Property Ratings at The Munsey
I have lived here at The Munsey for over a year, and my experience has been nothing but great. The staff is wonderful especially the assistance property manager Dean. He has gone over and beyond to help with my move in and any other small issues that I might have had. His response time is excellent with getting back to me when I have left emails and voice messages, he has been nothing but professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. The cleanliness and overall upkeep of the building are very good. The only negative would be the lack of restaurants immediately adjacent to the building, but the inner harbor, Power Plant and Mount Vernon are all just a few blocks away. Overall, this is a great place to live.
Management at this apartment is unresponsive to your issues. When we moved in 2 years ago it took 2 month to fix our AC in the middle of the summer. We had multiple issues with our apartment all taking months to resolve. Nothing is easy when it comes to this apartment, and getting a hold of someone is like pulling teeth. They say this place is luxury, but nothing about their customer service is luxury. The utilities are also super high since they work with a 3rd party provider. and billing is always being messed up.You work hard, spend your money and live in another place that wont constantly cause you stress.
I love the apartment, it’s affordable and has great luxury amenities
I lived at the munsey for 1 years. It was all good until the last 4 years. HVAC issues, rodients issues. Last year there was the worse. I DO NOT recommend it to anyone.
I have lived in the Munsey for close to a year. My first couple months we lived without a HVAC. And for the last 4 months we have neighbors and I have been dealing with mice due to the property not emptying the trash chute and it backing up all the way up to the 14th floor. My fiancée has seen 3 mice in the last week with one waking her and my son up at 1:13am because it was crawling up the blinds in our bedroom. My toddler son is scared to sleep in his room because of the rodent infestation. DO NOT RENT HERE as the management does not care to address the situation.
This is by far the worst place to live in. Please listen to the reviews. The building is very old so every week something is broke. We've had multiple elevator, air and heat shut offs. Maintenance takes at least 3 weeks to fix things (in my case months), the utilities are way too high, and the tenants leave pet waste throughout the building. The apartments look very nice and updated but I promise you it's an experience from hell.
I have lived in this building for 3 years. It is an older building, so it had it's share of issues and the occasional repair is to be expected. When PMC purchased the building in 2020, I figured this would be a good thing, larger financial outlays could presumably improve the building and provide better management. Well, whereas the reasoning above would work in just about any other industry, PMC has shown that it certainly does not apply for them. Management is non-existent. A complete lack of accountability, no one is ever on property except to show units, and there is absolutely no way of contacting anyone. In emails, employees will have their 'cell' in their email signature but it is always just a recorded line.(On a side note, if you know anyone with no discernable skills looking for a job, allow me to recommend a PMC property manager.) It is a shame, this used to be a nice place to live, I will not be extending my lease.
The rent is on the cheaper side, but it's for a reason. The A/C heat, and elevators stop working all the time. On weekends, the elevators smell like marijuana and pet urine. The tenants are known the throw parties in the clubhouse lounge area. You can also hear your neighbors through the thin walls and your floor will more than likely smell like marijuana. The washer/dryer unit is a joke. The longest wash cycle is 12 minutes and you definitely cannot wash a normal load. The utilities are also billed based on the entire building and not each individual unit. The utilities are also very high and there is always an unknown charge on your account that can't be explained. Don't even bother contacting the leasing office because no one answers the phone. The windows in the units are also old and they are dangerous. The building lacks the proper security and you can't even buzz guests in without having to go to the lobby. There is also a lot of domestic violence reports that take place. Please save yourself the headache and pay a few more bucks and move elsewhere.
I am a current residence of the Munsey with a mice problem in my unit. I have had multiple issues with mice in my apartment and this building can't seem to get rid of mice ar just doesn't care as long as the rent check clears. So sure go ahead and live here if you want to wake up to the sound of mice moving about in your apartment in the middle of the night.
I am finishing up my 15 month lease and I can assure you there are far worse places to live than here. BUT! this is not at all the best. When I moved in there was a phenomenal staff Ed was truly amazing, as well as the other staff. There was a wonderful restuarant with Happy Hour, brunches and karaoke, there was valet parking and monthly residence events in the clubhouse. Not even fourth months later, there was new managment, and the restuarant was gone. Six months in, the valet was gone and the monthly price of parking went up to $195 (extra from your rent). Then 8 months in, new managers, Ed was gone, new maintenance staff. I couldnt even tell you the names of the people working here now because the turn over is ever changing. Not to mention, for what you pay, it takes two people to open the windows (if you can even get them open). There are no more residence events, nobody to greet you with a smiling face, its hasnt gone downhill but it surely isnt the same building I moved into. Hopefully things go back to normal but I on the other hand am not renewing my lease because for how they have raised on rent, you can surely get better amenities and better parking elsewhere for the same if not lower prices.
The Munsey is an incredible apartment. It is spacious and clean with a wonderful view of the city. The kitchen equipment (fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave) are new and all the fixings are beautiful. The location is what initially drew me to the apartment. It is minutes away from inner harbour and Mount Vernon. The management is always responsive and very friendly. They welcome you in and make it their priority to ensure your experience here is wonderful. This is my first time living in Baltimore and The Munsey has truly made my experience in Baltimore a home away from home. I couldn't have asked for a better place to live. Highly recommended for any new prospectives!
So, as the last review states, I've also only been here for a short period of time. That being said, my experience moving in has been phenomenal. My move-in was totally less than organized as a result of stuff on my end, and management (specifically, Mr. Regino) worked with me every step of the way to make sure I got into my place on time. That being said, I also didn't visit my apartment beforehand (coming from a city in the midwest, it was a rather long haul kind of move). When I entered the apartment, it was great. The stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge are all updated appliances, the bathroom is perfect, and the bedroom too. And, for a one bedroom, the size is fantastic! PLUS I managed to snag a room with a view at a rental price that is so delightful for a grad student. Again, would totally recommend The Munsey as a place to be.
I have only lived here at The Munsey for a short time, but my experience has been great. The staff is wonderful. They are very helpful and timely in their responses. The cleanliness and overall upkeep of the building are very good. The only negative would be the lack of restaurants immediately adjacent to the building, but the inner harbor, Power Plant and Mount Vernon are all just a few blocks away. Overall, this is a great place to live.
I would recommend the property because it is clean, well maintained, and the amenities are nice.
From the A/C and heat to the elevators to the garbage chute, everything breaks down. It's in a convenient location, but there's nothing convenient about living here. There's horrible parking where they are more concerned with treating it as a parking lot for the general public than for residents because they already have your money. Highly advice looking elsewhere
YES
I would recommend the Munsey because of its location, spacious open-concept apartments, great rent prices, office personnel who are extremely helpful and responsive, and in-unit washer/dryer!
I am! Because it?s a great apartment in a great neighborhood. Corey was so helpful with everything. I cannot wait to move in!
I love this apartment and I love being part of the Munsey family. I feel so loved and valued here. My one recommended change is the valet parking. It is extremely inefficient and completely a hassle when bringing up groceries. I wish I had my own parking spot.
I would highly recommend The Munsey because of their office and leasing staff and the quality of the apartments.
The apartment itself is beautiful. While the location isn't ideal, anyone who wants to live downtown can't find anything better for the price.
The best thing you can do, is talk to a current resident. Any of us will tell you, do not move into the Munsey. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I moved that I spoke with the residents. Some people are very loyal and have lived there for years and they love it. However, you'll find that most people believe that there is always something wrong with the building. I've lived in the munsey for 3 months and I can already say that I agree with those latter people. Within those three months, I have had no A/C, no heat, and water damage. My walls are stained and my floors are ripped up with huge fans set up to dry the cement. Last time I spoke with my neighbor, he still had no heat. It's currently 39 degrees outside. To make matters worse, this whole situation was created by the ownership group's decision to switch out the HVAC system, but they (and the management group) have been extremely careless in their treatment of the (rightfully) upset residents. They send out fluff emails, they lie to appease you in the moment, they don't respond to (and likely don't read) emails, they barely take responsibility for the issues they've caused, and they try as hard as they can not to compensate the impacted residents (which is everyone, by the way). This building is by far the worst experience I've had with a management company, and I will be moving out as soon as my lease allows. WARNING: the people in the leasing office are really nice and very sweet. Don't let them suck you in!!! Village Green in terrible. ~Brittany
I moved in 2 months ago and the experience has been Gold level from day 1. Beverly was the leasing agent I worked with. Even though I was working on locating housing still living states away, she made me feel very connected in the process. All info I requested was shared quickly and thoroughly. I initially went with a different property but changed my mind when the apartment (sight unseen) was NOT as presented. This was actually a blessing, because I felt more at home at the Munsey. Pricing was the driving factor at that time. Flash forward a few weeks and The Munsey actually offered *end of the year* specials. I toured the site 3 times and was never made to feel as if it was a bother. The modifications I needed were made swiftly, the maintenance requests are always handled efficiently by James & John ---AND they seem to really ENJOY their jobs. Shannon has just joined as Property Manager and she seems to be committed to providing quality events, experiences and service to residents. Another "perk" is the SP garage located under the building ($175 a month). I love being able to take the elevator directly down into the garage to get my vehicle. ESPECIALLY in the winter. The SP crew currently is often, have had no problems nor worries about my car. Other perks? YE- she is concierge and is a bright light! Package deliveries, valet cleaning services, weekly events, and an on-site restaurant bar (The Argosy), 7-11, Gina's cafe', the post office across the street are also pluses. Residents are diverse and most are friendly. There is a small gym, computer lounge and lovely event room for our use (free of charge) It's charming, lovely, can't say enough good things about it. To be fair, I've only heard a couple of negative pieces of feedback--- 1.) It's pricey. I think when you live downtown this close to Inner Harbor you expect pricing to be a little higher than the county, but if you compare pricing of properties, it is most competitive for the sq ft. 2.) One winter ago evidently the heat went out and residents were given space heaters to use for the 8 weeks or so it was down. I pray that has been dealt with and won't be an issue this year. ***** 5 stars in my book*** will gladly update as I feel would be helpful.
First off with out a doubt the largest sq footage available in the city. I've been from apt to apt downtown moving around the last 16 years. Skipping around from place to place and after four years in the Munsey I can final say I have found the one. Staff is friendly and on top of their game. Maintenance team is quick and works with your schedule. With a cafe downstairs that roast their own coffee beans what more could you ask for. Everything I need is in walking distance. Worth checking out!

After several weeks of looking for a new place to call home, I stumbled across The Munsey and didn't look back. The one bedroom is spacious and kitchen finishes are fantastic. Large windows make the space airy and bright. No other downtown apartment can offer you such a great space at a stellar price. The staff are super-friendly, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to help you. Without any hesitation, they're on top of providing you with exceptional customer service. I couldn't be happier anywhere else. Although the neighborhood isn't known for its curb appeal, the entire area is undergoing a Renaissance in redevelopment and investment. Nights aren't scary or unsafe as they may seem. With the recent insurgent of new downtown units, I advise you do your homework. Don't fall into the trap of giving up square footage for new construction, unless you're perfectly content with either living cramped in (unleashing your inner hoarder) or parting ways with loads of stuff--no joke. The Munsey is a vintage, upscale gem of Downtown Baltimore just a few blocks away from Inner Harbor and Camden Yards, and easily accessible to I-95/295. It's the perfect spot, you'll be happy here.

I have lived here for almost 4 months and my experience with the Munsey and the staff has been great. They were very flexible with making alterations to the apartment to fit my needs before I even moved in. Every single request and maintenance issue I have had has been handled promptly. I love getting my packages delivered straight to my apartment especially since I don't work regular business hours. They are very animal friendly and always willing to feed my cat while I am away, which gives me great peace of mind. The lobby is beautiful. The Argosy Cafe downstairs is a wonderful addition. The property is always clean. I have not had any issues with the AC or heating. The in-unit washer and dryer are such a convenience. The apartment is spacious with a huge granite countertop, nice soft carpet in the bedrooms, walk-in closets, and plenty of outlets! The neighborhood itself is not the greatest, but I don't feel unsafe. The Metro station is half a block away - can't beat that if you commute to work. The Inner Harbor and all its attractions are 3 blocks away. In March to December there is a wonderful small farmer's market/bazaar every Sunday morning a few blocks away. There is the usual city noise - sirens, cars, etc. but I never hear my neighbors and the building is pretty quiet, which I like.
Great place to live. I lived there for 3 years and would still be there if not for relocating. Staff is great!
I have only been here for a month and I loved it here , it is very convenient and close to most things .i would recommend anyone to live here especial if you work downtown baltimore
