Property Ratings at The Parc at East Fifty First
MANAGEMENT IS AWFUL, WILL TAKE EVERY PENNY THEY CAN. I felt mislead and taken advantage of any time I had an interaction with the management. I would never live here again would recommend to anyone to find a different complex. The units and property are nice, the only issue I had with the units (and other tenants have told me the same) is that their windows don't latch. When a work order was put in, they did not fix it an claimed it was due to the windows being "new" and just needed to "settle". It was not a concern that anybody can break into any apartment (half are ground floor) through the window. If you have a dog, there is a $400 "pet fee" that is stated to cover any potential damages the pet causes to the apartment. This is not on top of the cleaning fees they will stick you with when you move out (defleaing and carpet cleaning) that come out of your security deposit. The $400 does not cover anything related to damages, it simply comes out of your pocket. They were also misleading with their buy out policy for exiting your lease early. I spoke with the assistant, Sophia, asking about the policy and she informed me the buyout was 25% the remainder of my lease plus one month. I asked repeatedly if I would owe anything after said payout and she assured me I would not. However, upon delivery of the buyout check she informed me that the number she gave me was just the buyout fee and I still owed 60 days' worth of rent. I ended my lease 2 months and 11 days early and only saved $700 due to all the added fees. Since I moved out before the end of my lease and took my pet with me, I asked they take the pet rent off my monthly bill. They refused stating it was still part of the rent that I was responsible for, even though the pet was no longer in the apartment. These are just a few of the examples in which I believe the management is not fulfilling their contractual responsibilities. When speaking with management it is their way or the highway. I am very disappointed in my experience at this establishment.
Property Manager at The Parc at East Fifty First, Responded To This Review
Hi Kelsey, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We would have appreciated the opportunity to address the window issue, but after reviewing our records, it appears we were not notified of this concern during your stay. As for the pet fee and early lease termination, we follow the terms outlined in the lease agreement. We’d be happy to review the details with you if you'd like to discuss them further. We truly wish you all the best in your next chapter. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss anything in more detail, feel free to reach out.
DarLynn went above and beyond to help my husband & I get moved into an apartment in a very quick timeframe. She seemed to truly care about making sure everything worked out for us. She was wonderful!
The property management refuse to remove ice and snow. One of my neighbors sprained an ankle at the front gate and they still will not do anything about it. They are so worried about being liable if they take responsibility they they will let people get hurt regardless of the fact that they rely on the lease agreement that says they are not liable for injury. The dog park gate has been broken for months. They want you to pick up your dog poop but all the stations are empty of bags more often than not. The dumpsters are always full so you have to put your trash on the side of the dumpster and they won’t pick that up so it just gets to be a nasty, stinking mess. During this snow storm, people are outside with dustpans trying to clear a way just to get out so they can go to work. The manager at the leasing office claims that there is no business contact for their boss so I could not speak to them directly to find out when JRK will bestow this “courtesy” of clearing the parking lots. When I first moved in my building had a mouse problem because despite paying for pest control monthly, you had to specifically request to get it. The dog wash has not worked since I’ve lived here. When I (or other neighbors) brought it up with the leasing office, they argued or placated before doing nothing. The turnover rate in the leasing office is ridiculous, so many different people being hired and quitting, and now I know why. Residents complain about very reasonable things and they don’t (or claim they can’t) do anything about it. And if you don’t believe this one review against the other 7, ask someone who lives here and doesn’t work for JRK. This place is too expensive for these problems.
Have stayed here for a year but it seems that every time I email the staff a question, I never get a timely response nor one at all sometimes. The condition of the apartment is Great! but I am constantly having issues with the staff. Some information that I had informed one staff member on, would not be relayed to the other staff member, making me have to explain things twice, even after one would claim to let the other know. It has gotten frustrating to deal with..
The property and units are nice however, rent prices are misleading. Depending on where your unit is located, parking is limited. Gym area is small and sometimes unsupervised children are on the equipment playing. You pay for pest control through you utility bill, however, you have to request them to come and spray. There is no regular scheduled pest control or maintenance. I had to put in an order to have the air filter changed. Maintenance guy is timely, so I don't fault him for that. Pool area is nice, but beware if you have children, drinking is allowed. This property is more "big" dog friendly then I care for. This is not a kid friendly complex as there is no play area for children other than the pool. I was a good tennant and gave proper notice, even moved out a few days earlier than planned and 60 days later, I still have not received my deposit.
I absolutely love these apartments! Savannah is amazing, she stayed after hours to help me fill out my rental application. I love how quiet and safe this place is. I feel like the prices are pretty good, especially considering all of the amenities. Very happy I found this place!
Very quiet, well-kept small community. Friendly people in the neighborhood & VERY pet friendly. Our dog loves going to the dog park here to play with neighbor friends. Clean grounds & easy access parking. All our maintenance requests have been tended to quickly & any questions we've had for the office have been answered in a timely fashion. Melinda & Kristen in the office & Carlos in Maintenance are part of the great staff working here. We really love this place.
These apartments feel so safe and there’s always a close place to park near your door even if you come home late. If something breaks or isn’t working like it was they will go there that day and fix it. The leasing staff has changed a couple times but the manager has been the same the whole six months we’ve been here and she is VERY responsive to emails and Really seems to care about resident requests. They give out awesome prizes at the Christmas party and left goodies at our door for valentines and Easter. The door decorating contests are fun for everyone as well. The community itself backs up to trees and nature. Bring your binoculars to get a close glimpse of the hawks and cardinals because they have nests in the trees nearby.
They are very rude, ive lived here for over a year and witnessed the 2 office ladies being rude to a woman trying to find her husband. The poor woman had been minding her own business or hours just sitting next to her husband's car in the rain. I believe she was so frustrated she just knocked on doors looking for him. They to her to leave and she asked if she could leave a note on his car they said no. She said she lived about 40 miles away and had no car. They didn't care or listen, they called the police and the woman had to walk. Now how hard would it have been to find her husband and tell him she was there? They both were just heartless. They should be ashamed..
These apartments are exactly how see them, spacious, comfortable and are well maintained. Rooms and living room have big space. Neighbors are friendly, have plenty of parking areas. Pool area is great and have plenty of chairs and tables. The playground for the kids is just great. A fun place for the kids! Great living area with stores and restaurants close by. You have a good shopping variety around these apartments. Manager and staff are very helpful and always do their best to accommodate your needs and treat you with respect. You feel right at home as you walk in the doors. Definitely a place you want to check out and live at!
