Property Ratings at The Oasis (Student Housing)
The maintenance support has been great they get here within the day or the day after we put a service report in and they a very kind people!
My son has lived like a king at the Oasis. It's a well maintained condo community for Liberty students. He's used the pool when school stress is high and his in-unit laundry when clean clothes are getting low and has enjoyed all the other amenities in between! Nissy, Peter, and the other staff are excellent and work with professionalism, patience, and care. I ALWAYS feel that I can call them and get kind help. They are truly a gem. We feel so blessed to have had our son reside there during his Liberty years.
I enjoy living at the Oasis Apartment. The staff is lovely, the apartment is comfortable to live in and it has all the amenities needed. This property has exceeded my expectations.
The management repeatedly goes above and beyond what I expect. They have taken steps to keep the grounds pristine, they protect their tenets, promote academia, and create an environment that allows for mingling. Peter has been my go- to since I moved here. He has been wonderful, patient, and so helpful. This being my first apartment, I have a lot to learn but Peter's customer service and problem solving has been made the journey that much easier. He deserves a bonus or raise, or both!
The Oasis is first and foremost as great place to live; despite some reviews I've heard from other tenants, I have lived here close to three years and have very little complaints (personally). Most of the complaints I have heard typically regard turn-around time for maintenance, but I do believe they are getting better as issues I (or friends) have incurred have typically been taken care of quickly and within 24 hours. There have been a few changes in management since I have lived at the property, and this could be a main reason for the disconnect of certain changes; however, I do believe that management and ownership has the best intentions in mind. The property is set up as a community away from the dorms, and though I would say the bedrooms of the six and four rooms could have been designed bigger, the community is essentially a large part of what you pay for: a free 24/hr gym, snack area, study areas, arcade games, and events that seek to bring some fun at the property still provide that sense of community while being off campus. Some improvements I would personally suggest would be finalizing the maintenance on the fire pits outside, adding a Jacuzzi to the small pool outside (personally I think this is a wasted space), double and triple check the cleanliness of each room prior to new-move ins, pave the additional spaces across from the main building (as of now it is a dirt space), and maintain the cleanliness of the hallways in each building. There are honestly so many reasons to love to Oasis, and I think if someone makes known completely and efficiently when there is an issue, they do truly care enough to fix it. :-)
The Oasis is truly a wonderful place to live! I'm an out of state student who moved to Lynchburg, about 1 year ago, to recommence my academic studies. Upon arrival, my family and I came to the Oasis Community to inquire about another student housing complex that I had previously been assigned to. The host on duty kindly pointed us to the correct direction, but also did not hesitate to mention that there was vacancy at the Oasis. I quickly said yes! I was immediately attracted by the exterior design of the apartment buildings, the accessible gym, and outside entertainment facilities. The interior had also been freshly prepared with furnished furniture & appliances; which was highly convenient for me. Since day 1, I have truly enjoyed being a resident at the Oasis. All the managers, host staff, and fellow residents maintain a positive family atmosphere. Management cares for the residents, which I truly admire. They continuously dedicate time to improve the space in addition to the leasing agreements. Few places do that.I would highly recommend the Oasis to anyone in search for Student Housing. Living here is an opportunity that should not be taken for granted!
Enjoyed my time here and really enjoyed both the games area and the gym. Wish the pool was open later on weekends though! Especially during the hot months... Great place to live though.

Thank you for your feedback! The game rooms and 24 hour Fitness Center are definitely a BIG hit with our students! We are excited to open our pool early this year. We will have details soon. Brittany N. Shipp Community Manager
I moved into the Oasis because I had no where else to go. I was from New York and needed a place that was already furnished. All things pointed to the Oasis and I moved in even though I didn’t really want to. The one thing that immediately jumped out to me was the convenience. I was minutes from the classroom and didn’t have to worry about furnishing my apartment. Well, fast forward to today... I met my husband at the oasis and we are going on our second year of marriage. I’m not saying everyone will meet their spouse at the oasis but it’s what you make of it. I met people there who will be life long friends without a doubt. They also give students great opportunities to pick up summer or holiday hours or join the team! I spent spring break & summers working for the Oasis. Even though I had no intentions of moving there I did and I have absolutely no regrets. I may be biased (cause I met my husband) but the Oasis was a great place for me and it changed our lives forever.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us—and we agree, life long friendships and relationships happen, and we see it often. We count ourselves lucky for customers like you.
I was planning on going home and being an online student, but when my plans suddenly changed last week I had to scramble! Management made it simple and easy to renew last minute and I got to stay in my current room. I like the gym and having my own private bathroom. I wish there was a hot tub!!
When my son finished his college in May, the staff in the office at the Vue told him at that time that he needed to turn in his keys. He turned them in with still 2 1/2 months remaining on his lease. We still had to pay the remaining months even though we would not allowed to keep the keys. Also for the last two months that he was in the apartment, the AC was out of order and the Vue simply put one small AC window unit in the den area of the apartment. The individual bedrooms doors are closed and locked for the tenants safety and protection of personal belongings so having one small AC unit in the Den was not sufficient. For the price that we were paying for this apartment, I expected better service and the ability to use the apartment for the entire length of the lease.

Thank you for your feedback. The Oasis leases run from August 1 to July 15, some residents choose to move out early after graduation, but are still responsible to pay the remaining installments of the lease term. We encourage these residents to turn in their keys so that they can be removed from further electric billing. (Electric was not included in the 2017-2018 term.) There seems to be a misunderstanding as this is not a requirement. Please contact the office and let us know what unit you were in, we strive to address all maintenance tickets within 24 hours and if there is a continued issue management needs to be notified. I have reviewed our ticket tracking and we are not aware of any outstanding AC issues! Thank you - The VUE Management
The Oasis stands alone as the premier student housing community for the students of Lynchburg! As a student who has lived here for the past 2 years, I can honestly say that it has been the best experience a student could desire. Quite literally, the Oasis meets every need a student could have and then some. I never once had problem with the high-speed wifi, and the 24 hour gym was extremely convenient! Management and maintenance were quite adept at handling any problems that did arise, which were rare and uncommon. Socially, you can't ask for more of a community feel to off campus housing. Living off campus as an undergraduate student, my studies were my primary focus, but I still had a desire to meet and enjoy friendships with new people. The courtyard, pool, and clubhouse are amazing facilities to do just that. I have enjoyed grilling, playing cornhole, and swimming in the pool with friends. Management hosted numerous cookouts for us and even put on movie nights on the humongous screen in the clubhouse! I can honestly say that I have made friendships here that will last a lifetime! Lastly, you can't ask for a more hassle free apartment. The apartment was furnished and had brand new appliances upon move in, and all extra bills are included. No fretting about extra fees or worrying about how much electricity your roommates are using! Best of all, if your roommate decides to up and leave in the middle of the semester, you're not stuck with the extra rent! It's all individual! Oh and they even came and took my trash out for me! Spoiled, I know. In all seriousness, I worked two jobs and was a full time student. Coming home to my apartment every night was a breath of fresh air. An oasis, you might say, in the desert that college can often be for the dedicated student.

The Vue has tons of amenities for the price and is a great way to be "off-campus" but still have a college atmosphere since it is only students. Move in was easy and staff was very helpful!

Their pool closes at only 9pm on the weekends. They highly overcharge. Roommates are too loud. The oasis doesn't send any reminders for rent but they don't allow me to set up an automated payment, only manual pay, so it's obvious they're deliberately trying to cause us tenants to forget the payment date so that they can charge us the late fee. That's so unprofessional and messed up. Also, the bus doesn't run on the weekends. Also, my room doesn't have a window which is depressing. I do not recommend this place. Also, I've emailed complaints to the manager and she never responds to me, which is also highly unprofessional.

Thank you for your review. In every floorplan there is an option to choose a room with or a room without a window before lease signing. There is LED lighting and a ceiling fan in the non-windowed rooms. Many of our nursing students and gamers enjoy this floorplan. If you wish to transfer room types, please contact the office and we will be happy to walk you through the process! I am sorry that your emails have not been responded to! Please call the office so we can confirm the correct email address with you, we strive to answer all emails within 1-2 business days. Our online payment portal is offered as a courtesy to our residents. We currently do not have an automatic payment option, but we are glad for your feedback regarding this. The rent due date does not change and is always due on the 1st of the month! Liberty University provides and controls the shuttle schedule to The Oasis. We suggest contacting their offices and letting them know your needs! Thank you! - VUE Management
I lived in the vue for 2 years. They tried to finesse me and my roommates multiple times. They don't keep their promises and will lie to you straight up if it's about money. We got our tv stolen and they made us pay for it rather than trying to catch the person who stole it. They don't care about the residents. All they're chasing for is money. Period. 100% don't recommend anyone to live here. Poor staffs, internet absolutely slower than a toddler crawling, and cheaply built apartments. Don't waste money.

Moved in two and a half years ago when it was first built and it’s been bad ever since. 1. They thought it would be done sooner but it wasn’t so I got a lease on a nonexistent apartment. 2. IT IS SO CHEAPLY MADE. 3. Management has changed several times. 4. The price is wayyyy more than what you actually get. 5. Internet never works so I can’t do homework!! It would be so perfect but it’s just too cheaply made. It’s nice how close it is to campus and all college kids but it’s not worth it.

Thank you for your feedback. We were able to provide housing options to the residents who were displaced after the delayed opening in 2015. Our pricing can be difficult to compare to the typical apartment, because unlike our competition everything is included in one low rent price. We've recently changed our pricing structure to assist shoppers and residents in comparing to other communities in town. The Oasis is the best deal for students! If you are a current resident and are continuing to have internet issues or maintenance issues, please let us know so that we can address them.
This place has good facilities, staff are helpful, maintenance is prompt, and the community is secure, but all of that is undone by the horrendously cheap construction of the complex itself. The walls have NO insulation. Which means you have to have the heat on constantly and can hear every little noise your neighbors make, and God help you if you live under a fat person. I am not exaggerating, the noise pollution is unbearable and makes this place completely UNLIVABLE. It's a shame they skimped on construction so badly but as is this place is not worth the massive rent fees. Steer clear.

Thank you for your feedback. We do agree that apartment living in general is noisier than living at a singe family home or possibly the LU dorms since RA’s keep a tight rein there. I do know that the Oasis was built with 6-inch thick exterior walls as well as the walls separating one apartment from another. The architect went above and beyond the required code and used 6-inch wide studs instead of 4-inch wide studs. This makes the walls 50% wider and 50% more insulation. The architects goal was to make them the most energy efficient homes and create extra noise barriers. Even with these extra thoughtful design elements, apartment living is still noisy. Ceiling fans were installed last summer and this white noise can minimize other noises. I would recommend trying the white noise app on your iphone (there are free ones) to help drown out other sounds like the apartment plumbing, bathrooms are usually stacked and so it is normal to hear plumbing above you. I apologize that you have been inconvenienced. Please let us know if these things help, but if they do not, please let us know as well. -The VUE Management
The place is so cheaply made. I was the first person to ever move into the exact number apartment that I am in and everything is either breaking or already broken. The management is awful, they talk down to you and are never able to help with anything. My roommate and I were previously harassed by the current property manager, with him yelling lies at us and taking pictures of us. I would never recommend anyone here. At first glance I thought the price was high but with the whole package it seemed like it was worth it. Never in a million years will it be. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
This community is brand new and looks very nice but living here for a few months, my refrigerator has leaked all over the floor, my closet light didn't work and when the switch was flipped on it would turn the tv off, and the most annoying problem has been the cabinet tops have peeled off. One other thing to keep in mind before moving here is the rooms are very very tiny.
Looks absolutely beautiful; would love to start a new life in Lynchburg with my daughter.
