Separated from Eugene and the University of Oregon by the Willamette River and I-5, Springfield is a terrific city with wooded neighborhoods, mountain views, amazing outdoor adventures -- and yes, it is that Springfield. Matt Groening is an Oregon native, after all, and he based his fictional town of "Springfield" in the animated Simpsons series after Springfield, Oregon. The city even offers an unofficial Simpsons tour of Springfield, and some of the similarities are uncanny. For example, there really is a stylized horse statue at the entrance to the city, and Max's Tavern is claimed to have inspired the show's Moe's Tavern -- it is eerily similar. Max's opened in 1932, and it is rumored that Groening spent his college years in the tavern, sketching.
And while you won't be able to head out of your Springfield apartment to enjoy a Duff's beer, you will find a Moe's Tavern, and the city is known for its craft beer. It is also known for its outdoor adventures.

Property Ratings at The Park at Emerald Village
I've lived here sense 2011 low crime. Not perfect but I've had very few problems here. We have a good set of fix it people. Polite managers that try to help when they can. I've had few issues. But it's apartment living. So whatever drama happens you just handle it or you stick to yourself. Like I do mainly. I do recommend it.
RENTER RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK . . . This complex is infested with bugs. In fact it is so bad that the only way to get rid of problem is by shaving your child's head. Also, this is supposed to be a low income & HUD Approved housing unit; however, it is unsafe due to the drug paraphernalia being left behind on the playground. Several children have found needles in the castle area where drug users like to congregate at night to use. Management is fully aware of the situation but does not believe tenets when they complain - instead they accuse the tenets of causing the situation and refuse to take care of it. Neighbors are unfriendly and more likely to report back to management that you are neglecting your children, too loud, or anything else they think will get you kicked out rather than keeping to themselves because management has asked this of them.
Love my apartment. Hope I can stay here! The management is super friendly and they work with people.
