Property Ratings at The Mercer
The safety issues while living here have been numerous, despite reporting homeless people entering and sleeping in common areas and in front of my own apartment door. There are huge issues with people picking up after their pets, in the garage and stairways. The rent is higher than advertised and will likely have a big jump after your lease renews. I would not recommend living here to anybody. Thin walls and odors from the trash room are also an issue.
I lived here and had an ok experience with the management but when I asked for help due to roommates not paying rent they didn’t even respond. Price is outrageous. They should lower the pricing and maybe they will get people to actually stay and not have to deal with snobby people
I came across the Mercer right at 5:30 and Kirsti let me pop in and take a look at a vacant apartment. She was really helpful and worked around my schedule, which is awesome cause most places are pretty inflexible when it comes to closing hours.
I used to live on the East coast, so easy access to the city is important to me. The location is close to grocery stores, restaurants, the airport, trax, city festivals, you name it. The apartments themselves are updated, open and I love having the washer and dryer right there. The gym access (not to mention great view!!) is awesome in the freezing winters - you can enjoy the snowy city through the big window walls... without having to be in it : ). My contact with property management was great. Kirsti was helpful, warm and professional.
The walls are paper thin, and are so thin; you can hear your neighbor coughing at all hours of the day or night. If you want to watch TV, good luck, because this place is so horribly built, you will get a noise complaint if you do, even if you can barely hear it yourself, your neighbor will hear it. You will always know when the person above you is home, because of the wood floors, all you can hear is them walking around. So good luck trying to enjoy your apartment, because no matter what, it’s so loud, you won’t be able to escape your neighbors in your own apartment. The most enjoyable times for me at The Mercer, is when I wasn’t home, because I couldn’t stand to be home, because this place was so horrible. The people that live here are very rude, and no one is friendly, if you say hi to someone, good luck getting a reply back. That also could be, because most people here don’t speak English. If someone sees you approaching the elevator they will hurry and close it, right as you approach it. Also you could be carrying stuff to your apartment, and hands completely full, good luck getting someone to hold the door open for you. This place is just filled with super rude people, which makes sense, because they’re just like the people that manage this place, rude people. The transition from the old management company to the new one, was absolutely horrible. Things that were agreed upon with the old company are no longer valid with this new company Alliance Residential. The new company, Alliance Residential could care less that the old company made promises, and they will screw you, just like they did me. I feel like I have scammed out of money by this new company, and they probably will scam you too. So all in all, do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague, because if you don’t, I can guarantee, you’ll be the next person leaving a review like this one. You will not enjoy your time here at The Mercer, and that’s a fact. I’d rather be homeless, then experience living here ever again.

I do not recommend living in these apartments, they're horribly built for the price. The floors and wall are paper thin, and you will hear your neighbors 24/7. The manager doesn't care about the appearance of the building, it's so dirty it's disgusting. There are stains all over the carpet on every floor, and it hasn't been cleaned in over what looks like a year. I pay a lot of money to live here, and expect it to be maintained and cleaned, it's so dirty, I'm embarrassed to bring anyone ever, because it's so disgusting. The management used to care about this place, and took pride in their job and building, but not the new manager. I have shopped around, and you can find places that are around the same price, with better amenities then here, on top of them being overpriced and dirty, and always smelling like trash. I feel like I've been ripped off now, where I didn't used to feel that way. A little work would go along ways, but they just don't care. Can't wait until my lease is up, so I can get out of this horrible dirty, noisy, and stinky place.
