Every city has an “it” neighborhood – fun, funky, close to everything – and for DC, that neighborhood is Logan Circle. Named for a historic traffic circle ringed with Victorian homes, Logan Circle is beautiful, trendy, pedestrian-friendly, and filled with terrific boutiques, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and bars. Think second-hand stores and avant garde films, dive bars and elegant French restaurants. Being DC’s “it” neighborhood, Logan Circle apartments are in very high demand.
You’ll find a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, and theaters along 14th Street. If you are out shopping and want to stop for lunch, Le Diplomate is rumored to have the best burgers around. In the evening, Sotto is the place to be. For tapas, head to Estadio. Catch a play at Studio Theatre, or take a walking tour of the area’s numerous art galleries. If you want to furnish your new DC apartment, find just the right vintage or shabby chic item at Miss Pixie’s Furniture & Whatnot.

The Phoenix has a cockroach problem that is completely unacceptable. I know that this is DC and things are bound to happen, but when cockroaches are in my unit before I even move in, that is a problem. When I reported the cockroach issue to management, they scheduled an exterminator to spray my unit three days later. In that time, I had so many pest issues that I had to go stay somewhere else because my bathroom was unusable. There are cockroaches living in the plumbing system and in the walls, and they were coming into my unit both ways within the first week I lived there. Daro, the management company, is absolutely terrible, and the building management is not much better. This is by far the worst apartment I have ever lived in in DC, and unless you have literally no other choice, you should avoid The Phoenix at all costs.
Pro: I only have six more months to go. The office staff is nice, and this location is close to most things in DC. The rooftop is nice. Cons: There are lots of roaches in the basement(dead and alive) even though it seems like they are picking them up more lately. The hallway carpets are gross. There are constantly weird smells in this place. No parking. No laundry in my unit. The wood floor comes off in chunks and sticks to my feet. The walls to the alley are super thin and I can hear the construction workers talking like they are in my room. The trash only runs a few times a week so there is a trash mountain in the basement every now and then. Uber and Lyft have trouble find Highland terrace. Only move here if you are broke or hate yourself. (Like honestly. Please pull out the carpet and change the creepy yellow lights in the hallway.)
The apartment I live in now its close downtown but I would like to move into better apartment. I live in a one bedroom but doesnt have no parking garage or no weights room for me to work out. I would like to have more space in my apartment where can be watching a nice view.
