral deposits and the said there was no reason to. To go along with this, when we put in maintenance requests they would not tell us when they were going to come into our apartment. When I brought this up to the leasing office they said by selecting yes to the "Permission to Enter" section of the maintenance request that gave them the right to enter any time, which was often several weeks after the request was put in. Apparently that prompt surpasses the law saying they need to give you at least 12 hours notice before entering your apartment.
These apartments have great, attentive staff, prompt and friendly maintenance, quiet neighbors, and neighborhood. We feel safe here. As I said our family has lived here for 5+ years and going strong! Keep up the great work!
I came to The Meadows to sublet my friend's apartment after he moved away. Within my first week of living there I had loved it so much I got the lease renewed for another year in my name. My apartment is huge and good for entertaining my friends, whom I have over for dinner every week. I also like the location. I don't like living downtown so the east side was good for me. It's a nice neighborhood to take a walk in. All my neighbors in the building are friendly. My favorite part: HUGE closet in the bedroom.

We're thrilled to see your wonderful review of The Meadows! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing feedback with our team!
I rented for 1 year, 1 bedroom apartment. PROS: walk-in closet, maintenance requests eventually fulfilled, friendly staff, neighbors keep to themselves, good size apartment, affordable rent. CONS: BEWARE: Consistent bug problem!!! Staff is extremely unorganized, only 2 washer/dryers for entire building, bad interior paint job & cheap paint used, bad heating in the winter (too hot or too cold, floors aren’t clean behind fridge & stove, heating system, walls & doors look old, patio screen door doesn’t lock after maintenance “fixed” it - I had to continuously fix it myself every couple of weeks.

My stay has been great. I pay a fair price for a nice location. I'm close to my favorite shopping stores and restaurants. My apartment is cozy and spacious.

My family and I moved into The Meadows recently and so far it is a very nice place to live. Any maintenance requests are answered quickly, and they follow up when needed. All the staff is great to work with, I have never had a problem with anyone, they are always friendly and willing to help. The building we are in has had a recent renovation to the outside and because of it we have not had to turn our heat on despite the days in the teens. Overall a nice place to live!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Christine! We're so glad to read about your positive experiences here. We hope you'll continue to let us know if you need any assistance, and as always, have a wonderful day!
I lived here two years ago and unfortunately my roommate situation didn't work out so I ended up moving. I moved in here again in August and once again I absolutely love it. They've made some redid one of the pools, and have redone the outside of some of the buildings. The new look is very appealing and I assume they intend to finish the rest in the warmer months. The office staff is very kind and accommodating; Lukas is my favorite! Maintenance is also great, very fast and efficient! Christian is the best maintenance man we've had, very friendly! I was very disappointed that since moving in we've had our water shut off for long periods of time five times. I do understand however, that there was a pipe issue in the ground of which was dug up and replaced. Haven't had an issue with water being shut off since. I love that this apartment is pet friendly and the neighbors are pretty decent. Also very affordable bills! I highly recommend these apartments!
Leased for 3yrs, maintenance was non-existent for our building, washer/dryer out of order frequently, minimal maintenance done to the apt lived in, even though called the office many times. Visitor parking=VERY small. Didn't have any cable outlets in the bedrooms. Interior not up to date, shabby looking cabnits and counter tops, the paint job done was poor and is spotty in the bathrooms, could see had painted over edging tape, there may be spliced outlets connecting rooms and can overload fuse box if to many watts used at once. They may update after moved. As for a 4 bdrm apt they count the den as a bedroom, we also had to move a family member out from the den due to the damp, and suspected mold, they are a severe asthmatic. The staff in the office are poor/average to work with, they seem to be courteous, but a relative heard one get short with someone, didn't know if was a tenant. Tenants keep to themselves, but can be noisy. The rent, in my opinion, is average. The Garbage removal services aren't frequent, and had spill over weekly. Can get a breeze with the smell of garbage in the house from outside. The heat is very poor, was freezing in the house during winter, even with the new windows and patio door are installed. The air conditioner they have isn't sized to the square footage of the apt. Outlets are loose, broken. One sparked and caused a small appliance's plug to melt.
We have lived at the Meadows for over a year. We first subleted a 2 bedroom, and then downgraded to a 1 bedroom. It's very quiet, neighbors pretty much keep to themselves, and trash is picked up almost every other day. Clean space, 2 outdoor pools, and an excericise room. The leasing staff is very helpful and courteous. The only issue I've ever had, was the stricked visitor parking rules. Small space or you're visitors are walking from the street...they do offer visitor stickers- but the local towing company will tow your vehilce without it. They did just upgarde windows and patio doors, giving it a more modern look. I'm happy with my experience at the Meadows.
The Meadows is a place you could call home. No matter the size of the apartment you chose to live in, I’d consider it cozy and livable. There’s plenty of parking as well. My experience here, I’d like to share that it’s been peaceful at times and I’ve had all the privacy I need. The team here is good with maintenance on a timely manner, plus they do get back to me on time. The landlords are quick to react in situations involved in living here. The downfall of living here is, the other tenants may not be as great as to help keep the building clean and not knowing how loud they can be, but it’s just like living anywhere else. Other than that, it’s a great place to live and the location is awesome! -Mai 2057t
Love the size of my apartment. Quiet area. My kids enjoy the pool every summer. Front desk staff is always very polite and helpful. Maintenance issues get fixed in a timely manner.
It's ok for a starter apartment or college apartment. It's not a chateau, poorly insulated, mixed resident base. People keep to themselves (great thing), not really a family complex. Front desk staff are wonderful. They need to upgrade windows and patio doors.
I have only lived here a month and I am quite pleased with it. It is extremely quiet inside the apartment. Office staff do the best they can to help whenever there's a problem that needs to be dealt with. There was absolutely no service in my apartment (T Mobile carrier), but I now use wifi calling, which works just as well as normal calls. The location is quite far from the center of Madison by bus (~30-45min), which is how I travel, bus that is mostly on me for picking it. Aside from the location, it really is a great place to live.
We sublet one of the meadows apt over 7 months ago. We had a couple of horrible experience with this apt that made us regret of renting this apt si kuch that we will never ever rent any apt from them. Once my husband and I traveled outside of the country and we didn't get the invoice before we left. We contacted the leasing office a week before the rent due date and arranged a check to be sent to them by our bank, due to the July 4th holiday, our check was 1 day late and they charged us $35 late fee. The leasing office manager told us "we are too big a company to make any exception for you". Another day my farther in law came to visit us for one night, and the next day his car got towed. We went to the leasing office again and they told us that they let a 3rd party towing company to come and tow cars which don't have a visiter stickers whenever they want. If you want to get your car back, you need to pay $320 per day. My farther in law came to visit us at 10pm that night and the office was closed. The next morning the car was already gone. We didn't even have time to get the visitor sticker! Overall, we are extremely angry with the meadows apt. We will strongly recommend everyone NOT to rent from them. They never want to help you and they cause a lot of inconvenience for the residents there.
The buildings were built in the early 70's... The Meadows idea of a upgrade is paint everything white... They will raise your rent 20.00 every year but you will not see any improvements. They have issues with rodents and bugs. There management staff changes monthly. There is always trouble at the pools and nothing is done to fix the issue. It is a nice location and easy to get to everywhere in Madison from here. If you don't mind overpriced rent and some riff raft, then it a good place to go.
When first moving in the office staff was amazing and helpful asking if there was anything they could fix right away or anything we needed help finding. The neighborhood is great and the people I have met so far are helpful and kind. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone, whether you have kids, just a couple, or all by yourself this is a dream come true apartment!!!
