As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at The Park at Buckingham
Communication is poor over the phone and through email
Been left in a roach infested apartment since I moved in back in June. Been without out a fridge the whole time. They will not move me to a new unit. Don’t waste your time and money here
We lived here for a total of 2 1/2 months until we broke our lease because of 3 major leaks in our unit in a span of 1 1/2 months. Someone living above us threw cooking grease over the rail most of the time we were there and staff never cleaned it, nor left notes on the doors like they said they were going to do (several times). The last 3-4 weeks of being there, we started smelling marijuana coming into our apartment from our neighbors.
The Park at Buckingham is great. The apartment itself is cozy once settled in. The staff is excellent, whenever I came across a problem they were always there to help. My experience here has been positive. I would recommend this complex to anyone.
I must say that the staff is truly amazing they help me whenever I call and the Maintenance crew are great at what they do I would tell everyone to give them a try you wouldn’t be disappointed
I am in a "renovated" apartment, paying for a premium rate. The renovations consisted of: replacing the counter tops, sloppily putting down faux hardwood, and adding a tile backsplash. My appliances are from around 1970. TL;DR: These apartments are shabby. Maintenance is barely passable to sloppy. Don't live here if you can afford not to -The gate does not work. It has never worked. I created a gate code on move in. This was advertised as a gated community. -It's not in a nice area. Aspen Circle has a high number of breaking and enterings compared to other places in the area. The entrance is by a gas station, a low end mechanic shop, used car dealership, an abandoned building with cars on flats in the lot, and a run down strip mall, also with cars on flats. -Room not cleaned on my move in. This included: food stains on the carpet, dirt and debris, bobby pins in the edges of the carpet and window sills. -On my move in the bottom of the cabinet under the sink was rotted from a leak. -The kitchen sink drain leak persists after submitted multiple maintenance requests. -The roof leaked above my kitchen sink, enough to make the sheet rock spongy and cut tracks into the paint. Took ~2 months to fix. -Another leak developed above my bathroom and leaked brownish water everywhere -Shingles visibly need replaced -Leasing office is not open on weekends, and closes at 5 on weekdays -Apartments were carelessly painted. Paint on the edges of the carpet, windows, and bizarrely, on electrical sockets and light switch covers -Sockets are old and do not hold plugs well. -Insulation is bad. My electrical bill is way too high for this apartment, and I keep my air at 78. -My fire extinguisher was not charged on move in, pin pulled -Many mailboxes have missing doors. -Laundry room is in disrepair. The A/C does not work, the floor is dirty and the linoleum tiles are loose, torn, and missing. -Laundry room requires a card to pay, which can only be reloaded with 5, 10, and 20 dollar bills with a machine in the office -Shelves are made of cheap wood that have sagged since being installed in 1970 -Half of the pantry is inaccessible. -Shower head in my bathroom was too low -Tub drain was not cleaned, covered in the previous tenant's hair, gunk, paint, tape. -While on hair, I have found the previous tenant's hair everywhere, even in the paint on the baseboards. -Island thing in the kitchen will not support much weight. The supports are made of split, warped, dry scrap wood.
Let me start by saying that the management and maintenance were on top of things right away whenever I call them. They are friendly and professional. 24 hour security and valet trash pickup make this an even better place to live.
They have a different definition of a gated community. Here it means they have gates but they are never closed so no problem driving/walking in. You don't need the gate fob they give you. Also, the exercise room is great if you don't actually have a regular job with corresponding hours. Center is open 8am to 5pm. Actual apartment is pretty nice.
I have lived here since July of 2016, I moved from out of state and the roof in my apartment has been leaking since then! When it rains there's Niagara Falls in my bathroom and management has yet to do anything about it. I get the run around and every time that I go and inquire about the issue I'm treated as if no one knows the issue. Contractors are being sent to do patch jobs on the inside of my apartment but management has NOT sent anyone to fix the roof which, is the root of the problem so I expect my ceiling to cave when it rains. There has to be mold in the ceiling by now. Roaches are also a huge issue here, when I complained I was told that an exterminator would come and that proved to fix nothing. I wish I'd read reviews before I moved here. please don't waste your time or money!!!
The staff was very patient and attentive to my needs. I was very impressed by the way the attendant took her time and explored all of the various options that fit me and my family needs. The attendant even stayed later than her designated time and that really made us feel that she was dedicated to her job dedicated to her job and and to the people that she served.
We moved out of here almost 5 months ago but they won't give back our deposit saying that our last check to pay for the rent of last week can’t be deposit which is totally lie (thank god we ask for receipt when we gave them the check)! We check with the bank, everting’s normal, the check has been cashed and we send them the proof. They said they will look into it and it might take a month. Later we went back and ask, they said they changed manager and she’s busy to getting familiar with her work. So we waited another 2 weeks or so and contact them again. Guess what, they said they change manager AGAIN and she’s busy working on people’s deposits so we’d better email her!!! We should never trust them again because we emailed her and wait and wait and email her again and wait but NO RESPOND AT ALL!!! They are SO GREEDY and DON’T TRUST THEM!!! I don’t know what excuse they will have next time in order to EAT OUR DEPOSIT!!!!
I've been staying here at now, The Park at Buckingham for about 3 years. I love the area and management is so helpful. I'm renting a 1bed/1bath that really spacious and the proposed remodeling will really bring a modern flare to it. The complex isn't huge so it feels safe and I love that their is accommodations for dog owners.
I love the apartment location . Quick to response with maintenance issue .
I knew this was home when I first entered the complex. It was my first and ONLY choice. The staff is always polite and accommodating. There are plenty of activities, restaurants and stores in the local area. The school system is one the best in the nation. Security has never been an issue. The gym, tennis court, volley ball court, playgrounds and pools are kept in excellent condition. The main office is also open to the residents to watch movies, play pool, host parties, have coffee and computers are also available. You are always home wherever you go.
My apartment smells like wild animals and I'm scared that my children may get sick. Please HELP!!
This apartment is OK, but it is just that and nothing else. Maintenance is horrible and the water is always child, even when you do want it to be. I can't wait to move somewhere that's at least average! My apartment is out dated and the carpet holds an awkward smell.. Most of my money is spent on air fresheners.. Smh
Park at Buckingham is a lovely community and has a very welcoming staff that is here to be on your side when needed. Its clean, quiet and a safe place I can honestly call my new home. The neighbors are very welcoming and polite. I can honestly say I have chosen the right place to lay my head down. Most places where I have stayed has given me problems after problems. To come to the Buckingham is just like yesssss I'm home. I just want to Thank and appreciate my new loving home even though it's a studio, it's just the right size for me ????
The gym hasn't been available since I moved in, and that's one of there selling points. The upgrades in my apartment didn't match the model I was shown, it was shabby work, and I paid extra monthly rent for the upgraded apartment.
The rent for these apartment average from 740 for a 1 bedroom to 1120 for 3 but the trash is always on the ground the neighbors are noisy and the management staff does not care after they get you moved in. Repairs are never done no matter how many times you ask. The remodel is nice at first and then it starts falling apart because the job was poorly done. Move in at your own risk!
My girlfriend and I have been here for 11 months and haven't had much problems out of the apartment. Recently, our sink has stopped up constantly and maintenance takes forever to respond.... If they even do. But no complaints, roof over our head. Staff changes regularly aloe
