As its name implies, the Museum District is home to 19 museums. This historic neighborhood is home to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Children's Museum of Houston, the Contemporary Art Museum, and other cultural centers. Each year over 8 million visitors explore this cultural hub! Residents also have access to one of Houston’s favorite parks, Hermann Park, massive green space housing the Houston Zoo, an Amphitheatre, gardens, and more. Great for students, faculty, and staff, the district is also convenient to several universities including Texas Southern University and Rice University. After you’re done exploring museums, the Museum District also has several coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, and nightlife spots. For even more shopping, dining, and entertainment options, Midtown and Downtown Houston aren’t far from the neighborhood. This bustling cultural mecca has surprisingly affordable apartments along with more upscale rentals available as well.

Property Ratings at The Plaza Museum District
Great location. Onsite maintenance and leasing staff is great. But the out of town investment company that owns this property and many others controls rent and fees— be sure to read the fine print and get everything important to you in writing. I was surprised and annoyed by several add on fees.
Property Manager at The Plaza Museum District, Responded To This Review
Glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed the location and found our team helpful. We strive for clarity when it comes to fees, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly. Please get in touch with us at plaza@berkshireresi.com, and we’ll address your feedback to improve your overall experience.
This is my favorite place I have ever lived! The apartment staff are kind, responsive, and competent. They respond quickly to emails, are always available during working hours, give advanced notice of staff holidays and community events, and seem to really care about me as a resident. The maintenance team always resolves my request within 24 hours. The apartment layout and amenities are also exactly what I needed, and the location can't be beat. It is right across the street from Hermann Park, including the zoo, gardens, an outdoor theatre, and trails. It is also close to many museums - most of which have free days each week - and great restaurants. Finally, it is close to several buses and a train, which are often more convenient than driving. I feel very safe in this area. It seems like there are people in all stages of life living here, which I appreciate. I lived here for two years and hope to find myself back here again someday.

We agree, the proximity to Hermann Park and other attractions is a fantastic feature of our community. Thank you for choosing to live with us, and we hope to welcome you back someday in the future!
I feel comfortable walking around the area with my dog and the community is cleaned and updated frequently. The maintenance team is fast and efficient and the office staff is very communicative. I enjoy my peaceful strolls and quiet apartment here.
Property Manager at The Plaza Museum District, Responded To This Review
We're thrilled to hear that you feel comfortable and happy in our community! Providing a clean and welcoming environment for our residents, including their furry friends, is a top priority. We're glad to hear that you've had positive experiences with our maintenance and office team. We are grateful for your kind words.
This is my first apartment in Houston. Everyone here is helpful and warm-hearted. They will respond to your request very quickly. When the appliances in the room have problems, I just need to submit the maintenance request on the apartment portal, and they will come and fix the problems in only half hour. I'm really free from worry. Also, the location is really great. Hermann park, Fine Art museum, Natural science museum, etc.. I can always find a good place to go by only several minutes walk. In all I'm very satisfied with this apartment.
Positives Anthony is very knowledgeable about the property. The tour he gave us was very thorough and was able to answer all questions we had. He himself is personable and easy to approach no matter the question or concern. He definitely did a great job leaving a positive first impression of what the property has to offer. The unit he showed us was nice and clean. I love all the built in shelving and layouts for the 2bed 2baths. As we were walking around the complex people seemed friendly and warm. After looking at other properties we came back to The Plaza and applied to live here. Negatives The property does seem a little bit dated but well kept overall. All in all we are excited about this property. I'm sure we will have some complaints later (we all do after living somewhere for a bit) but overall we are pretty confident and happy about our new home.
There have been car break-ins on a weekly basis recently (January/February 2017) and a few apartment break-ins. Other than that, this apartment has been mostly good. I am sure there are safer alternatives out there and I wish I had known this before moving in.
