I work long hours so I don’t get to attend many of the events. the office manager Bri has been especially helpful and very nice since I became a resident. I only wish I could say that my apartment was a bit more up to standard. A lot of small issues that weren’t fixed after reporting them was annoying and now that’s it cold i have just let it slide. I only know one of my neighbors others aren’t around or outside when i am home and the loud music can be annoying when it’s late at night when I have to work early in the morning. Overall the community is quiet and unfortunately well in. very wooded area making wifi signals bad!

Save your time and money
Been here over a year now and it’s just gone downhill. Pool was “closed” for multiple years so it couldn’t be used but people still used it so they had to resort to locking and chaining the gates shut, which is annoying that the pool couldn’t have been fixed sooner. While the pool is finally open now, they have now had to lock one of the gates to keep “intruders” from coming in which is yet another inconvenience to residents who use the on site laundry room in the clubhouse as they now have to walk all the way around through the front or back of the property to get there. There were still nails in the walls that had just been painted over when we moved in, the carpet hadn’t been replaced in years and had dried paint and other stains, as well as in some of the door areas, spots had been frayed and missing fibers and pulling up from the floor. A lot of the A/C units are from the 80’s when the place was originally built and are unable to handle the heat and humidity recently so expect a high energy bill if you don’t keep the house warm during the summer and have an older unit. A lot of the exteriors have damaged siding that’s just been repainted over the years. I think they finally got enough complaints about leaking roofs in the upper units that they started replacing roofs but all they did was patch the areas in the unit that were leaking. There are no overhead lights in the bedrooms (at least in my unit) so be prepared to spend money on light fixtures if that’s the case in other units and some of the switches on the wall control the power to the wall outlets. While maintenance is fairly decent, we have specified multiple times to call before they show up so that someone can be there, but that has happened maybe one out of 5 requests and we have been either caught off guard if someone was there, or maintenance will come, not enter and then mark the work order as complete and not do anything. Also be prepared for the office to be closed for multiple hours on end or to even close early. There have been times where I have tried to go in after I get off work but still during their posted hours and everything has been locked up and turned off. Even going back shortly thereafter but still within the timeframe resulted in it still being closed. For the amount of rent they want for these places, the fit/finishes and amenities are definitely not worth the money.

all the glitters isnt gold
I moved into this apartment looking at reviews at the start of covid. while I have enjoyed some of my stay the mgt sucks. Maintenance is the worst. Put an order in letting them know there was mold in my home and that has been 30days ago and no resolution. Someone came out twice after I requested a call first so that I would be here and neither time instruction was not followed, and no work was done. 2.5 weeks later, office called and said someone would come out that week, still haven't seen anyone. I was smelling mildew and the vents looks as if the filters haven't been changed since the apartments were put up. There is corrosion and rust all in the air shaft. My bedroom window poured water when it rained. Reported that twice and still no resolution. Most recently have heard gunfire and 6 months ago there was altercation between a couple that led to shots. And although you cant catch every bad tenant background should be taken into consideration Things to take into consideration when moving into a space pay attention to the trims of the ceilings, base of the walls especially laundry area as well as underneath the bathroom sinks. There are hidden dangers to be discovered. My laundry room walls are starting to peel from the damage and I only use that space for storage, i have never had a washer/dryer. All in all, look beyond the fireplace, amenities, patio, and green landscape, your health is more important. All units are not the same I'm sure, but for the price you pay to live here there should be better care place in maintaining the property...signed someone seeking another home.

My honest review is that this apartment complex is not that great. For a first apartment would acceptable but not for a second or for a long term stay. Maintenance is horrible. I had to replace my own filters MOVING IN. It was filthy. I really dont think my apartment was cleaned throughly before move in. Do not recommend.

The ceiling in my apartment has been leaking for over a week. There has been no resolution or communication from the office to inform me of what actions will be taken. My personal belongings have been damaged and I have developed a sinus infection and cough from the mold.

Beautiful landscaping; very friendly staff
I have been visiting my friend at this property for years. It's beautiful; the staff is friendly, great workout room, but most of all, I love it when she invites as her guest to the pool; I feel like I'm at a mountain resort. This is a beautiful place to live.

Just Say No
Moved out recently, and it could not be fast enough. All the following information is 100% true, based upon personal observation, or information gathered from other residents or staff, in accordance with the Terms of Use of this site. If you are ever silly enough to live there, you had best get all promised upgrades in writing, in-advance. I waited months for promised upgrades, and when they did not materialize, the typical refrain was, "It'll be a few more weeks." Long-term residents have waited years for promised work, with nothing or little being done--talked directly to several of them. Management will charge separately for water, sewer, and trash pickup. I overheard a manager once say to another resident who was complaining about something in the front office, "We get sued all the time. If I had a dollar for every time we had to go to court...." Bad residents? Bad management? Both? The front entrance facing N. Elm looks great, as does the pool area, but if you look closely at the buildings, external heat pumps, and landscaping toward the back of the property, you will likely notice numerous, small problems. I'm told the present owners own just the one complex in town, and they cut corners whenever possible, such as installing the cheapest carpet and fixtures. Don't be dazzled (like I was) by the shade trees, upgraded model unit, and reasonable rates (see separate fees, above). I have lived in apartments and rented houses in several states while successfully chasing a career, and the Point at Irving Park was, by far, my worst rental experience.

The Point At Irving Park
This property from the outside looking in appears to be a very nice place. It is great and convenient to several points of interest including banks, grocery stores, and shopping plazas. The updated models are flashier than the older models currently occupied. This apartment has gone through several management companies who all have added their own unique touches to the place, however, only one, has improved the apartments moderately. It does have a large pool with a gazebo accommodated two charcoal stainless steel grills. The traditional apartments not updated models remind me of hotels which provide kitchens with appliances. Maintenance has been fantastic since the new company has taken over in January.
