Property Ratings at The Mirage
It’s not a terrible place, but I wouldn’t call it luxury. Pretty pricey compared to other places of the same caliber. The comment on Sept 24, 2024 is correct about the maintenance tho. I put in a request to fix the rattling AC unit next to my window and it was closed out and deemed fixed online before anyone even came to see the problem.

The rent is high, and for that, you expect a luxury experience. Instead, you are shown a model apartment, and the real apartments are nothing like that. Busted doors, bent and rusted handles, bad patch jobs, bad paint jobs. You can fill out maintenance requests, but they will close them without fulfilling them. They also don't enforce noise policies, or basically any other policy. So, if you have neighbors who want to blast music at midnight on a Tuesday right outside your window, you'll have to call the police, who might show up. The security gates for the complex have not worked in the months I have lived here. Their pool is not like the ad photos, and it didn't work for most of the summer either. Don't waste your money. Rent somewhere cheaper or get a house.

This place is horrible. The inside of the apartment are disgusting. They don't clean the carpet after a old tenant moved out. The tubs are black, not white. They are fleas and roaches and bed bugs out of control. The management and the maintenance are sorry and can't fix anything. They are over place for the condition their in. I am looking for them to be closed down SOON. Go somewhere else!!!??
This is the most unorganized place ever. When I moved in my dishwasher has broken since I moved in 11 months ago. At first it caused bugs all in my unit. They “fixed” the dishwasher but had to call a plumber because it never actually worked. I never saw a plumber. My unit caned furnished. My couch had huge tear in it which I was also told would be replaced the day I moved in. That same couch is in my unit. My living room TV doesn’t work. My light in my bathroom has been out for almost 6 months. At this point I’m getting dressed in the dark. They keep lying saying the part hasn’t arrived. 3 months later after pressing the issue I was told the part was never actually ordered. They said they ordered it over 3 weeks ago and yet today they still don’t have it when I was told it takes 4 days to arrive. Whenever you go in the office the maintenance men are either sitting in the property mangers office talking about residents or at the desk on their phone but they claim to be so behind and trying to catch up on request. The unit above me flooded my bathroom leaving mold on my ceiling and walls which was never addressed or replaced. This has just been a HORRIBLE experience. You don’t have access to the amenities after the office closes. The property grounds are nasty and full of trash and dog poop. If you can literally move anywhere else go there.
Door was broken and carpet was very warn out and dirty when i moved in, there is molding in the cabinet and floor flooded due to a faulty dishwasher. Still yet to receive a working dishwasher (been 2+ months). We keep getting a run around about when we are getting a new one or even a refurbished one for all we care. Maintenance does their best but whoever owns this actual property isnt getting them what they need so we can actually get what we are paying for.
I'm going to a few places to post reviews about this place because I really believe people should have a fair warning before moving here. shootings, stabbings, drug bust, broken AC, broken entry gate, late fees, shady neighbors- all just off of the top of my head. They have changed management 3 times in the two years I have lived here and neither has the experience changed. The maintenance to this place either is nonexistent or when they arrive, they don't have the abilities to fix what's broken. Just do yourself a favor and do not live here. The only thing getting me through these next couple of weeks is knowing I'm moving out and I never have to live here again. would rather live with my parents.
BEWARE! Don't live here if you want to feel safe and comfortable in your own home. Mgmt doesn't care about you.
I forget this place is student living because of all the crime. While obviously crime is not their fault, they make you feel at fault for things that happen. The cameras are never on, the hallways are super dark. There was just a shooting the other day. Not to mention the couches have never been cleaned, it needs updating and the office smells like dogs. DIRTY DOGS.
Hello I was a resident at campus quarters in Mobile, Alabama and my experience was unacceptable. To begin before I ever signed a lease once I signed up for an account to just look more into the property myself I was barraged with texts at first then the lease manager Zack began constantly calling and pressuring me to move in. Once I did move, I will say for me move in day went very smoothly, but the apartment was in very poor condition left with a mess from a mysterious hole in the ceiling, it was dirty, and to top it off there was already plentiful damage around the apartment. Lastly, the staff has been so unwelcoming for example I go to pick up a package i was told was delivered so i went to check and after plenty of waiting on a staff member to notice me the lady looked around the lobby and came back and sternly told me that I will have an email if i had a package. At this point i had picked up at the minimum ten packages all varying in size and had NEVER gotten an email before. Overall I did not mind the place but who ever is running it needs a reality check.
Fridge was slowly going out after move in, contacted maintenance as soon as we noticed several times, nobody cared. Maintenance said it was reading correct temperature (our meat was seriously thawed) I even showed them my milk, it was not cold anymore and became chunky. Maintenance man talked to me rudely and said nothing was wrong with the fridge and treated me like an idiot. He said I needed to wait a few days for the temperature to be correct. We lost nearly $200 in food that was in freezer and fridge. The office gave us a $50 gift card for 3 girls to split, that’s what “covered our food loss”, a joke. they brought us a fridge from a different unit after I begged multiple times. it had dead gnats inside with hair and dirt everywhere. Maintenance slid it across our floors and had a trail of dirt all over the floor. We had to completely scrub and bleach it. The ice maker was broke and half the shelves inside were missing. Finally we got a new fridge that was out of the box, only because I kept bugging them about it. We have had roaches and took 2 1/2 weeks just to get someone to spray after I had to get my mom involved. Our dryer went out but everytime I call maintenance they say they will “call me back” but never do. Our AC doesn’t blow well at all but nobody cares so it affects our power bill and now it’s “our” fault. maintenance said it was “very faint” but yet still did not try to fix it until my mom got involved, once again. Our vents were filthy when we moved in(I wish I could provide pictures in review)and then when the cleaning lady came, she complained the whole time. Absolutely do not recommend living here. My roommates and I have an overage of $312 for the past month for electricity but they get sketchy when we talk about it. parking lot always has trash and people screaming outside at night. The gates are always broke so it makes us not even feel safe. On tour day they said the gates would be locked 24/7, add that to the list of lies. They also told us there were lots of cameras. I see one camera outside our unit and I’d be surprised if it works. There’s not one camera in the breezeways like they told us and the lights are very dim. Everything they told us on tour day was all a lie just to get us to sign our lease. Everyone in the office has an attitude and speaks to you as if you’re dumb. Save yourself the trouble and don’t live here. I wish I could type more, but there’s a character count.
Campus Quarters are definitely an eye catcher and staff is super friendly when you first enter into the office and sign the lease. The apartments are nice to a certain degree and the area is convenient that's for the two stars that was given. However, once that lease is signed then everything changes. This was my daughter first experience with college and leaving home and it was unethical. They are overpriced with their made up electric overages and will not repair anything unless the parent actually calls. Ms. Kenyatta seemed to be very helpful from the very beginning but upon moving out apparently she became frustrated and was very mean to my daughter so I begin dealing with her. They will overcharge for things that you never even heard of and its ridiculous that they rip off young adults that are becoming the future. They tell you one thing then do the next. I think they would be better if they were to increase their customer service skills and explain to tenants their procedure upon moving out. They will create charges like never before and will repeatedly tell you that its going on your credit. I think they actually enjoy that part. Also there were shooting incidents in the parking lot and the only response they could give was "everything is fine" we will have security to patrol the area. It seems to me they should have been more proactive. The shooting was the last straw for me. If you move here make sure you take pictures upon moving in and moving out. Try not be so needy. Make sure you keep clothes on 24/7 because maintenance pops up whenever they please without a knock. I think this place has a lot of potential but definitely needs some changes. Be safe, be careful, and be blessed!
Campus Quarters isn’t the best place to stay but definitely isn’t the worse. The only reason I enjoy staying here is because of CaNisha (she’s a community assistant) it seems like she’s the only one who cares and goes beyond and above for the resident. She has always made me feel welcomed. I hate shes graduating in May. Hopefully she’ll stay until my lease is up in July.
After just 2 months, there have been two shootings and a robbery at Campus Quarters 112 South University Drive Mobile,AL. Cars broken into. I complained about the weed being smoked throughout the complex and the managements response was “well it is student housing and this is Mobile”. The apartments have mold and my child’s was filthy.
Upon move in our apartment was absolutely disgusting with dead bugs in the freezer, trash on the ground, dried food on walls, and substances seeping up from the carpet despite renters being required to pay a cleaning fee when they move out. Maintenance takes a very long time to get back to you (if they do at all), so expect up to three weeks to get your issue fixed. Noise complaints are typically disregarded unless a large party is going on late at night. The apartment amenities are nice but can also be found at some other apartments. The apartments are very close to campus, which is convenient, and we have not had problems with our kitchen appliances. The apartment complex could be worse, but it is certainly not the best.
It’s truely awful. They do not clean the apartment before move in, only your bedroom and mine still had mold. The apartment was infested with fleas and dog hair everywhere, including the fridge and freezer. They charge a full months rent for move in and move out months but you only can live in it a week out of each of those months. They do not attend to maintenance requests and when they do, they put it off till it’s convenient for them. They will charge extra fees, like late fees, that aren’t applicable. They will manipulate student into signing leases for longer. It seems wonderful from the outside but it’s not. It’s awful and I wish I hadn’t got roped into the lease.
The apartment itself was nice, lots of living room and kitchen space. But the management will screw you over every chance they get and not give a care in the world about it. I mistakenly lived here for 3 years, and my rent went up every year. The last week I lived there, I came home one day and my room was completely EMPTY. So I contacted the office and they told me they thought I moved out early so they packed the rest of my belongings for me and either threw it away or put it in the shed out back.. What?!?! Violation of property, they won't tell you when they're coming in your apartment, and they are beyond rude. I hate this place, and I always will.
After driving over twelve hours my daughter went into the leasing office to sign her lease and receive the keys. The office staff completely ignored her acting if they did not see her knocking on the door. There was one female and one male(Zackery) in the office...only to be told her apartment was not ready to return in an hour.after my daughter returned she was then given the wrong key, she returned to the office again to get another key which was given to her. My daughter returned to the apartment to try another key which did not work. My daughter returned again to the office only for it to be closed. Now where is she supposed to sleep for the night?? Terrible ! simply Terrible. I seriously need answers to why this happened?! I always thought your first impression is supposed to be your best.
Mail would come up weeks after I received it. Management was very rude they were charging me more rent than my roommates and we all signed at the same time. Talked to them about it and they were very rude and just raised everyone's rate. Also charged me 350 for carpet replacement in a single bedroom when I moved out. Was late on rent one time because of health issues and management did not try to work with me at all.
All my friends and I live in Campus Quarters and love it! Its the perfect distance away from campus. Not so close that you can hear the band practicing, but not a ten minute drive like some other complexes. The community is gated and because of the close proximity to the other buildings, I can easily walk to my friends' apartments quickly and safely. The apartments are spacious and fairly priced. I definitely take advantage of the amenities CQ offers like the pool, gym, and tanning bed. The computers and printers are a lifesaver because I don't personally own a printer and constantly need one for classes. Overall Campus Quarters is a great place to live and I recommend it to all of my friends looking for apartments.
Campus Quarters is great! I live in a two bedroom apartment and I love it! Everything is very new and up to date, even the kitchen appliances. They installed a huge TV for free, which I didn't even know was included. The balconies are pretty big which leaves plenty of room to move around, even with two chairs and a table. The closets and bathrooms are also SO spacious, which for me is a must! Open access to the gym, tanning bed, pool, and computer lab is very nice and the fact that the whole complex is gated makes me feel a little more at ease when I am home alone. Campus quarters is definitely the nicest apartment complex close to the university and is around the same price range as some of the smaller and outdated ones. The only downside is that they have extremely limited parking for guests and even if there are no guest spots availible, any guest parked in a regular spot gets towed and it is $250 to get it out. What college student can actually pay that? I believe a parking ticket would suffice.
This is a great apartment complex to live in while i school. It is close to everything.
Campus Quarters Apartments are a fantastic value for your money. That being said, there are definite pros and cons. Pros: Rent is $535 for a 4 bedroom apartment and it includes all utilities; even cable in your bedroom and wifi. They also install a larger flat screen TV in the living room that has Netflix on it. It's landscaped nicely and gated and you get a clicker for both gates. The kitchen is very large and well equiped with new appliances. Each bedroom has a large bathroom and walk in closet and comes furnished with a desk, chair, full sized bed, and dresser. Cons: The walls are thin and you can easily hear your roomates even if they are talking quietly. You can also hear your upstairs neighbors just walking around. Also, it can be very difficult to find parking near your apartment, especially in the evenings. Sometimes other residents are really loud outside for no apparent reason. All in all, I would definitely reccomend living here. You might have to walk a little far to get to your apartment, and get a fan to help cover the noise, but those shortcomings are well worth the price.
