Park Place lies two miles north of downtown Norfolk, just north of busy 23rd Street. Commuters can get to the downtown area and its surrounding cities in just a handful of minutes. Virginia Beach, where many a local spends a long, lazy weekend, sits 30 minutes to the east.
You don't have to leave the comfort of the neighborhood to find a little rest and relaxation. Stroll from your apartment to the Virginia Zoological Park, just east of Granby Street. The gardens feature a stunning array of flora from African vegetables to roses. The zoo serves as home to a range of exotic animals such as cheetahs, tigers, and elephants, thereby giving locals a little nature in the midst of the city.
When not taking in nature, check out Handsome Biscuit or Toast, two favorite local restaurants. Handsome Biscuit combines everyday favorites with a little pizzazz, such as pulled pork with a light caviar garnish.

Apartments are very nice. The staff is great. They offer a game room, workout room, study area, bar area, pool, etc. Apartments are in a great location as well with many food spots available within a 5 min drive or 15 min walk. Very close to campus for the college students. I would recommend this place to another person.

I honestly don’t feel safe here. My car was broken into Thursday night.. in the garage.. that I pay $50 for. Which all that means is that when they break your window and steal your stuff, it’s protected from the weather. We have security, I think???? I usually see them sit in their cars smoking or sit in the glass box on the first floor of the garage that leads to the inside. Sometimes on the phone arguing outside the stairwell. They might as well just say this is ODU only. It’s extremely loud all the time, luckily they have gotten a tad quieter. These apartments are in a really bad location. Crime happens all the time in the surrounding blocks and here. My car was towed even though I had my parking pass hanging. I emailed the owners of the apartment’s and they never got back to me. The leasing office manager told me the day it happened there’s nothing she can do, so I wasn’t going to push the subject there(even though the tow company or “security” or whoever determines that a car gets towed doesn’t even follow the protocols that the leasing contract states in the “COMMUNITY POLICIES, RULES AND REGULATIONS ADDENDUM” part IV, section 3)

Garage is broken into all the time. Apartment shakes all the time. Cannot sleep due to loud neighborhood. Can hear literally word by word through walls. Upstair stomping. Can hear washing machine running from next door.

After living at the point for a year now, I can say that it has been nothing but an excellent experience. Modern apartments with great amenities in a location that is perfect for me. The saltwater pool is amazing in the summer.Sam and Silver in the leasing office and Danny with the maintenance staff make me feel welcome.

Hello, Your excellent feedback and rating mean a lot to us. We are happy to hear that you are taking advantage of everything we have to offer at The Point on 38th Apartments. We hope you have a lovely day. The Point Management
Before moving in, be prepared to clean. We had to do a thorough clean of our apartment because every surface was covered in construction dust, there were piles of dirt on the floor, and there were pee splatters around the toilet. These were all things that we expected to have clean when moving into a new, and what is advertised as a "luxury," apartment. We had to move all of our things in that day due to our moving truck arriving or else we would have gone to management and requested it be cleaned before we moved in. When we did speak with Emily in the office about the cleanliness issue, she asked if we had a swiffer. Upon move-out, if the apartment would be left in such a condition, we would be charged if things aren't clean according to the lease. Some amenities have not been available since we moved in. The pool was not available when we first moved in, the club room took a month and a half before it was finished, and the rooftop patio and bike racks are still not available for use. This has been frustrating as we have been paying for these amenities since we moved in, almost two months now. There is also no pool table which is shown in pictures online. Laura in the office has been great for answering questions and a wonderful resource. They have been understanding about above issues, but we had higher expectations for a brand new, "luxury" apartment.

The staff is incredible, the building is gorgeous and brand new, and we feel very comfortable here. I definitely recommend this apartment complex, especially if you are an Old Dominion University student because it’s a 9 minute walk from campus and they care about their residents! 10/10 :)

Hello, We're so glad to hear that you're enjoying life at our community! Have a nice day. The Point on 38th Management
We moved into this place in early August and we've had a great experience! The apartment is brand new and beautiful, and the amenities are great. The balcony window provides great natural lighting for the whole apartment. We like the gym and the pool. Maintenance is really responsive. We love the management! They are available, helpful, and kind. The package concierge is a great surprise ammenity too. I gave the complex four stars instead of five because in the one bedroom apartment there is next to no closet space. There's enough hanging space in the bedroom closet for one person's clothes, but other than that, we have to be really creative with where to store our stuff. Also, there is a $25 fee a month for the trash removal service. It's convienent, but unnecesary. It would be nice to have the option to opt out and take out our own trash. The walls scuff super easily too. But otherwise, we've had a really good experience here.

The on-site property manager, Laura, has been prompt, knowledgeable, and very friendly to work with. The apartments were still under construction when we toured, but the finished unit that we saw was beautiful and well appointed.
