In recent years, Asheville has developed a reputation as one of the hippest and most exciting cities in the South, and living downtown puts you at the center of it all. The city’s famous Art Deco architecture creates a picturesque setting with the surrounding mountains providing a beautiful scenic backdrop.
On the west side, the historic Grove Arcade is surrounded by popular hangouts: whether you’re looking to eat, drink, or just go shopping, chances are you’ll find yourself walking this way pretty often. Beer lovers will be in heaven with a huge selection of breweries like Wicked Weed and Green Man as well as countless watering holes all around the neighborhood. Downtown is also a major hub for the arts, with tons of great galleries along Broadway and Biltmore, plus live music at venues like The Altamont and independent film screenings at Fine Arts Theatre. Living in Downtown Asheville puts the best of the city just a few steps outside your front door.

Property Ratings at The Patton
This is a true community! I have met some of the best neighbors through the social events hosted monthly. It's an easy walk to the heart of downtown and the staff really goes above and beyond with taking care of the property and individual needs. They handle my packages and check on my home when I am out of town and always make me feel welcome when I come to the office. Like most apartment communities, things happen and when they do they are quick to act and do what they can to mitigate the issues. I love it here!
I have never met more friendlier staff and neighbors. After a few weeks of moving in a met several neighbors at an event and since we have become good friends. Its nice to live where there is a sense of community with other like minded individuals.
The building management continues to be unresponsive and will tell you that they will get information to you and never do it. The entire building is filthy. Trash in parking deck that has remained for 4 months. Clothes at the entrance door to the building that are just left there. The hallways the paint looks awful and the carpets not ever vacuumed. Property manager has not addressed any issues and fails to meet deadlines. Very sad for such a wonderful building and location. For the premium you pay I would look at other places!

Coolest place to live in Asheville. Talie and Andrew are attentive and welcoming. Chef
I have been living here at THE PATTON for almost a year, signed a 2 year lease, the price is about right for the amenities you receive. For example, the building is cooled, always smells nice, is always, clean, requires high security access to entrances including the underground parking area. 4 block walking distance to downtown, indoor bicycle shop, looks more like a hotel than anything else. Community area outside with barbecue, bocci ball, firepits, party room with free tea, coffee, 3 big screen TVs for football. I am very pleased with the friendly staff, the indoor mailroom, the basement USPS area. Large balconies which all face outside, and with a constant beach-like breeze its pleasant to go outside. No reason to drive if you live here, bus access to school, work, whatever you do! 4 floors, elevator, stairs, automatic trash removal, recycling. (RS)
Andrew & Natalie are great! Location is perfect, can walk anywhere downtown. Amenities are great. I was sold on the washer and dryer! Convienent place to live. Just renewed my lease! -BRE
Yes, indeed I think this is a wonderful ideal for the downtown area. Affordable housing is a big problem in this area and I think living downtown you can't beat it because it's in the center of the city and you are located near the major highways as well. Prospect Rental.
