Property Ratings at The Pointe at Dorset Crossing
Moved in a little over a month ago. The apartments are up to date, very spacious, maintenance is speedy and professional! The floor plan resembles a house, which is rare in apartments - definitely a perk! Very scenic, private, and very peaceful complex. Everything has been wonderful!

I recently moved into Dorset Crossing, and couldn’t be happier with my decision to live here. The management team has been phenomenal. They seamlessly walked me through the application process after finding me the perfect apartment. The location is perfect, with access to local restaurants and a rail trail. The complex is pet friendly as well.

I’ve lived at the Pointe at Dorset Crossing for two years. They have nice amenities like a seasonal pool and average apartment complex gym. Maintenance is always prompt and helpful.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about your stay with us! Please give us a call or stop by our office if you ever need anything!
I recently moved here from NY and I am so pleased by the atmosphere, the amenities, and most of all the outstanding service I have received! From the very first day I looked at the apartment complex, I have received the utmost courtesy, information, and cooperation. The manager Karen has far exceeded my expectations - from helping me thru the application process to addressing questions and taking care of any issue that arose - amazing. I look forward to a long and happy stay at the Pointe at Dorset Crossing. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, lovely apartment to call home.

Quiet apartments just out of Simsbury town center. The maintenance team is phenomenal, always responding quickly to concerns and going out of their way to be friendly.

Hi, thank you for the positive review! Please give us a call or stop by our office if you ever need anything!
Friendly and responsive staff, well-maintained property, and a quiet place to live that is conveniently located to many restaurants and shops. Management is on top of communication regarding events and reminders. Only downside to the complex is the limited parking available, particularly in the later hours of the evening.

Hello, thank you for your review! Please give us a call or stop by our office if you ever need anything!
We toured our 2bedroom apartment and knew the same day that this was going to be our next home. The maintenance is super friendly, leasing office is very sweet and friendly, and lastly everyone who lives here is quiet and friendly as well. It’s been a joy to live here! I highly recommend!

Hi, we appreciate you sharing this positive feedback with us! Thank you again for the wonderful review!
I moved in when the new management took over. I planned to stay for 5 years, and moved in 8 months. 40 percent rent increases, 50 percent garage increases, declining services and increasing fees. Note that all good reviews are 3-4 years ago before management changed. Steer clear.

I’ve lived here with my fiancé for 4 years. Loved this place before new management. Cleanliness has declined significantly since new management. No one is held accountable for their pets (I am also a pet owner). Management does NOT care about you, corporate mentality and gaslights you when you bring up concerns. Forget about getting a maintenance call in, don’t hold you breath. Apartments are cheaply repaired even upon move in. For what I pay I decided to buy a house and move the heck out of here. Look elsewhere! Grass is dying, dog park is falling apart, and management refuses to take responsibility. Can’t wait to move out in a month !

Hi, we appreciate your honest review. We set a high standard for ourselves, so we are disappointed to hear that your experience with us was not a more positive one. If you would be willing, please reach out to our Property Manager at (860) 544-2247 so we can discuss this matter in hopes of reaching a resolution.
New management here is absolutely terrible. Rent is astronomically high, the property manager and assistant are very unhelpful and lazy. These apartments went from being owned by a smaller company who cares about their tenants to a larger company who threatens and throws legalities around all the time. Stay away from this place and don't renew your lease here!
After living here a couple years a new company just purchased the place and jacked up the rent. I was offered a renewal that was $700 higher then my current rent here. They also hiked the garage from 125 to $175. This place is decent but not worth anywhere near the current rip off rates. Shop elsewhere.
I would highly suggest looking elsewhere! This complex seems nice at first but in reality things are falling apart. There is zero noise control so you can hear everything both inside and out, the interiors are sloppily put together, and there are cracks in the ceilings and floors. The best thing about it by far is it's location and luckily there are so many much nicer and newer properties close by!!

No one answers the phone here or returns calls. So you can’t rent and if something is available and you cant complete the application, no is there to help. Makes you wonder how they will be if you live there.

Quality communication is of the utmost importance to our team, so we are sorry to hear we've missed your calls. We ask that you be sure to leave a detailed message so that we can call you back as soon as possible. We understand your frustration and hope to speak to you soon.
We have just renewed our lease for a second year because we love living here. Initially we thought it was expensive but we love the facilities, the pool is amazing and because it’s heated it’s great even on not so sunny days, the clubhouse is great I pop in for coffee (free)and to do my printing (free) and there’s a (free)fruit trolley compliments of a great local store. There’s a small library of books (free) and lots of games ( free) there’s even a games night once a month .There is a huge screen tv and (free) internet. I don’t use the gym (free) as much as I should but it’s great and open 24 hours. There are (free) bicycles for use and local bike paths for short cycle into town of a longer ride up to Massachusetts. We have two cars so are really glad for the (free) car wash and (free) vacuum. We rent a garage for one car but have never had a problem parking outside our building and there is always lots of extra unused spaces at the clubhouse . We don’t have a dog but there is a dog park and lots if dog stations with (free) poop bags so no dog mess is ever left. My apartment building has at least 6 dogs and a few children but I can honestly say I never hear any noise in my apartment. I did read some old reviews before we moved in saying soundproofing between apartments is poor but we can’t tell if neighbours are home or not and we have kids and dogs next door and downstairs !! The apartment itself is fab, we have a 2 bedrooms and den, it’s very spacious and light. We love sitting on the balcony, we face into some trees and worried it would be dark but the whole complex is so bright and so peaceful. The apartments are well insulated so we don’t use the heating/air as often as we expected. The staff in the complex are great Heather, Christine, Eric and Christian, the guys check the apartments twice a year for any maintenance needed and even replace lightbulbs(free)but you can report any issues and no matter how small they fix it immediately . Food vans visit on Tuesdays and the staff organise events often with free food and drink e.g. St Paddy’s, Easter egg hunt etc I’m sure I have forgotten lots if details of living at The Pointe but when we moved here from the UK we read all the reviews to help make our decision so I hope this helps you. We can’t fault this place!!

It has been our pleasure to make sure you are provided with an amazing place to call home. If you were to have any questions or concerns moving forward, please be sure to reach back out to us. Thanks again! - The Pointe at Dorset Crossing Team
We called The Pointe home for nearly three years and truly enjoyed the experience! Starting out in a one bedroom then upgrading to a two bedroom, there was plenty of room to cook, relax, and entertain. The amenities were awesome as we used the outdoor grill and fire places year round, as well as hosted a large gathering in the Clubhouse. Resident appreciation activities and food truck Tuesdays are a great way of mingling with neighbors. Heather and Christine were unbelievably helpful in the management office, while Eric and Chris handled any maintenance requests immediately. Had we not relocated to be closer to our work, we would still love living at the Pointe!

I am renewing my lease here for a second year. The location is great for me since I travel a lot for work so it is less than a 15 minute uber to the airport. I like that it is somewhat rural but also close to groceries, pharmacy, coffee, good food and shopping. I am not a city person. I use the gym regularly and they have a good amount of different events. I don't use the pool too much but it is really nice in the summer. I actually use the car vacuum all year and the grills for cooking. The staff has always been great and helpful when needed. I think l get my moneys worth here and am happy to come home.

I only moved here three days ago and my neighbor has had the police called on him everyday for screaming obscenities and making threatening remarks! I asked the leasing office and they admitted to knowing about it for weeks before I signed my lease and are in the “process” of eviction which they say could take months! I have young children and feel incredibly afraid and unsafe!

We signed a short term lease and we were relieved to be leaving due to very poor noise insulation. We heard our neighbors to the side and below continually. Nice and clean but happy to leave.
Prestigious luxury is far from the truth. Although it is a decent place to live, it's not at all what it appears to be. The only thing close by is the airport. You will find out soon enough if you live here because the flight path is directly over the complex. The appliances, even if they are "stainless steel" are bottom line. The granite is of the lowest grade. Parking is horrible. Absolutely nothing is included in the overpriced rent that you pay. You'll have to pay for water, electric, trash, etc. The best part is the "state of the art gym" a couple treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes with some free weights. I will not renew my lease here. Do your research.
Ive lived here for a few weeks now and here are my initial impressions...the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is pretty good. Close to restaurants and stores but not to busy. The exercise equipment is pretty good. The apartment sorta remind me of a fake Rolex watch. Looks good until you figure out what you got. The stainless appliances are the cheapest quality possible and barely work well. The granite counters have rough edges and nearly cut your hands. Cheap floors that look okay. The parking is terrible. When I get home in the evening I rarely can find a spot near my entrance. Quite a few nights I had to park a long way away and walk through the entire complex, this is a huge hassle, especially carrying groceries. People who have garages don't seem to use them. As more and more people move in this will get even worse. The trash container is all the way on the other side of the complex. I don't like putting the trash in the car to take it to the trash container and once the snow comes it will be a problem. The worst part is the noise from the construction. (im assuming this will eventually end) The workers start very early, like 6am and all you hear is non stop back up beepers and trucks all day long. So forget about sleeping past 6am. They should have finished the construction before renting apartments...On the plus side the neighbors seem pretty nice. When the time comes to renew my lease I'm probably going to look elsewhere. Wildly over priced for what you get.
A place that feels like you are on vacation. Beautiful construction, amenities. A gym that is open 24/7 and heated pool. Safe, quiet neighborhood. Thanks apartments.com for helping me find home!
The apartment complex is brand new. Actually still under construction. Finishes are high end and high ceiling make it feel spacious. Amenities include 24 hour gym and outdoor pool with gas grills and fire pit. They offer bikes to use on nearby bike paths. There is also an electric car charging station. Sound proofing is great..can not hear neighbors. Management has been great to address all the minor problems with new complex.
Brand new complex. Still under construction, but quiet overall. Apartments are spacious enough. Beautiful apartments. Gym is awesome, clubhouse would be better if open 24/7. Staff is helpful.
