Welcome to Chelsea, the art district of Manhattan. Home to more than 200 art galleries, Chelsea is one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods, complete with museums, waterfront views, and historic brownstones dating back to the early 1800s.
What’s it like to live in Chelsea? This neighborhood is loved by residents for its walkability and multitude of entertainment options. Chelsea is located along the Hudson River in Midtown Manhattan, with Lower Manhattan to the south and Hell’s Kitchen to the north. The neighborhood is home to the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Rubin Museum of Art, the Manhattan Mall, and Penn Station. It extends from 14th Street north to 34th Street, and from the river east to 6th Avenue.
Built in the 1890s, Chelsea Market is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the neighborhood’s most-loved destinations. This giant shopping and dining destination covers an entire city block and is home to boutiques, restaurants, and offices.

Property Ratings at The Olivia
Great place to live but under a lot of maintenance all the time. Laundry room still not done? but we got reimbursed through $30 amex gift cards per month!
As the building has been renovated, I've lived in it. The building and security are great, but to have services like Laundry "on-prem" and then have it taken away for more than half a year, it's still a bit of chaos living in the building. I do like the higher end touches in the newly remodeled apartment. The only thing that really needs to change is just finishing the construction. I imagine I would give it 5 stars if it was all done.
Good building with great staff. Amazing front desk concierge and everybody responds quickly and efficiently. Neighbors are a little loud and the renovations are a little bit of a hassle but overall love being a resident here.
Always on top of whatever I need. Love the fact I feel like they Genuinely care about the Tenants.
The building is fantastic. The location is in the middle of the action of New York. The apartment has a lot of high-end finishes. Finally, the Management is very attentive, easy to work with and get along with and you can tell they genuinely care about the building and tenants. I would recommend moving here to anyone!
Everything good
Convenient location, but the amenities need an update
AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I stayed here for 4 years and when I left they never gave me back my rent deposit of almost $4000. SL Green recently took over management of the building said that I left the apartment in good condition and my deposit would be returned in full. But the rent deposit check was never mailed out, and was in "processing" for months by their accounting department for. It never mailed out, and sadly I fear I'll never see it again. I have filed a compliant with the NY City Attorney General. Anyway my recommendation is to avoid staying at this place or if you do stay here be sure not to provide a deposit because you will likely never see it again!
My experience at The Olivia was mostly awesome. My apartment was on the left side of the building so I had the most incredible view of lower manhattan. Because The Olivia sits rights across the street from the NY post office, the view will never be anything but incredible. The freedom tower GLOWS at night and for this reason alone I gave the apartment 3 stars. I added another star for the building's incredible gym, rooftop and decor. Its stunning. When you're working out you get the manhattan skyline in the background, and its so inspiring. The rooftop has cool furniture, incredible views and sometimes a party/event. I took away a star for the MEAN MEAN MEAN doorman. My doorman at the Olivia hated me, for no reason. He was incredibly rude to any guests I had over and particularly gave me a hard time ALWAYS. I also didnt care for the Olivia's location. Its RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from MSG and Penn Station. A lot of homeless people and tourists. But on the plus side, theres police and a duane reade within steps. Overall I loved the Olivia, it just had very minor annoyances!!!
