Property Ratings at The Park at Steele Creek
Read carefully: I moved in with promises from them to do the repairs needed and get rid of the infested Bugs & mold. 2 years later, The roaches never go away but You pay for pest control smh!! You pay for a broken playground. For my 1st year the pool was close which I’m charged monthly. With the bug ingestion I can’t even invite guest over, embarrassing, Eat or sleep comfortably!! This is a horrible place to live with your family. The apartments are old inside & out!! I wish I could rate 0 stars. I’ve dealt with a lot. The office is so rude!! I lived here for 2 years, they changed 3 diff office managers and they still don’t know what they are doing or how to treat their tenants with respect. The manager now is so rude!! She wouldn’t allow me to pay rent and talk/treat me like a peasant. I did not deserve how she was talking to me, she lied on me. I voice myself and told her I didn’t like how I was treated she lied and lock me out the office. Currently trying to get code in forces involved which I should’ve a long time ago. I hope I can prevent anyone from going thru this. Don’t give up here keep searching you’ll find home with a clean community. Please don’t trust 5 stars rating because as you will see they’re not reviews from an over all experience living at park at steele creek!! thank me later!! 1 month my lease is up.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a positive review. We're so happy you had a 5-star experience with us at Park at Steele Creek! We are so happy to have you.
I've lived in quite a few apartment complexes travelling for work, and The Park at Steele Creek has been one of the best in terms of service & amenities. I never have to wait multiple days for service nor do I have to battle management for help. It's been a pleasure.

The park at steel creek is a wonderful neighborhood!!
The community has made so many improvements and more on the way. The staff are courteous and always helpful. The location is in a great spot with everything you need readily accessible. I feel safe here. I've lived here almost 2 years and I'll be renewing my lease again.

Hello we are happy to hear you will call The Park at Steele Creek home for another year, thanks for your review.
I have been here a little under a month and the service team in this community responds very quickly the management office also responds quickly to any issues I may have would definitely recommend
I have lived here for exactly a week the office associates are very nice and the maintenance department is doing a great job. In just the week that I have been here they have been doing a lot of work around the community to make everything look very nice.
Do not let the model apartment fool you. They have roaches, it took months for me to get cabinets in my kitchen. My shower still has not gotten fixed. there are holes still in my wall, bad paint job, the toilet leaks in the hall bath, I can not wait to leave!!!!!!!!
Es verdad q es un lugar tranquilo y centro de comodidad en sus alrededores a favor del cliente
This is the worst decision I have made. First they showed me the model and apparently I was going to get the exact same apt just another building. I did not see ny apartament after I signed my paperwork. When I got to the apartment it was not the same. Cabinets in bathrooms were not the same. They looked horrible and their explanation was that some times some apartments are the exception. Clearly mine was one. The carpet was horribly stained , walls were dirty with stains from previous people living there and BATHROOMS had molded seals and dirty like somebody have been using them for a month. Their excuse was that I was in a rush to move, when the apt was like that and empty more than a week. They just have poor service. I argued and fought for my lease because I was not going to move in like that.... they waited and waited until it was the next month so they could tell me that even though I only signed a week ago and I didnt moved it I had to pay another month , 2 months basically to get out. They kept my security deposit plus I had to pay another month. I ended up losing 3,000 in 10 days for this crappy company.
Mold. Roaches. Horrible staff. Paper thin walls. Dirty. I tried to get out of my lease with 30 days and still couldn’t. I personally watched one of my neighbors move in and out with two weeks. It’s a joke. Trash everywhere. Young kids in the steps outside of your apartment. And they have the audacity to raise the rent. Please save your self.
Please DO NOT get your money tied up with these people! They are a complete rip off!!! I paid the application and Administration fee at the time I applied online. I was then told I had to pay this outrageous amount for a security deposit. I couldn't afford it so requested my administration fee back and was told its non refundable because I did get approved. Really?! If I could afford it, I would move in. PLEASE BEWARE!!
Great community! Toured over the weekend and loved it.
I'm planning to move to North Carolina in June., so I came to the property last week for a tour. Victor and Shelly were excellent!!
I will be moving in and love the new look of the apartments. Great Pricing and great office staff ! I am excited! Thank you Victor and Shelly!
I love how close this is to shopping, amusement park, and food! The office staff has recently changed and I am really proud to say they are helping me a lot! Come visit Park at Steele Creek, you won't be disappointed.
I currently live here and will not be renewing my lease. I’ve been here less than a year and I can tell you about 5 other tenants that’s I’ve spoken to personally stated they had the same ongoing issue with the apartments. If I can add pictures I will if not ask to see your apartment before moving in. You’ll see mold on the windows I even had a mushroom growing in my bathroom. Good luck
This place seemed like the perfect place. Until I started doing business with them. They kept switching my apartment saying it wasn't ready, pushed my move in date 3 times after I had signed the lease, miss quoted me 2 times, I ended up paying more than I was originally quoted. 9 times out of 10 they refuse to answer the phone and you have to physically drive to the office to get a response. The customer service is nonexistent and they never follow through. They tried to charge me a 200 dollar fee for not having renters insurance when they had it since the day I moved in and they forgot to fax it to the head quarters. As well as on there renters portal all these ghost charges with no description kept getting added on my account saying I owed an extra 300 dollars. And even after I've talked to the property manager and went through my entire payment history to prove I didn't owe it, it still hasn't been fixed in 3 months. The property manager is condescending and acts like you are a number and doesn't care. The community itself has so many drugs it's not even funny and cars always racing on the road adjacent. I've also had to have maintenance out to fix crap here 4 times in the first month(garbage disposal, fridge, toilet, breakers tripping, lights flickering and making buzzing noises)and the carpet looked clean originally until the stains start resurfacing about a week into it. This is currently the worse decision I have ever made and I can't wait until my lease is up. RUN!
The application fee is too much for how mediocre the place is. it took over 4 weeks to process the application and weeks for our welcome letter to come in. The model apartment looks NOTHING like the apartments you’re renting. The leasing agents have bad attitudes when you bring up an issue. Just don’t waste your time. It’s outdated and over priced i’m so happy i saw the place before i signed the lease. Walking into what would’ve been “our” apartment was literally out of a movie. Spiders in the corners, water marks on the ceiling, smelt like old mold, it was crazy. don’t do it!
I moved in 3 months ago. When looking for a place to call home in Charlotte I look every where. I came across The Park. They made it easy and help me get an apartment fast. I'm glad i moved here. The staff is great and helpful.
I have rented before and have never experienced anything like this. Trash....everywhere. Piled high pretty much everywhere by he end of the week. There are too many apartments for the one trash they have. There is glass in the playground equipment and even have found razor blades in the grass. Not safe. They had the slide propped up with a huge piece of concrete. The pool literally stinks, I used to go a few times a week at my old complex but I couldn’t stomach putting my son in that pool more than once this year. The maintenance sometimes doesn’t even show, even in emergencies. My neighbors house was on fire and nobody ever came. They didn’t even get the water out till weeks later and now my new neighbors have a lot of mold. We have had leaks too where I had to hire our own plumber even once when the toilet wouldn’t work, so twice now I’ve hired someone to come out because they didn’t show. Not to mention, my car has been towed twice from outside despite being registered to my apartment. It’s less than 2 weeks till Christmas and they towed my car. The Park at Steele Creek has robbed Christmas...move over Grinch. It’s obviously a joke, but these living conditions are not. I literally broke my toe 2 weeks ago because a cabneint fell off when I reached for it. I have been locked out twice because my door knob has fallen off. The dishwasher even has mold in it. I just can’t handle much more here. And with all these issues, they are more concerned with towing resident’s property. Makes me literally sick to think about this. Stay away.
Love the apartment. Taylor, keys, and the area Property manager are amazing keep up the great work you all
If I could rate this place with 0 stars I would. Living here was an absolute horrible experience. When we moved in, it took a total of 6 months for the A/C unit to be repaired. Our dishwasher went out, and when maintenance replaced it they failed to hook it up properly and it flooded part of the apartment. When maintenance came to fix that issue, they did not know how to clean up water on carpet which led to water damage. Worst of all, there is black mold in the apartment. The management at the Park at Steel Creek is awful. It takes daily calls to have anything repaired, and you can expect to receive a bad attitude from customer service. Communication is also awful. If there is a delay in a repair or other requests, they will not tell you unless you ask. You can't receive any help from the property management, as you are sent directly to an automated voicemail when you call them. Customer satisfaction is less than a priority. We left the apartment complex as soon as we were able to. When we gave them our 60 day notice, management failed to report it in their system even though I was provided with documentation confirming the 60 day notice was received. When I went to pay our final bill (prorated for part of the month) I found a bill for the entire month and had to call management to have it resolved. They asked that I provide them a copy of the 60 day confirmation that THEY gave ME. So unless you want to deal with utilities that do not work, bad management/customer service, and black mold, I would highly recommend looking else where in the Charlotte area. I am not one to leave bad reviews, but if I could multiple times for The Park at Steele Creek I would.
I applied at this property the beginning of July for a July 20th move in date. I toured the apartment and applied in the office with the leasing agent, and paid a $225 application fee. I never once was told about the status off my application, I was repeatedly ignored by Dawn, the property manager, ignored by the corporate email, and had to find another apartment last minute. I finally was able to get ahold of someone in the office the end of July. She promised she would rectify the situation but soon there was no reply from her as well. When I called to get some answers and to get my $225 refunded back to me since I was never even given the option of moving in, I was told that there has been some staffing changes and neither of the two people that I had spoken with were employed there. How hard is it to check company email after someone leaves to make sure that your tenants are being taken care of? I was told that I was approved for the lease (even though no one had ever communicated that to me and I was completely ignored when I tried to find out, leaving me stranded and almost homeless after my last lease ended), that I was speaking to the new property manager and that she would be calling corporate to get some resolution. However, its been a week and I am yet to hear from her or very refunded my WASTED deposit. THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED AND INCOMPETANT. DO NOT APPLY HERE. I am now in the process of getting help from legal aide to try to sort this issue out and get my $225 Back. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!!!!!!!

That being said, can you please reach out to us directly to address this matter? While you are not a resident here, we do wish you well in your new home and hope to come to a resolution.
Its our first time living in and apartment complex and I must admit it has being great. We moved from MA last year and with no prior notice, we stopped by the leasing office went on a tour fell in love with the complex, got approved the same day and signed our lease the following day. It was a welcome that my family and I wanted after the long road trip. Our leasing agent Trice made it so easy and hassle free during the moving process, she recommend places to get furniture, people to help with lifting and wasn't bothered at all with 101 questions that I had. Management is very helpful and not just about getting the bigger dollar because before moving into the model floor plan, another apartment came available and the manager offered thinking we can save money. We got our apartment very clean with freshly painted walls and new carpet. The maintenance team is very attentive, they work quickly, clean and are very polite (always). The complex is pretty close to shopping, food, gas and basically everything that we wanted. All in all, its a great place to live and I don't regret moving here... Oh, my aunt moved in another apartment on the complex a couple months after and I'm sure she has no regrets!
My daughter and I love The Park at Steele Creek! The grounds are kept very well, the staff is very professional and understanding. We moved in January 2016 around a major snow storm, we had to change our move-in date. The manager was very understanding , since everything in the city, shut down! When we moved in the apartment, it was immaculate, fresh and clean. When I have to call for maintenance, which isn't very often, they come quickly and are extremely efficient! You'll love the area and your stay here! I can't wait to have my birthday barbecue at the pool this summer, with the outdoor gas grill ! Great decision to rent here !
I have lived here for four years. I have two kids that has graduated from the local high school in the area which is Olympic and that was a great experience as well. I moved here as a single women with two kids and I have always felt safe. My apartment is nice is when there is a problem the mantaince guys always take care of it in a timely manner. The manager in the office is great if she can help out with issues you are having she will. So if you are looking for a place to call home The Park At Steele Creek fits the bill.
You will be miserable from the second you sign the lease. The customer service doesn't exist and the management team does not follow through. Save all the hassle and find somewhere else to live. this will be nothing but a headache.
Had no issues while I was there. The best location for several locations within the area, particularity with Carowinds less than two miles down the road. I was able to see the fireworks display on the hour at 10 pm during its season. The new outlet mall is roughly a good 10-15 minute drive from there, while the River Gate shopping center is about a 5 minute drive further down South Tryon St. Lake Wylie is also about 15 minutes in that direction as well. You'll love it there!
I moved in on the 18th of this month and i love the area. I've lived in Charlotte for a long time and before moving out my moms house (finally) i was looking around for a good 4 months. Seeing my apartment for the first time was amazing . the carpet was clean the walls clean, kitchen has granite counter-tops,spacious rooms and big bathroom. Apartments.com was the first app i looked for my own place and found my dream apartment.i have a little one and i can happily say that now i feel at home.
