Loud neighbors, apartments always smell like smoke, roaches!

The apartments are overrun with roaches and spiders. Gnats are always in the kitchen. My ceiling fell in and yet they steady increasing rent. So glad I'm moving

The office staff is very friendly and professional, especially Ebony she makes the process go smooth and easy. If you are looking for a nice apartment with reasonable price and friendly staff then this is the place for you. Give them a try you will be satisfied!

Communication with them, whether office staff or corporate, is like communicating with a brick wall: there is no communication. The staff are unprofessional and have little to no knowledge about anything in the office. The complex is unsafe, but that didn’t seem to be prior to them. Myself, as well s as others I know, have been charged false fees after move out, and those fees were never communicated to us for the issue to be resolved.

To our surprise these apartments ended being better than we expected. It became our home. Our maintenance was always so helpful, they always fixed everything fast. The pool is always open and clean which isn't common most places. We loved the free gym membership. There was a few issues with noise at time but what else can you expect from a place full of college kids. It was never too bad to keep us up or anything like that. Never had a problem with bugs or animals of any kind. Our neighbors were friendly, a little crazy but nice and kept to themselves. There is trash from time to time but the guys are always trying hard to pick it up ASAP. It is old and poorly repainted, etc but it does the job and with some decor its not even noticeable. Great Location, I will never get enough of it!! You get your moneys worth if not more because I've heard of other people not get AC fixed within months or their amenities aren't even usable. The bugs are so bad here you can barely eat in peace without a bug nearby. Gnats are ALWAYS in my apartment in the summertime, which I've heard is a problem in a few apartments. Gross. The ROACHES are horrific! Then they don't have real trash service. Just dumpsters in the very back of the units , so inconvenient. But steady increasing the rent. I cannot wait to MOVE!

I lived at this apartment for 5 years, and as a college apartment it does the job. The staff is wonderful, the maintenance is prompt, and the price is affordable. I would advise anyone with intent to move here Google the apartment name with the "News" tags selected and read up on headlines of what has occurred over the past few years though. Efforts have been made to make the apartments safer at night, but it hasn't helped much. Also, if a unit above or beside you has a Pot smoker, the smell will reach you. Invest in Febreeze cause nothing will be done about it.

The overlook as place is not bad, it is a good place to live. But the new management is least helpful and make false promises and make false accusations. They give us notice for inspection and never show up, and later write you up for damages which were not even there.

A car was completely shot up outside my bedroom window with everything stolen out of it. It was so common to hear gunshots almost every single night. I would be woken up at night with police lights in my window. They took my deposit and won’t tell me exactly what the charges were for, even though I meticulously cleaned the apartment when i moved out. The apartments are old, the carpet was stained, cockroaches were everywhere, you can hear your neighbors conversations through the walls, the staff are RUDE and never want to help you. I had a man put his hands in the window of my car because I didn’t want to give him money for gas. This place is so unsafe. DONT live here.

Awesome Location and the property is well maintained.

Please do not move to this roach infested mess of an apartment. These are the biggest roaches I have ever seen and whatever they spray does not kill them. I also had an issue where there was mold in the apartment comong from the old windows and all the maintenance man did was wipe it with mean green and paint over the spot. Some of the "large" apartments does not have a real laundry room so your washer might be in a closet and a dryer in your bedroom. There is not a vent for the dryer and so your apartment will be hot while trying to dry your clothes. This has been one of the worse set of staff that I have ever had to deal with in my life. They will lie and try to overcharge you so please keep up with all receipts. If they promise you anything.....GET IT IN WRITING. Finally free from this place.

I've lived here a few months and I haven't had many issues. I've only needed maintenance a few times and they have always been very good about getting to me the same day or following day. The main complaint I have is that there are only dumpsters in the back of the complex which can be rather inconvenient. People also tend to speed and blast music. But it's less than $500 a month for me which includes rent and water so I can't complain much. I haven't had any issues with my neighbors and everyone is pretty friendly!

I enjoy where I'm at. Friendly service and quiet needs three bedrooms

I moved into the complex in 2011. At that time, the complex was under different management than we have now. Since the main complex manager changed, the overall quality of the complex changed in a negative way. The complex runs a background check on you prior to moving in. Initially, if you had any criminal history, you would not be allowed to live in the complex. That has since changed. An apartment complex is truly a reflection of its renters. Other than the atmosphere of the complex, The Overlook is very enjoyable. Its very conveniently located in North Huntsville, close to Bridge Street Shopping Center and walking distance from The University of Alabama, Huntsville. The office staff are very, very knowledgeable and helpful, and the maintenance staff is great. My apartment never has issues and if it does, the maintenance crew takes care of it right away. This complex is also great for college students.
