As its name implies, Medical Center South is located directly south of the Texas Medical Center, which is home to Houston’s major healthcare facilities and medical schools. The neighborhood is also locally known as the Astrodome since the Houston Astrodome dominated the neighborhood. NRG Arena, NRG Stadium, and NRG Center are also located in the neighborhood so living here will give you easy access to rodeos, football games, concerts, and more. Although the area was initially created for the Astrodome, it has since changed drastically. Along with medical facilities, Medical Center South is laden with restaurants, stores, and an abundance of housing options. Rental options include large single-family houses, luxury condos, and modern apartments and townhomes. Attracting even more renters, Medical Center South is also convenient to Downtown Houston, Midtown, and Hermann Park.

Property Ratings at Alegria II
I wish I could give no stars. This place is DISGUSTING. DO NOT move here. I repeat...DO NOT move here. They lie about the units and what is included just to get people in. If they arent willing to show you the exact unit you will be living in, then leave. It's a set up. There are break-ins here and it's infested with cockroaches. I have been here for a week...there shouldn't be cockroaches in my kitchen every night. Ive called multiple times and left countless emails about it. Nobody will get back to me. The maintenance does not fix issues. They Jerry rig everything and then call it fixed. Or they just dont fix anything at all and mark it as complete. Absolute laziness. Safety is not at all a concern. There are no cameras anywhere. People are fighting and screaming every night. I literally watched someone in the apartment across from me break in through the window IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY! There were dirty dishes in my dishwasher the day that I moved in. The blinds were covered in some sort of dried liquid underneath. Shall I continue? Just don't do it. It is filthy, unsafe and disgusting. I will most likely be breaking my lease to get out of here. It's worth the ding on my rental history...that's how bad it is. Believe the bad reviews. They are not exaggerating.
I hate the cliche sayung "word cannot express how bad this place is," but I think in this case the expression is apt. These apartments are bad, degrading, dirty and far worse the management is awful. There is a roach infestation here which is persistent and a health hazard yet management doesn't do anything about it. Management has takes long to do anything, even if it is as gross and a health risk as the amount of roaches in this place. All other work orders we've requested often take months to resolve. The place is beaten up, loud, and it is really really not a good place to live if you don't have to. The good reviews are either dated or fictional, its presentation makes it look nicer than it is, and frankly, these apartment builds are simply trash
Roach infested!!! New management is not bad but the experience of living in the Morgan apartments for the last year was probably the worst experience of my entire life. Someone was murdered in One of the units November 2019. Made it hard to pay your rent, rude, unprofessional. Roaches everywhere!!!!!
Please DO NOT move here if you value your safety & health. These apartments have switched management companies 3 times in less than a year. Ever since I moved in these apartment it’s been one problem after the next. Be warned the model apartment that they show you is nothing like the patched up apartment you will get. The first week I moved in my hood got stolen off my car yes you read that right my hood! That was just the start of the problems. The foundation problems are so bad that the whole roof collapsed in my daughters rooms! Other problems included: breaking in cars, the pool is never open, every time it rains the sidewalks in the apartment flood, the pond stays nasty an full of trash, the washrooms are never open and when they are the washer/dryer doesn’t work, the staff NEVER answers the office phone, security cameras DO NOT work they are only up for show, sewage is always overflowing etc.... I can go on & on but it’s just to much. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! You will regret it.
Horrible experiences with this apartment. First management is horrible, they don't pick up the phone at all and keep door to residents locked while the front door is unlocked. They never have any answers for anything that goes on around here. Water drainage here is horrible also, cars have been broken into, trash can constantly overfilled and flowing onto the ground. They're quick to charge you a fee for any and everything but not quick to solve problems for you as a renter. Right now we're going on 3rd day without power becuase one of their walls with the meter rack fell off completely pulling the meter rack out. When asked when they expect power to be on they have no answer and when I seen the people that was working on the issue they looked like a family instead of a work crew. Six months into this apartment and I kno for a fact I don't want to live here anymore. Ohhhh and I forgot about all of the roaches there's enough of them to have a conversation with all day!
If you want to live in a great location, affordable living with pet friendly environment, The Morgan is the place to be. The leasing staff makes you feel right at home, in a quite peaceful nieghborhood.

Hello, Thank you! We are glad that we implemented reserved parking to satisfy our residents needs. Best wishes!
The only bad thing about this place is traffic when anything happens at NRG stadium, everything else if great. I've never needed to wait to get help at the office, and maintenance issues are usually solved within the day if not the next few hours after I notified them.
The office staff is sooooo nice and ....... THEY ALWAYS HAVE SNACKS AND FRESH COFFEE!!!!!
The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and maintenance is always on time. I have been here for 4 years and never had an issue. The new management team really came in and maintained order. For it to be located in the medical center, the price of rent is beyond amazing!!!
I can literally cross the street and be directly in front of NRG stadium, so convenient especially for rodeo time
Moved here and did not last 24 hours. The first night was not able to sleep due to the strong bad odor in all the Apt due to cabinets full of mold. The second day the parking and side walk going to my apt was full of back up sewage water. If you care for your health dont even consider living there.
Great office, feel safe in the area, quiet neighbors, nice location! ONLY but BIG problem is its infested. I moved here in July and i killed a roach or two every week AND i had my apartment sprayed the day i moved in. I know I'm not dirty because after every kill i clean the WHOLE apartment!
Without a doubt the worst place I've ever lived! If they offered me a 6 months of free rent on a six month lease I would turn it down. The apartment itself on the inside isn't that bad but the outside in the grounds are a complete dump. The parking lot is constantly covered in food and discarded trash. The pond constantly has trash floating in it and looks like the Swamp Thing could come out at any moment. The parking is terrible and you can't have anyone come over to your house and spend the night unless they have a visitor's parking tag and you only get one. They will tow your car for anything and everything. The complex is surrounded by even worse more ghetto complexes than the Morgan. The complex is filled with trashy people. I don't even walk my dog after night anymore I certainly wouldn't recommend any young college students to rent here is far too dangerous and the crime rate is far too high. The management is the worst part of all. They never have anyone more than a few months and their favorite response is I don't know I just started working here or they roll their eyes and act like you asking them something is a huge hassle. Do yourself a favor and don't move here. There are far better places at the same price. An FYI most of the really good reviews on here were written by the staff themselves and are fake.
This is a dangerous complex to live in, as the structural integrity of the buildings themselves are in disrepair and terrible built. Also, this complex has created a for-profit deal with a wrecker company and an auto storage facility to entrap the poor by non marking parking spaces properly, as people's cars end of missing and another $220 later and you're paying con-artists to give you car back. This complex is a money pit that feeds on the poor, and they charge exorbitant amounts of capital just to have guests over, as their business is to rob their tennants' friends and family of their money, as well. Beware and be forewarned.
If you want/need to be in the area and you're on a tight budget, it could be worse. The finish on these are awful, the carpet was threadbare when I moved in, and is now sagging between the floor joists. I can hear my down stairs neighbours ceiling fan through the floor. Roaches are everywhere. Good luck with that. Also, they had a 2.5 review until most of their reviews 'disappeared'.
Close to NRG if you're a Texans fan. Just a quick walk to the stadium. Close to the light rail for easy access to midtown/downtown area. Newly redone apartments with new appliances and floors. Perfect for my first place with out a roommate! Dog friendly! The pool is always clean and ready for a dip! Staff is friendly and will do what they can to help and do whatever is needed! Right off 610 and Kirby so there are plenty of places to eat with only a few min drive. Love the location and plan to stay!
I moved into the Morgan apartment after a terrible experience with apartment, I moved to Texas for colllege I wanted something close to campus that wouldn't break my budget. I view the apartment on this website and decide to stop by and check them out I fell in love with the open square plan and the huge walk in closet great for storing shoes. ?? I love that the apartment is only 5 minutes away for my school plus right next to the NRG stadium so great for football season and the famous rodeo don't worry it a gated community so you don't have to worry about no parking spot there great with keeping unwanted guests out of the complex. The apartment doesn't have a washer or dryer hook up in the one bedroom apartment but the apartment does have Landry facilities so you can still have your wash days without going out of your way. I highly recommend to college students that want to be close to everything but still in a reasonable budget.

i really love the way I can step inside the leasing office and be able to laugh and receive friendly conversation with everyone there. Even when I explained how I may need to down size my apartment Armando was happy to provide info on how they can make my transfer quick and easy.

I really love my apartment complex but I live near Houston's Texans football stadium and the traffic can get crazy. I have been here for a year and never had any issues with the leasing office. If there is a maintenance issue its resolved the next day.
