Right across the Connecticut state line from Greenwich sits Port Chester, a vibrant suburban village on Long Island Sound. Since a major revitalization effort in the late 1990s, the community has experienced a stellar series of improvements while still retaining a historic small-town atmosphere, particularly in its walkable downtown.
Numerous public parks and access to the water make it very convenient to enjoy the outdoors, and several golf courses in the immediate surrounding area provide ample opportunities for folks to hit the links. The trip to Manhattan is only about one hour, and with MTA rail service available, residents have easy access to New York, New Haven, and beyond.

Property Ratings at The Modern Port Chester
They have sold this building to a new company, and many things have changed. The woman who is in charge of the management 9/10 times has given me incorrect info about everything. The online rent payment requires you to pay a crazy convenience fee. Windows do not close all the way, so you’ll freeze in the winter. You’ll imagine in a brand new building like this you’ll find young professionals- wrong! Lots of old folks living there who will give you a hard time about just everything. There’s a resident who owns an aggressive pitbull (yeah, why is this even allowed ?) the pool is tiny and 4 ft deep. Heat is not included. Floors make lots of noise as you walk.
Let me start by saying the parking lot is very small and limited. You will more than likely have to park on the street as I had to and you can bet you will have a parking ticket every single morning. The place looks great at a quick glance and makes you think your getting a great luxury apartment. The floors in the apartment were so uneven and crooked. The side trim on kitchen cabinets falls off by themselves as it is very cheap material. The heat is horrible! Never gets to actually blowing warm. Our washing machine from day we moved in had an odor and almost mold like substance inside it. The windows in the apartment would not shut 100% of the way so constant wind noise and rain coming in at times during heavy storms. The apartment was repainted before move in, to which all they did was put primer on the walls and left sanding dust everywhere. Very unprofessional, cheap job. To sum this up, looks great but far from great by any means. We rented for 1 year, after first month we couldn’t wait to get out!
Where do I start? The tiny pool that is no more than 4 feet deep requires a lifeguard for management to open it. Management doesn’t pay for a lifeguard to be there for more than a few hours a day. The “dog park” that is described out front is no more than a grass-less patch on a steep hill. The building isn’t made well, so you’ll have to call management for several issues that they will ultimately blame on you.
Man o man where do I start, once you come into the building you feel a strong sense of community. My experience from the realtor showing me the property to the amazing location in Port Chester! This is the best building in town, the residents are young professionals. The building is very pet friendly, the property manger, maintenance manager, and account manager are very professional and super dependable. I am happy to be living in a such a great environment, I cannot ask for a better living arrangement. I have seen all of the apartments here and highly recommend you come in for a tour, you are missing out!
We moved in a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be more impressed with the building, and especially with the service that management has provided. Beth and Avi from DeLaurentis management are incredibly accommodating and very, very nice people! It makes us feel at ease knowing if we ever have an issue that they're very approachable and always helpful. It's clear they are working in your interest and want you to be happy.
The leasing team here is awesome! Very friendly, but also transparent about all additional costs associated with the building (even though there aren't many! Especially if you do not have a pet). They were also flexible in scheduling appointments to visit and then come back again after signing the lease. Great team to work with, looking forward to our move in!
My girlfriend and I just moved into the Lighthouse on Sunday the 19th and the staff could not have been more helpful. Everyone was where they said they would be when they said they would be and we had a great move in experience which is a rarity these days. The apt was cleaned and anything we noticed that needed to be fixed they were ready and waiting for us to make a list of everything we noticed so that they could schedule any of the SMALL things that needed to be fixed. It is the first time I have ever been the first person to move into an apartment and it was cool being the first to do a load of laundry in the brand new Whirhpool and Frigidaire washer and dryer and they worked great. The appliances were all Frigidaire stainless and worked great. The specialized in-house cable guy for FIOS comes today to get us connected with WI-FI and cable at a special discounted rate so we were only semi-off the grid for one day which for work is a necessity. We look forward to the summer months and the opening of the pool and being able to lay out on the deck and use the incredible Viking BBQ and Oven with granite counter-top set-up they have built in the pool area. They literally blasted into the rocks to build the deck and pool and it looks really cool. Parking is great, inside and a 15 second walk to the entrance to the main lobby from the garage. We got two spots, one FREE and all the other buildings we looked at wanted at least $100- $150 for each spot....nothing came with the apt. I highly recommend this apartment complex to the existing resident of Westchester or the person who got a new job in Westchester and is finally ready for suburban lifestyle. We could not be happier! Thanks everyone on the staff for making our move-in so easy. If anyone has any real questions from a real tenant shoot me an email at curtishoffman@email.com and I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Thanks very much. Curtis
I Moved in about 6 weeks ago and absolutely love it here! The management is quick to respond to any questions I have. The apartments are spacious and we are so excited to use the pool this summer! I would recommend everyone to this building.
