Property Ratings at The Pointe at City Center
Repairs on critical appliances like oven and shower took over a month and we were never compensated for going without working bathroom and kitchen
Do you like mold? Do you like a property manager that doesn’t care? Than this is the place for you! The grounds look terrible. Parking is horrible. They change people in the office every month it seems. Lastly, the property manager is so unprofessional. Please look elsewhere unless you really want to live in an outdated dump with horrible neighbors.
The property is in shambles and falling apart. There are mud slides everywhere, even to the point where people slip and fall. Also the property manager is impossible to get ahold of and when you do they are short and rude with you. Definitely don’t look into this place, they are horrible.
When we moved into our apartment in 2019, everything was great, they had great management and the office staff was amazing. Once the new management took over, everything went downhill. The new management has no idea how to run an apartment community, they have no empathy for their tenants, and it seems like they are trying to get people to move out. Stay away from this place unless you are really desperate to get into an apartment.
Yeah guys don’t do it property manager is horrible can’t keep staff old run down apartments there is better out there in the area oh yeah and they don’t respond to emails or care about you!!!!
I’ve been here 2 years everything was great until about 2 months ago they got new management and you will find out very quickly they do not care about you.
Lived her for 3 years. All of a sudden they change manage and they wont honor anything previous manager had in place. When you disagree they call the cops. Terrible management, Terrible maintenance.
The apartments are falling apart, yet they want to raise the rent if you release?? The management company should be ashamed of themselves. The apartments are in bad shape inside and out. It’s obvious that the least is done to add any improvement to the property unless you consider new carports as an improvement. New carports are great for the management company to get more money out of the tenants every month as a blind eye is turned on any real improvement to the property. The pools are consistently not open on time and are failing and falling apart. The hot tub has never worked since I’ve lived here yet the pools and hot tub are advertised on their website as working. This is just not how business should be done. Tenants want to be treated fairly and get what they are paying for. It’s sad that ownership and management would do business like this without any integrity whatsoever.
The Point at City Center is great place to move to. It is in in walking distance to grocery stores, the Lenexa City Market, the reccenter, and Shawnee lake park. The staff is friendly and helps you with any concerns or questions you have. If you put a maintenance order in they come and fix the problem the right away or the next day. Pet friendly too.
Horrible management, sprayed multiple times but always finding brown recluse spiders in our apartment. Over priced for what It is. Playground was outdated wood and rotting, courtyards had wires and cables sticking out of the ground. A lot of better places out there for the money.
If you’re looking for a nice updated place to live with knowledgeable staff, look elsewhere. Within the first month I moved in, I had to call maintenance for a leak in my ceiling. It was raining outside and my ceiling started leaking in two different spots. I called maintenance and all they did was cover it up with some Kilz and call it good. So of course it happened again the next time it rained and they did the same thing—covered it with Kilz. They also informed me that, “these things happen when it rains that hard and at an angle.” Yeah right, I’ve never had a ceiling leak in any other place that I’ve lived. Then, winter rolls around. On one very cold day, my pipes, along with many others in the complexes, froze and I did not have hot water for over 24 hours. They had me put a big heater machine that connected to the pipes (which are outside in a closet) to the pipes in the inside (under my sink). The heater itself sat right in the middle of my living room. I had to take a day off work to sit at home and make sure that no one broke into my apartment since I had to leave my outside door cracked for the heater to connect. I was also unable to sleep that night as I had to leave my door cracked open while the heater ran. I went to the office staff and told them about my frustrations and they informed me that I should get a space heater to put in my laundry room. I had a one bedroom apartment. The laundry room was literally a closet with a stackable washer and dryer. Anyone with a brain knows that you are not supposed to put a space heater in an enclosed room. It is a major fire hazard. Lastly, I finally had my moveout date set up. I was to move out on August 5th. On July 27, I called the office and asked them how much I needed to pay for the 5 days in August. The lady I spoke with didn’t know and said she’d have to ask and give me a call back. She called me back and said I didn’t have to pay anything. I knew at the time I should have had her send me that in an email for documentation purposes but I didn’t. Upon receiving my deposit refund, I noticed that they took out $171 for “August rent/late fees.” I called the office asking why I was charged for this and the lady said that the $171 was for the 5 days I was there I’m August and since I didn’t pay it on time, I was charged $40 for the late fee. Of course she did not believe me when I told her about my encounter with another office person who told me I owed “nothing.” My fault for not getting it in writing
I've lived at The Dunes at City Center in Lenexa, KS for 5 years. Even though there has been several changes in management since I first moved in, overall it has been a pleasant experience. The area is very quiet and there is quick access to highways. There all also great food and grocery stores close by. Maintenance is great, always have a quick response time. I have not had any complaints while living in this community. Highly recommend!
I've lived at the Dunes for just over a year, and did not hesitate to renew my lease recently. In addition to several capital improvements undergone in the last year, there are plenty of amenities for residents, including a Business Center, two free coffee bars on property, a workout center, two meticulously cared-for pools and a hottub, laundry facilities, and grounds that are well-cared for. The community is ideally located in the middle of a quiet suburban neighborhood, within walking distance of three grocery stores (including an organic foods store), nearby restaurants, and several nearby businesses. It is also adjacent to the intersection of two traffic thoroughfares, 87th Street Parkway and I-435, for quick commuting to anywhere in the KC Metro area. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and maintenance requests and other unforeseen contingencies are always attended to in a timely and competent fashion. Expect a peaceful suburban living experience, right in the heart of a great city!
The apartment complex definitely has potential. Improvements have been made to the interior of the apartments with new carpet and new carpentry in the kitchen and bathroom. However the constant delays in the improvements to the exterior such as the maintenance to open one of our pools and constant work being done to the main pool. There is constant speeding down the community roads and the lack of parking outside of your building.
