Central City is a conveniently located New Orleans neighborhood steeped in rich historical roots dating back to the 1800s. The neighborhood is brimming with architectural gems, exciting museums, churches, and quiet residential streets.
Although Central City is largely residential, the neighborhood offers an array of cafes, eateries, and shops along the main commercial thoroughfare, Saint Charles Avenue. Property Ratings at The Muses Apartment Homes
I set up an appointment to tour this property. I received confirmation and reminders for this tour. I showed up to see the unit, only to be told 1) there were no available units and 2) even if there were there was no one there to open the viewing unit. A waste of my time, really upsetting.

The Muses is in a very central location of the city. Toured a model apartment..Staff was very personable and informative. The rental rates varies but its STILL affordable. It’s definitely a contender.
The Muses Apartments are the perfect affordable living option centrally located in New Orleans. Just off of the parade route and close to the streetcar and buses, its easy to get around and the area is experiencing a lot of growth-including great restaurant options! The apartments are spacious, well-equipped and are energy efficient so you really get your money's worth. The lack of recycling and thin walls are the disappointing aspects of this apartment. All in all, I would recommend living here-it's a great space to call home.
This is easily the best bang for your buck in terms of New Orleans apartments. The location is great in an up-and-coming neighborhood, parking is gated/affordable and the amenities are solid. The downsides, the walls are thin. If you don't live on the top floor, you will hear your upstairs neighbors loud and clear. Maintenance seems to be backed up pretty regularly so issues take some time to get resolved.
My partner and I visited/toured the property back in May, 2013. Great area and employees were quite helpful and agreeable. Would consider living here.
