Property Ratings at The Park at Verona New
All the reviews with issues are true, this is from experience. Front office is not professional and not there/reliable. Pest infestation problem upon arrival. Leaking roof also. They don’t answer phones, office is usually lock, trash over flow at dumpster, entrance gate always opened, and there’s fees for everything but it’s not worth it. Buildings need renovated.
Before reading, please understand I lived at this complex for over five years and I am generally very patient and understanding. The maintenance team and location are really one of the only reasons the Park at Verona deserves two stars. You will be close to most things lakeland has to offer, but you’ll be trading quite a bit for this. The office staff changed more times than I can count during my stay, and most employees were not helpful during their time. My move in team never followed up on needed paperwork to sign off on the condition of the apartment and would not answer any email or call to follow up. During my years there, trash was a constant battle as dumpsters and compactors are somehow broken at least twice a week leaving trash literally piling up into the driving areas and bringing in opossums, raccoons and other pests. This was never resolved in the five years I lived there. The staff, when called, would not answer. I tried calling at different times of the day for various issues and my calls would go unanswered for the entirety of the day- messages were not returned. This was frustrating many times as less than two minutes of communications could have solved my questions. When I desperately needed someone to speak to, even a in person visit to the office revealed no help. Often, anyone with the ability to answer in question was out. A simple question like, “Can I have a move out form?” Took 2-3 business days. It makes no sense, because there truly are not that many people moving in/out/wanting tours. A major reason I moved in was to have access to the lake, and a place to store a small boat. Without warning, the complex suddenly decided to charge a monthly fee for a boat parking spot, and the ramp was locked. Again, when I tried to call, a staff member would say “I’m part time- I can’t tel you anything.” And I was never given any direction on this. After moving out, I tried contacting the complex multiple times to ensure I was paid up on any cleaning fees etc. I was never contacted back about this and then told I owed money within a short period of time with the threat of a collection. TL;DR- Don’t waste your money. The office staff is always “out” or unavailable and you will be written off if you have a question about anything other than maintenance. The property is only kept clean in the front to draw in new tenants and the apartments are nothing special. I would not recommend the complex to anyone at this time.
They don’t care, nothing gets fixed... you put a work order in, it takes months to get addressed, they delete the tickets out of their system and I have to re-enter the ticket. Maintenance is a joke and doesn’t actually fix the problem when they do show. Then the office puts it off instead of figuring out a solution. Just so over this Mold infested apartment. I’m over the police activity. I’m over the entire situation. I can buy a home, and it would still be more adorable and much more worth it than living in this dump. The staff is extremely rude and not customer friendly. They need to put money into this place and change a lot. You can’t put glitter on poop and expect it to be better....
Awesome staff Awesome neighbors Awesome location...thus sayeth Awesome Alice, AMEN!
Asked to come help fix our broken shower for a month straight no one ever showed up. A lot of activity going on there. Helps no college students whatsoever. Communication is absolutely terrible. I do not recommend this place to a college student nor a family. There are much better in Lakeland with people who will meet your needs.
Me and my boyfriend moved in about a month ago and have hated being here. We've had horrible bugs since we've gotten here, a smell of dog pee in the carpets which they said they'd clean but never did, the gates been broken since we've got here (probably longer), and the office hasn't helped us in any of our troubles. This place is cheaper than most which is why we got it but it's not worth living here.
I've been living here for 6 months and every single month since the night I've moved in my AC has been having freezing issues. My neighbors above has also had Ac problems because their Ac leaking has made a hole in my ceiling. Maintenance is a joke and they "repair" my Ac but in a few weeks it's freezing up again. If you have any other issues don't hold your breath on getting them repaired. Maybe in a few months they'll come by or Maintenance will hope you just forget about them.
This building is very affordable compared to others in the area. Staff is very helpful and responsive to most requests. There have been a few issues with pest control, but the overall experience is a great one. It is definitely a great starter apartment or one ideal for a college commuter.
The staff here really go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They do breakfast on the go, movie night on the tennis courts, popsicles by the pool, school supply pow wows, and monthly news letters with birthday/holiday wishes, new recipes to try and crosswords! The maintenance team is outstanding. They genuinely care about helping in any way they can in a timely fashion and are dedicated to the community. Everyone is nice and will wave and ask you how you are doing. We are a family. Apartments are very nice, spacious and affordable. We have a coffee bar, computer lab, 2 pools, 3 laundry mats a lake and a creek that runs right behind my apartment. It's right in the middle of everything, to go to work its 15 minutes, groceries 5 minutes, fun 5 minutes or I can stay at home and have fun fishing in my backyard!! It allows pets and is also right next to the vet, my OTHER family doctor! :) I've been here 4 years and don't plan on leaving. It's PARADISE :)
