Property Ratings at The Metro Apartments
The actual apartments themselves are quite nice. However, the amenities are never in service and everything is constantly under construction. My parking spot has been unavailable for three months and won't be back anytime soon despite management's assurances it would only be gone a month. There has been no reduction in rent or parking fees despite this(I'm paying for a covered spot). You don't get any of the little things from a complex either (Pool and hot tub closed more often than not, Coffee machine doesn't work, Game room is bad etc.) can't keep anything on my deck since it's been under construction off and on for over a year. Inside the apartment is nice, and the maintenance guys are great. Everything else, meh. There's also $200 of hidden fees a month to tack on to high rent. All in all, great location but you don't get what you pay for.

Anonymous, We welcome hearing all feedback as it helps us to improve the quality of living in our community. Since our amenities have reopened after the Covid closure restrictions have ended, they have been down except for when the hot tub necessitated a repair, and we were waiting on a part to arrive. Our pool is closed as of right now due to it being seasonal but the hot top is open year-round. Additionally, we have a game room which included a foosball table, pool table, TVs, and golden tee arcade game. The Metro team has remained transparent in communicating that we do not currently have a hard date on when construction will be completed but sends weekly updates to all residents and keeps the community informed when there is a change of plan or extension of the timeline. Additionally, any resident whose parking spot is under construction has been relocated to a temporary parking assignment. We appreciate everyone's patience as we undergo this project. To best address your concerns, and discuss your experience in further detail, we would like the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please do not hesitate to connect with The Metro office at your earliest convenience at (303) 292-5444. Best regards, The Metro Apartments Management Team
Staff does not work with you at all. Had my car broken into while locked on the third floor and when I was told they would comp the fob replacements they then charged me 100 dollars for it. Cant really say it’s secured parking if literally any person can come in and break into your car and steal everything.

Hello, We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience that you have experienced as our intent is to provide a happy home for all who choose to reside with us. Our residents are our top priority and we would like to speak with you directly about your concerns and invite you to connect with us by email or phone at your earliest availability at metro@secpropres.com… or 303-292-5444. We hope that we're able to make your stay here more comfortable going forward. Kind regards, The Metro Apartments Management Team
The office staff are wonderful! We had a critical health situation and they were SO accommodating in expediting a 2 bedroom apartment relocation. During COVID, they have made every effort to keep the property clean, safe and well maintained.
So glad I moved here! It is in the best part of downtown. You would be surprised that noise isnt really a problem. Love it here

Hi, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us. Thank you so much again for your feedback! We hope you have a great day!
Overall, I've enjoyed living here for almost 2 years. The community is a bit younger in age which is fine, but sometimes it's loud on week nights. I'm disappointed that we haven't received rebates for the lack of access to public amenities due to COVID. I didn't use the pool once this summer. I use the gym daily but haven't used it since it originally closed down due to COVID. I play pool sometimes too and haven't been able to use the game room because it's now the package room due to COVID.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. While we do not charge our resident back for use of the amenities, we share your frustrations as we would love to resume operations as they were prior to the pandemic. There are state and federal guidelines we have to follow to ensure we are doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and with some understanding and cooperation from our amazing residents, we were able to keep the gym, pool, outdoor grilling areas, dog park and package room available to our residents during these challenging times. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional we can do for you.
Great experience so far.
The metro apartments are a good place to live. The location is great, it is near a supermarket and near the heart of downtown. The buildings are kept clean on the outside and in the hallways and the management is good and answer's any questions you have.
All of my interactions with The Metro have been great! This was number one on my list as I was planning to move to Denver and I was heartbroken to find out that all of the studio options had been leased. Maybe a week later I got a call that there was a unit available and I am so grateful the young woman I had been communicating with via email thought of me. She gave me a call and I had my lease signed and my move in date set within a week. I'm so excited to be here!
I have lived at the Metro for almost 3 years. Maintenance is always friendly and very competent.
The move-in process was very smooth and our leasing agent, CC, was very patient and responsive throughout. This is a clean and quiet apartment (yeah, you can hear footsteps upstairs and city noise, but relatively speaking, it's quiet!), nothing too fancy with the latest upgrades, but is pretty nice and we are impressed with the size and layout. We are very happy with choosing The Metro and looking forward to downtown living.
Terrible terrible! Since living here I've had my two bike locks cut off in the "secure" garage and my bike stolen. An incident when homeless men walk the hallways at night. Another homeless incident where there is homeless people actively smoking crack in the "locked" matnience room. How does that happen?!?!? If you want to live in a secure apartment complex and not worry about your apartment, car or anything being broken into, dont live here.

Awesome location, spacious, great amenities, and good pricing. Staff is amazing.
I really like living at the Metro. The location is amazing, and the units are really nice. I absolutely love the bathroom's huge tub, and I love having a dog run in the building. The only downsides are the unit I live in is pretty dark - there's only one window in the main living space, so there's very little natural light. Also the garage doors have gotten stuck open in my building a couple times, and it takes weeks to repair them.
The Metro is a great place to live!
At 5:30 A M I saw a homeless man just wandering the halls for a while. Their doors are always unlocked throughout the whole building and people always break the doors or leave them open for anybody to come and go as they please.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We would like to encourage you to contact our courtesy patrol service as you witness any suspicious activity on the property. Please feel free to contact our office for their contact details at 303-292-5444. We will also have the building entry doors checked as to our knowledge, they have been working properly. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please feel free to reach out to us if we can be of further assistance.
This building has a LOT going for it - young crowd, near baseball stadium, near great bars. Unfortunately I've had a tremendously terrible experience with upper management after being burglarized within a month of moving in! The staff has been anything but helpful - they have been defensive and deflective. In fact - at this point I'm living within 100 feet of the dude on trial for robbing me. Fun!

Hello Joey: In response to the reviews you left yesterday and today, we encourage you to continue to contact our office directly so that we may discuss your ongoing concerns. An email was sent to you this week addressing your questions in detail but we did not receive a response from you. Please feel free to reply to that correspondence or call us with any additional concerns, and we will be happy to provide further clarification as needed. Thank you.
This place has the worst management I have ever seen. They do not care about their residents, only the amount of money they can screw you out of. Problems are ignored and blown off as they do not have time to deal with things that are their job to deal with. You can find much better property, service and value for the money.

Please contact us at (303) 292-5444 when you have an opportunity, and we will be more than happy to try and turn your experience around.
Unsafe apartment complex. Constant garage break-ins, and no security whatsoever. Just look at the crime data before moving in. I was the victim of an aggravated assault in my own hallway. No security cameras, no security guard, no effort to make this a safe environment for tenants. Every week it seems there is a new issue that the police are called for. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. I don't feel safe living here anymore.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at The Metro Apartments.
There is no way the other reviews are legit. This is the most horrible apartment I've ever lived in. The grounds were so dirty it was embarrassing to have guests over. The parking garages had break-ins ever week and the doors were never shut. I didn't have one spot on my carpet and they charged me to replace it. They are truly scam artists.
The Management and Maintenance staff here are truly wonderful people. Danika, the assistant property manager, and the rest of the office staff have been so helpful, kind and understanding throughout my entire experience. They work hard to keep the property running smoothly and try to make each tenant feel like they have been treated fairly and are well taken care of. The maintenance staff also work hard to keep the property clean and up to the resident's standards. The apartments are well rennovated and the amenities are great too. I highly recommend living here!

Hi, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us. You made our day!
These are the best value for the area of any of the apartments hand's down. The location is perfect, the price is right, the neighbors are friendly and they allow sizes of pets. I lived there for 3 years and wanted to try something out of downtown so I moved to Wash Park. After a year, I missed the downtown appeal and started looking for apartments again. I checked out other places that were pet friendly and all one bedroom apartments started at $1400 and up. If they said they were less by the time they added up all the fees(ex: Pet, Parking, W/D, etc) they were above $1400. The leasing staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities and efficient and nice. You are walking distance from all of Lodo and a $6 Uber from anywhere downtown. I read some of the reviews about it being loud but what those people don't realize is that it's going to be a little noisy EVERYWHERE downtown. If you want peace and quite then Nederlands is nice.
Proximity to downtown and i 25 I heard upgraded ones are better. Cheaper compared the other in the neighborhood at least when i moved in. I personally had nothing stolen from my car even though i have seen door locks broken at times. Weekends can get noisy depending on who your neighbours are but that is the case everywhere in downtown. It got frat vibe and younger crowd. Leasing staff (esp Lucas and Danika ) was friendly they accommodated my moving date changes which is really great. Overall my experience was good.

Do not rent from The Metro. My wife and I are halfway through our 12-month lease, and it has been the worst experience with a leasing company I have ever had. As we learned soon after moving in, the complex is mostly college students who have little respect for the property and for other peoples property. Trash is left on the ground right next to the trash chute in the parking garage, and the new “security doors” that were installed late in 2015 were broken by people ripping them open, as I witnessed on several occasions. Eventually the lock on the main door broke, and now it doesn’t even latch any more. After the leasing company started up a new social media site for residents to be able to voice their concerns more easily with the management, I began seeing complaint after complaint about the main door being broken, with the response from management being “we are looking into the issue and will get it resolved.” Recently our fireplace wasn’t working and we had a repairman come to our unit to look at it, we also got to talking about the main door issues. He told me that they have arrested multiple people found sleeping in the stairwells of the buildings and that they have found to have crowbars with them. I hope that people will read the reviews about this complex and avoid it like the plague. There are other apartment complex’s downtown Denver that have to be better and safer than The Metro.
Don’t be as foolish as me and make the mistake of making The Metro your new home. I have lived there for about two months and I have never felt like more than just a rent check. The grounds are unkempt and the entrance doors to my building are often broken. As a female living alone safety is always in the forefront of my thoughts. Providing an unclean, unsafe, barely functioning apartment, along with some potential health risks to ANY tenant is completely unacceptable. Don’t be desperate and move to The Metro. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
This is a fairly nice company. The pool and commons area are all nice. 24/7 gym. Everyone in the office is nice. The prices are going up so that means less of a frat vibe. It is very close to downturn so you will get a lot of drunk antics going down on the weekends. Dogs are welcome! They could use some interior updates with linoleum, tiles and definitely cabinet updates on kitchen.
Here is a simple list of the Pros & Cons I've experienced at the Metro Pros: Great location for walking to King Soopers, bars, breweries, and 16th st. Apartments are nice inside (I believe they were built in 2003). Close to I-25. Cons: Management is incompetent and hope your issues/concerns blow over instead of solving them. I addressed an issue for 3 straight months once (2-3 times/week). ONE garage spot per apartment (2 & 3 bedrooms also only get one). There has been a problem with theft around the property. Unless you live on the top floor, you will swear bigfoot lives above you. Walls are also thin and you can hear your neighbors. You can live at a newer property for the same price. Misc: There are no meters around the property which is good and bad. Everyone and their mom parks here for the Rockies games. Even if there isn't a game and a friend comes to visit, they'll probably be trying to park for half an hour. Denver also loves to write ridiculous tickets to cars on the street. Real example- "parked in same spot over 72 hours". My car was only there ONE day, but their reason was my car was DIRTY and it looked like it was longer! -Current and soon to be ex resident
The metro apartments have been known forever as the adult dorms of lodo in Denver because of the type of young people who live here. The walls are pretty thin and you can definitely hear your neighbors. If you move here and are a light sleeper or need to go to bed early I would highly suggest living on the top/fourth floor. If you do not have an assigned parking spot in the garage it can be hard to find parking especially during a Rockies game since it is located right by Coors Field. It is close to the train tracks so you do hear the train often, I sleep with a fan so it doesn't bother me at night. Management is not very organized, they take their time on any issue unless its detrimental to the property. The side secure doors have been broken for over a year and they keep saying they will be fixed soon but are still broken. Overall the apartment itself has updated appliances with huge walk-in closets and I very much enjoy that each unit has it's own washer and dryer. You can't beat the location right next to I-25 and downtown Denver but I would recommend you being in the age bracket of 21-30 to feel comfortable living here since it is not quiet or family friendly.
The Metro's population is predominately in their 20's, and college students, or recent graduates. The layouts of the apartments are very nice and roomy. Rents are in line with other downtown Denver properties. We have lived here 13 months, and will move out next month. The nickname for this property is Denver Dorms. That is not an exaggeration. There are parties by the pool every weekend. Many nights, there are parties in the apartments until the early hours of the morning. Great for young people that don't seem to have to hold down a job. Not so great for people who have to work in the morning. We have had vomit outside our ground floor patio twice. Once, we were informed that it would be about four days before maintenance could clean it up. There is a blatant lack of respect for the property or neighbors in this complex, that is common with people that have never had to pay for anything on their own. Maybe that's harsh, but we have seen multiple instances of vandalism and general trashing of the property. About two weeks ago, someone thought it would be a great idea to smash the vending machine with a trash can, load up all the snacks, and leave a pile of broken glass everywhere. Yep. That remained that way for a few days. Other issues we have had- the mailroom and package receiving is inconsistent. Packages are not logged in properly by all of the staff. Some do it, some don't. You may or may not get a package notification. They may or may not find said package. They will not take responsibility for lost packages that they have received. My roommate had a package lost last fall. It was signed for, but never found. And that brings me to the staff. Hillary, the property manager, seems blissfully ignorant of the vandalism and poor office practices on her property. The staff rotates regularly. You get to know one person, and she's gone the next week. That does not make me confident in their knowledge of how the property is run, since they seem to be in perpetual training mode. My best advice if you choose to live here, document everything. Take pictures of the property you are renting before you get into your lease. This property will find ways to chip away at your security deposit. Also, invest in earplugs if you actually have to work for a living.
After my upstairs neighbor walks heavy all day, like playing with a big dog, I step outside to see where loud music was coming from. I asked the guy on the balcony if he knew what time it was, he replied it is 10:39 on a Saturday night, good night. Then he stated it was a young apartment. I mentioned he had been stomping all day, he looked at me with disbelief and then proceeded to stomp for about 10 minutes before quieting down. If you are young, The Metro, aka Denver Dorms, is for you!
