Also known as the Warehouse District, North Loop is an artistic neighborhood just over one mile northwest of Downtown Minneapolis. With a laid-back vibe, North Loops offers a diverse community and an array of unique businesses. Former industrial buildings have transformed into hip lofts and farm-to-table restaurants such as Spoon and Stable on North 1st Street. Locals enjoy visiting Target Field for a Twins game or the Minneapolis Farmers Market for local product, snacks, and candy. Public transit, local breweries, interstate access, and more make North Loop the convenient and unique place that it is. North Loop sits along the Mississippi River separating the neighborhood from Boom Island Park, a riverside green space with a boat dock, walking paths, and a playground.

Property Ratings at The Paxon
The front office has consistently failed to address ongoing complaints about the inadequately sized parking spot for my vehicle. That i pay for. Additionally, there is a cement beam protruding out from the cement wall, and the vehicle parked to the left is a larger SUV, making it nearly impossible to maneuver into this spot effectively. As a result, i have incurred damage to my car from scraping against the beam, which has diminished its resale value. This spot would be more adequate for a compact car or appt equipment. Despite my repeated requests for a different parking space and numerous follow-ups, the front office continues to respond with generic, scripted replies from management instead of taking meaningful action. Only interested in getting your money.

I initially had a really good experience with this apartment. Halfway into my 3 month lease I had an unexpected leak. I totally understand it takes time to get them fixed, but what happened with my situation is ridiculous. I had my oven and dishwasher pulled out in the middle of my kitchen for 4 days without a timeline of it being put back. I had holes cut above my cabinets. I had maintenance entering all day throughout the day for a week without knocking before entering. On the 4th day, my appliances were put back, but I was left without a kitchen ceiling. A hole so large was cut that I did not have a ceiling in my kitchen. I was left with no electricity in my kitchen or living room. My shower had little to no water pressure, nor did it get hot. My apartment was left barely liveable and I was not offered another unit or hotel. When I mentioned I was left without electricity and just spent money on groceries I was now unable to cook, I was told "Your refrigerator and microwave should still work." When I mentioned not having water for a day and a half I was told "There is a community bathroom downstairs to brush your teeth and give your dog water." I asked about compensation for this disaster and was told I am expected to pay my rent on the first or with an 8% late fee by the 6th. This is absolutely ridiculous and the least helpful someone could be. 10/10 do NOT recommend living here.

False sales and promises. Promised one month free on my 3 month lease. 2 days before when they sent lease I asked where the deal was written and James in the leasing office apologized and sent me an addended lease with this deal. That same day she said they could not honor this deal; leading me to have to find a long term stay 2 days before moving to a new city from out of state. Poor business tactics and customer service. By the way, James never got back to me or apologized for her mistake. Neither did Chris the manager.

I had an excellent experience with my tour and leasing process at the Paxon! Nate greeted us right away and was able to show us multiple units that met our needs and rest of the amenities at this property! I would recommend this apartment to others as it is in a GREAT location and the staff is very accommodating. We were able to tour and secure our apartment the same day and were given an additional parking spot at VELO to help with our needs! Great experience and excited to becoming a resident soon!
The Paxon seems like it would be a really great place to live and I can't wait to move in. I would definitely recommend this apartment community and as a matter of face I already have.
The apartment itself was great. Some of the finishes are cheap (floors coming up, cabinets askew) but I loved the view and the size. However the common areas were not as great, the pool was often dirty, very few engagement opportunities, the parking area was unsecured (I had my car broken into twice). The 2 biggest reasons I left were 1. the rent was way too high for the value, and 2. there were too many rules(i.e # of guests allowed at the pool) instead of dealing with the specific tenants causing problems, blanket rules were made. Jake at the front desk is very helpful and friendly, the other desk staff are snotty and not helpful at all.

I'll share your comments with my colleagues to ensure we remain a high energy, responsive and proactive team for every resident. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know about your experience living here. Sincerely, Liz S., Business Manager.
It's in a fantastic location, but the rules were increasingly more strict (pool) and the amenities weren't anything special. Rent was increasingly more expensive each year and the parking costs were ridiculous.
It seems like a well kept up community that cares about the residents. As we were walking around on our tour, the leasing professional Jake new many of the residents by name which felt very homey. They apartments are at a very good geographic proximity to the river, downtown and northloop areas. the apartment is priced fairly at market value.
The train noise is a strong factor as to why I wouldn't recommend.
Issue was resolved quickly, however not very friendly
The noise levels at the Paxon are a nightmare. Yelling and whooping at the pool all day on the weekends. College-type parties at night. Outdoor speakers and TVs. Dogs barking at 7:00 am. People yelling down to people in the parking lot ... And all of it amplified by the building's terrible u-shape design. Nothing refined or oasis-like about it. This is the North Loop, not Dinkytown. The Paxon does not fit in with the neighborhood vibe.
This particular non-emergency issue was resolved in a reasonable amount of time, and done correctly the first time. The crew left a notice that they were in my unit, and did not leave a mess after completing the job. I did not see that anything was missing or tampered with in the apartment.
Funny how my negative posting regarding the Paxon was removed! This is NOT an urban oasis. On a weekend it turns into a frat house with loud people drinking and partying. I feel really sorry for those of us who live in an apartment that overlooks the patio/pool area. It's like an amphitheater. I think it's practically a requirement to be rude to live here. If you want to join in on every party, good for you. If you want ANY peace and quiet on a weekend, you can forget it. No parking for guests because all the residents take the guest parking spots--including the ones labeled "prospective resident" and "handicapped"! How's that for rude!
I am currently a single 50 year old female. I have gone through a life change from living in a large home on the lake, to moving downtown. The Paxon has been a perfect fit for me. I have made many new friends of all ages, and the location is perfect for me. I have everything I need within walking distance. The staff is helpful, and I like how everything is new and stylish.
The Paxon has a great location in the North Loop, along with amazing views from many of the units. Great amenities, as well.
This place is awesome! Great location, community, and building. The office gets whatever you need. The pool and exercise room are never packed and always clean.
I spent 6 months looking at nearly every building (both to rent and to buy) in The North Loop, and it was a no-brainer to move into The Paxon. The location combined with the amenities are unmatched for the price point. Favorite Amenities: -Dog friendliness! Dog run, full dog bath in the building, treats at the front desk and the staff ADORES dogs. -The Pool and Spa -2 levels of outdoor spaces with 2 large grills and broken up cleverly for several areas of private gathering -Sauna -Gym -Yoga studio with FREE yoga with Nora Byrne, who helped launch Core Power and is among the best instructors in the country -Concierge (deliver packages to your unit, run errands, handyman tasks) -Club room and theater - super impressive place to have a gathering. It spills out into the pool area. An entire full prep kitchen, fireplace, giant TV in the theater room for games or movies Favorite Things About the Units: -High end finishes: granite kitchen, backsplash -Killer terraces and decks -Wood floors -The Views! Every unit has a great view of either downtown, west for sunsets or east for the river When I first lived on 1st Street North first back in 2001, I lived just a block further north of where The Paxon is today. I loved the neighborhood and knew I would be back. Fast forward to 2015 and The Paxon lies at the intersection of 1st Street N and 4th Ave. The Mississippi is a block away to the east, where you connect to the Grand Rounds and Greenway biking and pedestrian trails. Also a block away, right on the river is The North Loop Playground, which is an outstanding playground for all ages of children. There is a small market across the street from The Paxon called Runds, where you can get any of your basics when you can't get to a larger grocery store. It's open late into the evening, which is super handy. A block south you have D'Lish which carries all local produce, meats and cheeses along with an excellent selection of cooking goods. They also do cooking classes and catering and deliver to The Paxon. Whole Foods is an easy 4 block walk to the corner of Hennepin and Washington. Within 2 blocks you have 2 of the finest restaurants in the country in The Bachelor Farmer and Spoon & Stable. Other great places to eat within 2-4 blocks are Monte Carlo, Toast Wine Bar, Origami Sushi. Not to mention everything on Washington.
If you want a peaceful place close to downtown, this is your place. The only thing that you might find noisy is the train and it depends on your specific apartment. Amenities are awesome! The apartment is very well organized space wise, And the people that live here are well as the ones who work here are very nice. Me and my husband were looking at apartments, once we saw this one, we stopped looking and just signed
This is the perfect building for anyone who wants to be close to downtown yet doesn't want to hear the constant hustle and bustle of the city. The building itself is wonderful with great amenities and helpful staff. The apartments are spacious with all the best details. There are many coffee shops and restaurants nearby as well as easy access to bike trails and the river walk. I can't imagine a better environment for young professionals who want a neighborhood feel with easy access to the city life.
