Two freeways, a rail line, and the largest park in the city separate Bryn Mawr from the rest of Minneapolis. But life on an urban island is sweet: This highly green and friendly neighborhood has become one of the city's most desirable places to put down roots. Beautiful turn-of-the-century homes, abundant green space, buffered proximity to downtown and a quirky, arts-loving population help give the neighborhood a Mayberry-like appeal.
Bryn Mawr has a small-but-unique business district and a very active neighborhood association. Close relationships form block by block, and when people move, it's only to move to a different house in Bryn Mawr - or so the saying goes. This neighborhood has become a hotbed for renters, attracted by the outstanding natural amenities, low crime rates, and a strong sense of community.

Property Ratings at The Penhurst
I’ve been at the Penhurst for almost a year and have really enjoyed living at the Penhurst! The management team has been amazing and really appreciate all that they do. The location is great and love living right next to Theo Wirth Park. The amenities are great as well, the gym is very spacious and love the indoor pickle ball court. I will be renewing my lease. Overall, would highly recommend the Penhurst apartments!
The penhurst has exceeded my expectations and been a great place to live so far. The staff is very welcoming and happy to help with any issues you may have. The amenities have also been a welcomed addition to the living experience.
Affordable Spacious apartment rooms with fun areas to check out throughout whole complex. Love the outdoor rooftop, gym and individual work offices. Highly recommend and in a great area of Bryn Mawr Mpls.
I love having nature and walking trails in my backyard! It’s a convenient location for commuting to downtown, which saves me a lot of time in traffic. The building is clean and well maintained.
Great location that is very close to downtown. Parking only available outside and is limited with no guest parking. Plus there is a monthly parking fee. Amenities are good. The apartments can be loud with a continuous air fan and cement floors. Can also get loud from neighbors. Overall a good place.
I’ve lived in this amazing apartment complex for a while now, and I can’t say enough good things about it. The management team is incredible - they always keep the place spotless and super clean. They’re also the best apartment rental management team I’ve ever worked with. They’re so kind and always ready to help with any issues that come up. And the concierge, Jordan, is amazing! She’s always there to lend a hand and make sure you have everything you need. I highly recommend Penhurst to anyone looking for a great place to live. Thanks for making renting with you guys such a breeze!
The Penhurst is a very nice apartment that has every type of amenity you could ask for, from an indoor pickleball court, to a sauna, to a sizable gym! The maintenance is very fast and the communication is amazing! The Penhurst is located in the perfect place where you don’t get the busyness of the city, but you’re close enough to bike downtown if you’d like! There are a lot more walking trails and parks/lakes around the Penhurst than you’ll find in any downtown apartment. Would recommend it to anyone!
Great place to live! It all starts with the management being on top of issues when they arise, as well as great communication on at least a weekly basis relating to different happenings and events within the complex. If I ever have a question or need something, they are always there to help. The price is insanely low for what you get (did get a rent discount, but still would pay full listed price to live here). Tons of room in my unit, and great amenities in the common areas. Easy access to parks, bike trails, ski trails, etc, and located in a quiet neighborhood that still allows you to get to downtown Minneapolis and St. Louis park in about 6 mins. Love living here.
Best location ever! Close to downtown, Lakes area or The West End and parks and trails galore! Walking distance to charming downtown Brynn Mawr with it's coffee shops, dining, and shopping all within a very welcoming community. Inside you will find beautiful large windows, upscale finishes and appliances, generously sized units and great amenities along with super friendly and helpful onsite staff. A perfect place for pets and families!
Luxury apartments at a fair price. Twice the square footage than the north loop and only a few minutes away
I absolutely love living at The Penhurst! The location is perfect—close to downtown but surrounded by nature, offering the best of both worlds. The staff really makes it feel like home. John, the maintenance guy, is always friendly and helpful. Both Jordans are awesome, always giving great community updates and making everyone feel welcome. Cory made my move-in process so smooth. The only downside is that there could be more parking, but they’re doing the best with what they have. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to live with a great team!
We moved into the Penhurst in May of last year and ran into some predicaments with our first unit that were unavoidable. The Penhurst and the management team did a great job at addressing these and fixing it to our satisfaction. We recommend the building highly and love all the amenities.
I have really enjoyed living at the Penhurst. Being able to score a rental near the lakes and Theodore Wirth as someone who enjoys birding and spending time outside is incredible! The building (unlike most new builds) is well-constructed, the loft-style units are a rare find in Bryn Mawr, and the amenities are great. Only taking a star off because the utility prices are a bit steep with the mandatory wifi and common spaces included, and there isn't exceptional transparency with how units are metered and billed. Other than that, I have very few complaints! The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot. It's a real gem.
Very friendly management that is quick and effective when responding to tenant requests. The townhomes are a great option.
I love being outside, and living at the Penhurst gives you just that. Super easy access to Eloise butler bird sanctuary and Theodore Wirth! Close to the chain of lakes for water access too. Thrilled to be in this place and the staff are so thoughtful.
Amazing apartments!!! Industrial look. Huge apartments with massive windows. Friendly staff, who will always say hi to a dog.
I've lived in the Penhurst for 8 months and my experience has been superb! My apartment unit is cozy and quiet. The dark shades allow for total black that improves my sleep and the glass windows are insulated so that even though I face the highway I do not hear the traffic from 394. The unit space is excellent for 1 person. The community itself is quite welcoming. It's fun getting to know my neighbors and their pets. The free coffee machine is a plus and even has hot cocoa for the cold days. We've had community events and happy hours which have made this place feel like home. The sauna, gym and pickleball court have made this a great hangout spot for myself and friends. The location is excellent in that I have full access to the parks, trails, and chain of lakes which are excellent for hiking, biking or trail running. Since it's so close to downtown it's a 10 minute bike ride to twins games or a short uber to the night life of the North Loop. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and has a pizza place, coffee shop (Cuppa Java) and Utepils is one of my favorite breweries. The staff are incredibly friendly and the maintenance staff is amazing. Even if they can't fix it they let you know they tried and when they'll get back to you. I appreciate being greeted by the staff when I come home from work. All in all this has been a great apartment experience.
We love it here, it’s a beautiful building, extremely kind staff, and great location. The surrounding neighborhoods are perfect for dog-walking, and grabbing a coffee down the street. Minus a few parking issues that have since been resolved (we moved in when there was still some construction) we have loved our home here. Would highly recommend.
Great place! Highly recommend moving here. The staff is always helpful! Fantastic location right by a park with great trails, and just a short drive to downtown Minneapolis!
The office and maintenance staff provide top notch support and service. They are always accesible and eager to help with requests. The location is quiet and convenient. The shared space on the top floor is great for social gatherings
If you're into a place where the smell of weed lingers, parties happen every weekend, and gunshots are part of the soundtrack, no need to hit the clubs—you'll find it all right here at The Penhurst. Don't count on management to step in, though. Emails? They rarely respond. Rules? Hardly ever enforced. But, rest assured, you'll get a weekly reminder about Saturday Yoga. Save yourself. Don't live here. It's not a safe place.
Gio brought me to The Penhurst, and I'm in love! The design is so chic, and the rooftop grills make it a perfect spot for a casual hangout. Plus, the proximity to Wirth Park and the lakes is unbeatable for an active lifestyle. Count me in
Gio and I explored The Penhurst, and it's more than an apartment—it's a community. The outdoor green space feels like a serene escape, a perfect balance to the vibrant city life just a short drive away. Living here offers the best of both worlds.
The Penhurst was the only luxury apartment we ever seriously considered moving to in a recent search. Aside from the brand new, first class accommodations and amenities (seriously, it’s own gym, pickleball court, sauna and indoor/outdoor rooftop patio!), what drew us was the key location. Very close to downtown - soon accessible by local lightrail stop - it’s true draw for outdoor enthusiasts is the prime location on the doorstep to Theodore Wirth park, with its cross country and mountain biking trails as well as cedar and wirth lake just footsteps away! Awesome place, great location
Friendly staff, beautiful complex, and many convenient amenities. Love the open and modern design. One of the best complex’s I’ve lived in.
Moving was easy with the loading docks and carts. Cory and Jordan answered any questions that I had quickly. Fifth floor amenities are great. It truly has the feel of a luxury hotel only you’re living there full-time. John from maintenance introduced himself the first day we were here and told me to let him know if I need anything as far as buildings and maintenance. Very happy with life here.
Building has a lot of great amenities (pickleball, sauna, awesome gym and rooftop, work from home cubes). Industrial feel with the exposed concrete ceilings and awesome lighting. Jordan in the lobby is available to help almost all the time. Responsive staff and maintenance team, close to the city and thick walls you can’t hear anyone really. Great air quality too.
Living at the Penhurst has truly been a one of a kind experience. What stood out to me from the initial tour is the thoughtful attention to detail throughout the building: the concrete flooring, the interesting light fixtures in each unit, the well-crafted floor plans that maximize space so cleverly, the floor to ceiling windows, the substantial balconies, the expansive hallways. These high quality, well designed elements throughout the entire building speak to its uniqueness. Every time I have a guest visit, they are in awe and feel like they are in a hotel or art gallery! I absolutely love using the sauna after using the gym with the view of the Minneapolis skyline. The staff is truly what makes the Penhurst feel like a home- Cory, John, Matt & Jordan are superstars that make life here simply a delight!
Conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Minneapolis and closer yet to West End shopping plaza make this a number one contender for apartment location. A plus for building modernization and amenities, the Penhurst blows other apartments out of the water. This place is a perfect home for those seeking an apartment.
I recently had the pleasure of moving into Penhurst, and it exceeded all my expectations. The modern amenities, well-maintained grounds, and attentive staff create a comfortable and enjoyable living environment. The spacious layouts and thoughtful design make it a perfect place to call home. From the convenient location to the excellent community atmosphere, this apartment complex truly stands out as an exceptional place to live. Highly recommend!
I recently moved into Penhurst Apartments and Townhomes, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The standout feature of this community is undoubtedly the exceptional staff, particularly Jordan, Cory, and Matt. Their dedication to ensuring residents feel welcome and supported has made my transition seamless and enjoyable. Moreover, the amenities here are nothing short of fantastic. The attention to resident comfort and the sense of community fostered by the gym and pickleball court truly set Penhurst apart. I’m thrilled to call this place home and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a welcoming community with exceptional service.
I want to say the building has a lot of great amenities. High ceilings are nice. The staff are wonderful too, Jordan is always around and happy to chat or help if you need anything. It kind of feels like a hotel.
Not only is it a beautiful place to live but the staff here is amazing we have gotten to know a lot of them and they go above and beyond for us the amenities are amazing and location wise we love it it is five minutes to downtown and five minutes to west end
