On the eastern bank of the Hudson River lies the suburb of Troy, New York. With a population of almost 50,000, Troy is an affordable city with great rental opportunities. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Russel Sage College are two great universities in Troy.
Golfing is common in Troy with the a 247-acre public course with 18-holes, an ice rink, tennis courts, and a nature trail that surrounds Bradley Lake. Frear Park Municipal Golf Course is a great place for the family, located on Lavin Court. Closer to Hudson River on River Street, there are notable bars and restaurants such as Brown’s Brewing, classic American grub, and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, southern-style meats and draft brews in a retro setting.
After you become a resident of Troy, travel over to the river and get a drink at Lucas Confectionery, an industrial-chic wine bar, and visit Riverfront Park to enjoy the picturesque views of Hudson River.

Property Ratings at The Overlook
I lived here for two years and had a very pleasurable experience. Jordan is pleasure to talk to, very punctual and professional. Maintenances attention to work orders was never delayed. Anything communication was a breeze, you can pay the rent though an app on your phone. Gated entry, private parking, cameras. Very private and a steal for the niceness of the unit. The only utility is electric and wifi which is very reasonably priced, there is also a solar team that comes yearly to discount the electric bill. Theres also two other buildings owned by this company. Units are being updated regularly and they service the AC and heating units regularly.
Don’t be fooled by the updated apartments and first look of this place, it sucks. Front door lock has been broken for months, they attempt to fix it and it breaks at least once a week, locking people out of the building at late hours of the night. Because of this door locking problem, the door is also left open so people don’t get locked out, and packages were stolen by the handful last week. Apartments are extremely noisy and the lights shake when the people above even walk around. Parking is a joke, and there’s not enough spots for the amount of people that live here. Trash is not removed often enough, and the bins are overflowing and stink. The neighborhood is also very sketchy. The list goes on and on.
jordan is very very rude tried contacting him about an apartment and he hung up on me and my father! if they treat potential customers like that i can only imagine how poor they treat their tenants. i DO NOT advise anyone going here and the area is not safe at all.
Place always smells like weed. Packages are stolen that people order that are left in by the mailboxes. Mice are in the apartments. Washing machines are broke. People's cars are broke into. Lived there for 5 yrs and had 4 management companies. So many people have committed suicide or overdosed over the years. Goodluck to whomever moves in there.
We have been looking and looking for a place like this. Great complex, great management with nearby amenities. Hard to beat this place. I hesitate telling too many people about it but I got all my friends to move here.
