Property Ratings at The Podium Apartments
The manager Ashley and the staff at the Podium were always very attentive and friendly. There were never any issues with maintenance, proper notice, etc. Everything was spelled out very clearly and communicated well in advance. I would definitely recommend the Podium as a great place to live in Cupertino. Great central location and nice apartments.
I lived in The Podium for more than three years - both 1BR and 2B, and I miss living there. The apartment has everything you need: great management, friendly and efficient maintenance staff, quick walk to get groceries, on-site gym, maintenance service, pool, and appliances! The only issues I had were with some malfunctioning washer/dryer in the common rooms(which happened occasionally) and noise from the fire department across the street. This noise issue, however, depends on the location of your apartment. If you're sensitive to noise, I recommend a unit facing inside or away from Stevens Creek BLVD. The overall experience was fantastic - They deserve five stars.
Pros: The only real advantage of the place is the location and the inside of the apartments have nice appliances and countertops/floors. I will say maintenance guys are nice and hard working but I don't like places where I get to know them because that means issues are frequent. Cons: Not very kid friendly. Pool is small and way too deep. No small play area for kids, like some places have. Management and neighbors are always complaining about kids making noise and running in hallways. I don't really hear kids doing that and they might run down when leaving home but they're KIDS - I've never seen them actually playing in the hall ways. Plumbing is horrible in the kitchen and the bathroom, always issues with that. Summers are brutal, no AC so you have to get your own unit. Also, if your window doesn't open above your balcony, you need to buy the bulky inefficient portable AC that only cools a small room - it won't cool the living room area. Insulation is bad, even on a cool day, the unit gets hot for some weird reason. I'd look around before settling here - especially if you have kids.
I lived here for a little over 2 years and I don't have any complaints. Management was always friendly, maintenance was prompt and the location is pretty awesome with Main Street Cupertino really close by as well as shopping and grocery stores. The unit I was in came with a washer and dryer inside but most of the apartments have common laundry rooms instead. We were lucky that this place opened up when it did! They have a gym and you can use it 24/7 and the pool stays heated until the winter months. Me and my husband enjoyed using it. We will miss this place and wish we could have lived here longer.
This apartment is old. During rainy season water will leak through the wall, windows. Suddenly water will pour through the windows inside you room. The fix will be getting a dryer to dry it. Sometimes you need to hang a bag to collect the water dripping from the window. Room heaters are old and if you turn it on, you PG&E bill will hit the roof. You need to use standalone room heaters. Property management will work exterior and appearance every year to attract customers and in turn rent will go up every year. Except location, this apartment has no advantage at all. There are other properties that are nearby, though slightly costly, worth for the additional cost. Avoid this place if you can.
Property Manager at The Podium Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. We just finished getting several roofs replaced at the Podium and already have the schedule set for next week to finish getting the last couple of roofs replaced to prevent any water leaks during the rainy season. We try our very best to resolve these issues promptly and efficiently when they arise. As far as your rent increase, there are many factors that will decide the new rate at time of renewal. We try to stay competitive with the market and we tell everyone that you can expect the rent to go up at time of renewal. This is pretty standard anywhere you rent. Please feel free to stop by the office to discuss further during normal business hours. Thank you
I don't recommend. The manager has decided to remodel all apartments to hardwood flooring. If you live underneath these units you will hear the kids' running footsteps, adults walking around, and washing machines. If you dont want this to ruin your life, consider other places. Ambulence and firetrucks constantly are coming into the driveway.
Recently moved here and I love it! Location is the best. It is very close to apple offices and their new campus. Also, there are many options to eat and shop nearby on Stevens Creek. Had a few minor issues at move in but nothing major, and the management was responsive and quick to fix them. Building is little outdated on the outside but is clean and well maintained. I believe they are remodeling their units with new flooring and stainless steel appliances. Overall, a nice place to live in Cupertino.
The podium is a great place to live. It has a swimming pool and a fitness center. It's big and mainly quiet. It has a lot of children and is at a great location. It is right next to the Cupertino Public Library and City park. The elementary, middle and high school are walking distance. The prices are ranging from 2,500 to about 3,700. Great location and great place to live.
We read a lot of reviews and visited Podium. The apartment itself is located in a very prime place, 1/2 mile from Apple campus. It is located on a street with multiple complexes. The Podium looks like a condo apartment complex but it is very residential. It is gated community. The parking garage is 2-3 story attached to the complex provides ample parking space. It felt very safe and the office staff is very friendly.
