Property Ratings at The Monarch on Highland
Absolutely do NOT move here. I lived here for two years, and it was absolutely horrible from start to finish. It’s a very old building, I moved here under the impression that renovations would be completed in 8 months. renovation NEVER stopped. Pipes burst at least 2x a year. Every time it storms, either there’s water leaking from the windows in the hallway or water leaking from the windows in your unit. You have to nearly harass the leasing office in order to have anything fixed. There was water damage to my bathroom due to a bursted pipe that was NEVER fixed while I was there that left my bathroom walls as soft as cardboard (which eventually turned moldy). The building is INFESTED with various different bugs. There’s a HUGE safety issue, even though they have security, the security does absolutely nothing. It got to a point where my car was being broken into TWICE A MONTH, sometimes with security sitting RIGHT in the parking lot at the time of the break-ins. And good luck trying to catch the perpetrators, because they have cameras outside but they NEVER worked in all the time I lived there. There were homeless people sleeping in the stairwell. There’s only 2 elevators, and one of them only worked twice during three duration of my time there. The other elevator was broken down every week. The list goes on. Absolutely DO NOT move here!!!!
I moved in February. Not only has my guest’s car gotten towed, the elevators don’t work, the place is filled with bugs, the complex is FILTHY 24/7, the PARKING—- is horrendous. But the worst thing of all, I’ve gotten my car broken into TWICE. Two times, since living here in February. There is no security, I was informed that the cameras do not work, and the parking lot is not well lit. There are no amenities either, there’s a big room with a vending machine. There is no gym, there are no dishwasher, there are no furnished apartments. They’re lying. Save yourself grief and money, do not move here.
