Midtown Baltimore encompasses a number of distinct urban neighborhoods in the heart of the city. Madison Park, Bolton Hill, Mid-Town Belvedere, and Mount Vernon all fall under the umbrella of the “Midtown” moniker. This bustling arts center is bolstered by the University at Baltimore and the Maryland Institute College of Art. After work or school, locals enjoy riding their bikes through Pearlstone Park, which is in walking distance of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Because of its walkability, you can easily access the plentiful bars and restaurants from your apartment. The Brewer’s Art brewpub has an excellent selection of homemade Belgian-style beers and fabulous food items. Whether it’s getting to work or class on time, residents are relieved they live so close to Interstate 83 and MTA stations for an easy commute.

Property Ratings at The Mount Royal
I lived at Mount Royal for 1 year. The apartments are in great shape and the staff are super friendly. The few maintenance requests that I had were fixed quickly and accurately. I worked in DC and caught the MARC train at Penn Station. Long commute but glad I lived so close to the station. The gym is sufficient and the Amazon lockers are a nice perk. The only reason I left was to buy a house in Fed Hill. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Royal!

Thank you for your 5 star review! We appreciate the thorough information about both the community and property. The addition of Amazon lockers was to help better serve our residents, and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed that convenience. It is always sad for a resident to move out, but we are happy that you purchased a home. Best of luck in your future!
I lived in Mount Royal for almost five years and have nothing but positive things to say! The amenities are great - I frequented the gym, which was always clean and well-lit; my packages were conveniently received and stored in the mailroom and now amazon lockers; and the club room is a nice place to hang out, study, and reserve to host get-togethers. It is one of the closest apartments to Penn Station, JHMI shuttle stop, and less than 15 minutes to get almost anywhere in Baltimore city by car. I also noticed that noise was never an issue, compared to other apartments I lived in with thin walls. The building management staff are awesome - extremely friendly, responsive, and all around great people. They've made the move-in, changing roommates, and move-out process so easy and seamless and will miss them! I highly recommend the Mount Royal Apartments if you're moving to Baltimore or Mount Vernon for school or work, living by yourself, or with roommates.

Thank you for your fantastic community review! We love that you resided with us for 5 years and truly had a great experience!
I've lived at The Mount Royal for two years with my partner. We've both loved living here. The neighborhood and the building itself are both secure and safe, the fitness center in the basement is convenient, and the new-ish Amazon lockers are amazing. It's hard to beat the location of the building, too, since it's right between Mount Vernon and Station North, two amazing Baltimore neighborhoods. We will be sad to go! We've decided to leave because the price of the rent was a bit steep for us, especially since we were also paying for on-site parking. I believe some, but not all, kitchen/bathrooms in the apartments have been even further updated (with granite or other stone countertops, etc.) but ours is/was not, which saved us some money, too. We could tell we had fresh carpet and freshly painted walls when we moved in, both of which were lovely. Maintenance requests were always handled promptly. I do recommend this building to anyone looking to move in the area, however! We're moving slightly south to a slightly smaller apartment to save some cash. We'll miss the amazing location and the incredible staff.

First- thank you for your residency over the past 2 years! We love that you enjoyed your time with us and are thankful for your great, detailed review of the community. We wish you the best in your future home!
I lived at the Mount Royal for 6.5 years while I was attending graduate school at Johns Hopkins. There are many apartment buildings in Baltimore but year after year I chose to stay for a number of reasons. First, the building is in the heart of Baltimore--located only two blocks from Penn Station, two blocks to numerous restaurants along Charles Street, across the street from the Jones Falls Trail (great for running/biking), and right off of I-83. I would frequently walk to Penn Station and hop on the Johns Hopkins Shuttle, the Purple Circulator, or MARC to DC. Second, the apartment/apartment building is kept well maintained with scheduled preventative maintenance and clean common spaces. Third, the staff, including both the property managers and the maintenance staff, are always ready to help and they go out of their way to make living at the Mount Royal feel like home. I always felt like my questions and concerns were promptly addressed. Lastly, the apartment may not have a pool or an outside space, but the amenities that are offered, including the gym, club room, and conference room are great perks, and for the price, I was happy to jump in a friends pool. I could keep listing reasons why I continued to call the Mount Royal my home for 6.5 years but instead check it out yourself!

We greatly appreciate this review of our community! Our team strives to ensure our residents are happy with their homes and although our location is great, it is fantastic to hear that our employees have exceeded your expectations. We are sad to see you leave, but happy you have enjoyed your residency with us!
I am very thankful to be living here. After struggling to find an apartment and roommates for months, I found a great home in The Mount Royal! Great neighborhood, ideal access to transportation (less than 5 minutes to ANY bus, Penn Station, etc), and safe/well lit neighborhood. The building is comfortable and the amenities are new and great condition. Utilities aren’t outrageous like they’d be in an old row home. Tons of space, easy access to MICA, UB, and JHU. I can see Most of downtown from one window, and also see Station North from the other! Quit space, clean grounds, and fantastic/super responsive/genuinely caring on site staff/management that ensures any request is followed through ASAP. THANKS @ Mount Royal & Cove Property Management!
