What began as a resort getaway for the Low Country elite in the 19th century has blossomed into a thriving community on the outer edge of the Charleston area. Countless buildings in town have been added to the National Register of Historic Places, so the local architecture definitely contributes to the charming atmosphere.
The town has experienced massive growth since the 1980s, meaning many of the apartments and homes are fairly new, and the cost of living is very affordable compared to many places closer to the city. Only about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston via I-26, it’s a great place for commuters to call home. Parents will appreciate the terrific local schools and family-friendly events like the annual Flowertown Festival.

Property Ratings at The Montana Apartments
if i could give negative stars i would. from the moment we moved in we had nothing, but problems and the office is less than helpful when it comes to anything. our unit was covered in mold and there were all kinds of water damage, bugs were painted over, the car wash area never worked, and the dog park is completely rundown.
I’ve lived here for two years. New people took over management and the only things that are kept up is the lawn. The maintenance team is dumb, literally have zero knowledge on maintenance or will just put duck tape or something else to fix problems unless the issue is completely un fixable. Not enough washing machines and dryers for the laundry room. The machines are small and cost 1.75 per load so when they break down or aren’t drying like they’re supposed to that’s more money you’re throwing away just to complete a basic necessity. New management promised us a lot of good change to upgrade the place since it was built in the 70s, and have yet to hear or see any good changes for the complex. If you just need something cheap but crappy to get you to something better as a temporary living situation then this would be for you. Otherwise don’t move here. Trust me.
This place is really nice and quiet. The management is very responsive. Love the dog park, and BBQ area.
