Property Ratings at The Midway
Don't waste your time trying to come here to live. I'm annoyed by the constant emails and, the water is always off or . The new so call Manger don't even really know what she's doing. Rent never is the same with the fee's. Further more it doesn't look good with the property's always under new management. I'm oh so ready to move.

Myself and family have been here over a year and I personally wouldn’t recommend. The Maintenance employees are very unprofessional, they lie about coming out to fix things, and when they do come you end up calling for them to come right back for the same problems. We have been without any hot water and I was told by the emergency line that they don’t come out to fix that type of problem after 8 o’clock even tho the call was made and they received the message @ 5:02 way before 8 o’clock. This is not the first time our hot water has stop working it’s probably about the 3rd or 4th time. I have small children and a husband that gets up every morning and go to work so not having hot water or having someone feel like we can wait because they don’t wanna do there job is very very disappointing especially when we pay our rent every month.
I just recently moved to Waco, and Fleetwood was the first place someone referred me to because I asked for a reasonable affordable property! I've been here for about 6 months now and just renewed my lease, I love it.. I have not had to call maintenance out within these 6 months besides 1 time for something very minor

Been here for a while signed a new lease in Dec 2016. Jan 2017 they refused to take my rent, No reason given, then proceed to evict me for non payment of rent. go figure. Oh and you also pay for you upstairs or downstairs neighbors hot water. I have the information straight from a maintenance man that the hot water lines are messed up and the hot water from each hot water heater goes to both upstairs and downstairs. So if there is 2 people living downstairs and someone upstairs has say 4 children then the downstairs not only gets to listen the the wonderful noise of the children as they stomp and run around but also help to pay for the hot water for their baths and dishwashing.
This apartment offers month to month rentals, which is great for those that are in the area short term. It was $585/month for short term. They also provide free cable tv and pay for water. However, the apartments are mixed income (Section 8). There have also been several changes in management (4 managers in less than 1 year). Major maintenance issues were fixed, however, other issues haven't been fixed in a year (leaky faucet, no screen door for balcony). I have reminded each manager of issues, but they seem to get 'lost'. It may be that I'm a month to month rental, so they aren't concerned. However, I pay a significant amount more than most due to the month to month. When maintenance comes, they don't call ahead or leave a note that they've been in your apartment. Also, water heater is shared between units. The sign says remodeled, however they just painted the countertops in kitchen and bathroom. The downstairs units also have new vinyl/linoleum flooring. That is the extent of remodeling. They have a pool, however it didn't open until late August secondary to maintenance issues. Great location for travelers in medical field, as it is about 5 minute drive to each hospital (Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest and Providence) and the VA. I don't feel unsafe and don't have any problems with the neighbors. Free parking, mostly quiet. I would stay here again, but again only for short term while traveling (didn't mean to stay in Waco this long!!)
The wonderful thing about this apartment is month-to-month rental, which is great as a traveler. It is $585/month with $150 deposit. Cable is free, water and trash are paid for by landlord. However, it is mixed income apartments (Section 8 allowed). There were several maintenance issues that took multiple phone calls to get fixed. Other issues, such as a leaking sink or a missing screen door for balcony have not been fixed in over a year. Thankfully, I don't pay for water here. Management has changed several times (four different managers) in less than a year, so many maintenance requests were 'lost'. The advertisement on the buildings state newly remodeled, which means they painted the countertops throughout. They also put vinyl/laminate flooring in the 1st floor apartments. That is the extent of remodeling. It works as a short term rental, I've had no problems with my neighbors and don't feel unsafe by any means. If you are a traveler in the area, especially at one of the hospitals, it is a good location and close to work.
