I lived in this building for 2 years, around 1-2 roaches a year. However, the end of last year I had an almost daily occurrence with roaches in my kitchen, bathroom, and hallways for about a month. My unit has been approved by pest control that the roaches were not coming due to the cleanliness of the room, but the building itself. One was crawling outside my door and went into the cracks of the front door. I spent hundreds to roach proof my unit and locked most my belongings in plastic bins instead of the cupboards or closet due to the roach sightings there. I reached out to management, and was dismissed that I was not experiencing a roach infestation and was only flagged for the once a month pest control treatment. Communication was delayed regarding the matter and seeking out in-person conversations, I was left waiting for 40 minutes after being told that my concerns regarding personal expenses to roach proof and inability to use certain parts of the unit were "repetitive", thus not a priority to respond to. I was working with tenant's rights organizations and managed to break my lease, no penalty. I was told that it was a "courtesy you are able to leave". Please reconsider signing a lease here. It's worth noting that the building currently has a significant number of vacant units for the area and price, and is offering large referral incentives. This may be indicative of ongoing issues.

So happy to live here! I made a great choice. Great sense of community with the tenants and staff. My unit is very nice, I love the gym, the rooftop is nice when it's not freezing outside! The on site staff is quite helpful and friendly, and the location on lasalle is so perfect. The maintenance staff respond to work orders right away and the building is kept clean. The doorman always gives my dog King Louie a treat! I Love The Oliver! I would definitely recommend 10/10 to live here!

The Oliver is a great place to live if you’re looking for a studio apartment with access to Lincoln Park, Old Town, Gold Coast and downtown Chicago. There are multiple public transportation options as well. The staff have always been helpful.

The location could not be more perfect. Two steps outside of the house and the clark/division stop plus multiple bus routes are there. The area is very nice, does not feel shady or dangerous, and the Oliver provides plenty of building get togethers like smores nights or clothing drives!

Found the Oliver on apartments.com and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. The location is unmatched with only being a 15 minute walk to the lake as well as being right next to all the old town bars and Gold Coast shopping. The staff is great and attentive. If you’re looking to move to old town this is the place to be for a very affordable price as well.
The Oliver on LaSalle is in a perfect location, just steps from public transit, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores! The office and maintenance staff is beyond helpful, and are so friendly when you need anything. I have felt valued as a resident living here for the past 2 years or so.

Highly recommend the Oliver on lasalle! Great staff is wonderful. They are helpful and friendly. Wonderful location for walking to restaurants and shopping. Red line is right there as well. The renovated units are beautiful and the rooftop has great views, free internet, grills.

The location is perfect for what I wanted. On the tour the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I believe the renovations are complete, nicely done. Like the amenities, newly updated laundry, love the rooftop, even the exercise equipment makes me want to get fit! The best thing is the staff! Work orders are done quickly and the office staff can answer me questions! I've done a few resident activities, it's a nice way to get to know your neighbors!

We are going through a renovations project which includes elevator modernization and unit renovations which include paint and other products. We thank you for your patience during this project. Do not rent here. Thin walls, management responds only half the time, cockroaches on the main floor, “security” on the main level let homeless in, homeless people sleeping all over the front courtyard, construction nonstop, for the past few months only 4-5 washer dryers in use at best for the whole building. I could go on and on.

The management dynamic / housing situation not loyal to the residents. There is heavy construction throughout the building that prevents any work from home capabilities (i.e., hammerings, sanding, etc.) and painting that tracks dust all throughout apartments. Further, when painting occurs inside the apartment, a mess is left behind. Additionally, the building seldom had security guards at the front door allowing homeless people to sleep in the lobby and packages to be stolen.

I have lived in Chicago for over 10 years ( Uptown, Pilsen, Bridgeport, South Loop, Gold Coast, Hyde Park, Wicker Park) This is the perfect building if you want a quick walk to the CTA, great restaurants, and outdoor space. The common areas are well maintained and staff incredibly helpful. The front desk staff are always available to assist you. Unlike other apartments in this area, there is a great diversity of tenants. An awesome combination of students, singles, couples, and even families. This building is extremely dog friendly, which is hard to find in the city. My dog and I love our home.
This place was still under construction when I visited it and it was a hard hat tour. The amenities are awesome, te staff is amazing, but personally, I don't want to live in a shack. The bedroom is tiny, the living room is tiny, everything is tiny. I've seen studios that trump this place hands down. I am sure that it will be nice, but not for me.
