Property Ratings at The Place at Barker Cypress - 1822
NEVER rent here. I would give 0 star if I can. I got robbed twice and when I noticed the office, they do nothing. I couldn’t live here anymore. I tell them I want to move out. But instead of helping me out, they said they aren’t responsible for anything happens to their tenants, it’s not their fault. They will not provide any more security alarm for us and I have to move out paying 2 months rent + 85% one month rent penalty. Worst customer service ever. The apartment doesn’t secure, the gates are broken every single week. Also you will never find a parking near your unit.
A little over a month so far, and I am almost regretting moving here! They "bait and switched" me into believing this is a great place to live, but once I moved in, their attitude change significantly. There is never any parking as well. The location is good but 'some' office staff and 'some' maintenance staff are Unprofessional(they know who they are)! I don't know if it will get any better, but this is my honest experience so far!!

I’ve been at this place for 11 months just about, my lease is up in June. This is the worst place anyone could ever even fathom to live in. My car has been broken into, towed twice for wrongful reason and the management could care less. Also, there are roaches.

I moved into this complex about 3 months before the big hurricane hit. Every single unit on the first floor was evacuated from waters that had reached six feet high on those first floor apartments. My apartment was on the second floor, but I was displaced, and got back to my apartment 2 weeks after the initial storm. At that point they had given me 10 days (which started at the the first of Sept), I didn’t get back to the apartment until Sept 5, to move out or pay the rent. Which I had no money or ability to move at that point. The apartment offered $100 off rent, even though I was literally incapable of getting to the apartments for two weeks. However, I moved forward, but I started noticing mold on my door a few months later, I complained at that time, and they painted over my door only for the mold to grow back through. I noticed mold in my vents and light fixtures a couple of months after that, only for them to replace the covers of the vents and light fixtures. I still see mold in my vents to this day, and I am now moving out because of that mold which I’m sure has riddled most of, if not all the buildings on this property. They continue to sweep the mold under the rug as new tenants file in, but be careful and keep an eye on this. Mold grows up, and I’m sure it has grown into all of the apartment’s walls at this time. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Management will continue to sweep things under the rug and demand money or evict as quickly as possible. Just pay a little extra and move to an apartment close to here.

APTS DESTROYED BY WATER... I UNDERSTAND NOT THEIR FAULT BUT TO TELL US THEY WOULD HELP US FIND ANOTHER MILESTONE PROPERTY TO RELOCATE TOO.. YA THEY WILL BUT THEIR OTHER PROPERTIES RAISED THEIR RENTS UP SIGNIFICANTLY AFTER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE HURRICANE. CHEAPEST AVAILABLE IS $1100 PER MONTH FOR ONE BEDROOM.... I was paying 705.. and to get it for $1100 you have to sign a new years lease.... I had paid my rent in advance and was told it could take up to 30 days to get back my rent and deposit even though they terminated the lease on us.... So they have $950 of my money and aren't refunding immediately. Its already been 10 days.. the ladies their just don't care.... They have homes to go back to... Told me that I could call my bank and stop payment but they wouldn't cover the stop payment charge either. SMHH...

Thank you for sharing your refund concern with us. If this remains unresolved, please give our office a call. We hope you are enjoying your new home and we wish you well.
We've been here for 6 months and literally worst place to live. There was a roach trap with over 100 dead roaches which was probably place there before we moved in. Our fridge doesn't work and they refuse to change it. I moved the fridge and found more dead roaches. The carpet was stained and not placed correctly because it can simply be pulled up and removed. The paint was wet when we moved. The apartment constantly smells because of the fridge and we can't have people over because there are always roaches in the kitchen. Worst experience ever. First time we move out of our parents home and this is what we get.
apt staff is a joke . the apt are run down mold and roach infested.. mold in showers.. leaks.. animals getting into your attic..
I signed a 1 year lease and left after 4 months. The office personnel is the only reason I stayed after the first month. The maintenance is the reason that I left. The A/C was not working when I first moved in. Repairs were made to the inside unit. One month later, the outside fan needed to be replaced. The upstairs heat was unbearable. Insufficient vents to cool upstairs, and this was during the last part of the summer. The shower and facets were constantly leaking. The home was fumigated after my first complaint of roaches, but a week later the roaches were back. The toilet was repaired after constantly complaining, and when it was fixed, the water was not turned back on. The parking is horrendous. Paying for a covered parking was the only saving grace. Guest has to park at the end of complex, not close to apartment. Although the neighbors were quiet, the constant cars with the loud radios are a constant bother. I broke my least (having to pay a substantial amount), even calling the corporate office, which only fell on deaf ears. Only positive was the office personnel (NOT the office manager).
I've been renting at this address for the past three years. I feel this is my home. Without a second thought the administrators for the complex have been able to assist me whenever I make a simple request. Due my very income it makes it impossible for me to ever own my home. But I simply love this place- it is my home! My neighbors are friendly and look out for each other, although there's hardly anything to be concerned about. I feel absolutely safe! Most of all is the caring the entire area receives. Why should anyone complain about anything that's border-lining on perfection!
I've lived in the enclave since March and the apartments themselves are not bad, I haven't had any pest issues (suprisingly), maintenance issues have been slim and fixed in a timely manner. The location is convenient to everything. The biggest complain I have is parking. Visitor parking is low, most located by buildings 28 and 29. I am located in building 1, parking is not great there. I work until 11 pm and by the time I get home I have to park by building 29 and walk across the entire complex. Safety is a concern but I personally haven't had much happen. There have been a few instances where I come home and cop cars are outside but no news is given to residents. There is covered reserved parking available for an extra monthly fee, however I have been on the waiting list since I moved in and still haven't gotten any notification of where I am on the list. If parking isn't an issue for you, by all means rent at the enclave.
