Brea-Olinda encompasses the center of Brea and stretches east towards Yorba Linda. The area is less than four miles northeast of Fullerton and is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Known for its great school district, Brea-Olinda provides renters a laid-back LA area with slightly more affordable costs of living. You’ll still find an assortment of hip bars, top-notch restaurants, and well-maintained parks in between the modern mid-rise apartments that have started popping up in the area. Brea-Olinda shines as a unique place to enjoy everything Orange County has to offer. The area’s up-and-coming arts and music scene make it a prime location to explore the cultural side of the community, and Chino Hills State Park to the east makes for an easy escape from the bustle of the city.

Property Ratings at The Pointe
Horrible experience here. Was having extremely bad allergies when we first moved in and I checked the air filters to find they were basically non existent. The washers and dryers always had a foul order that we were never able to get rid of no matter how many different cleaning supplies we tried. There was also an infestation of cockroaches and rats at the apartments. We only stayed 6 months before breaking our lease and leaving due to the living conditions. When it came time to leave management and their leasing consultant were extremely rude. I would not recommend anyone move into these motel style apartments.
Property Manager at The Pointe, Responded To This Review
Hello, we apologize for the negative experience you had with our community and team. we do appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and will take all of your concerns into consideration when training with our team. Best regards, The Pointe Apartments Management
I'm going on my 2nd year at this property. Not use to living in a complex, so this is new to me. There is some noise, but it's quite tolerable, though I live on the side away from the freeway. As for management, they've been great and very easy to deal with. The apartment (2 BR) is quite comfortable and the complex is conveniently located near OC/LA boundary. I highly recommend.
Despite expensive living, The Pointe doesn't care much about cockroaches in the hallways. I saw many on the hallways very often. Also, no cell phone signals and you cannot receive any local TV signal. The management is very difficult to deal with. Don't expect to see your security deposit back when you leave. They would come up with reasons to charge for more than $200 even when you cleaned the place and didn't damage any thing. They said their policy is different from other apts. I feel the security deposit should be used when things are damaged; not for increasing the resale value, which should be regular budget from the company. I would not recommend any renter who do not want to deal with bad management to The Point apt
We moved in this past January '14 and have had no problems at all thus far. Previous reviews discuss noise but we've had no complaints. Our apartment faces the inside and is away from the freeway and pool so this may be part of the reason we haven't had any noise issues. The pool is underwhelming though. 3 1/2 feet and it's a tiny square. No spa. We pay a little extra to be on the 4th floor and this may also help with the noise, from outside and/or above (there are only 4 floors).
My boyfriend and I just moved out and so glad we did. We read some reviews online but we didn't listen. The apartments are nice, but overpriced. The office staff are only there Monday - Saturday so if you work during the week don't count on ever seeing the manager. Kids running and screaming, constant noise in the hallways. They claimed it was a smoke free community, which was the main reason we moved in, but it wasn't. The turnover is constant, people seem to want to leave after 3 months. If there is one good thing about living there is the City of Brea. Nice mall, restaurants and easy freeway access...oh don't take an apartment facing the freeway...or the fountain area like we did. The noise from the freeway is amplified in the fountain area. And the maintenance people are cutting the lawn at 6:00 am.
This apartment is located next to the mall, downtown Brea, and the freeway, which is great. It is well-maintained and the apartments are spacious. However, the noise is intolerable. Children are left to scream incessantly during the day and in the evening in the pool/courtyard areas without parental moderation. You can hear their screaming throughout the complex. They have noise limits for adults in the evening (which is really just a few hours), but not for kids who are free to scream and disturb the community at all hours of the day. I realize kids are noisy but there is a difference between just playing and being ridiculous. Parents and the management should moderate this noise and put time limits on screaming/use of communal areas for the benefit of everyone who lives here.
Maybe they were rushing building the apartment during 2008. Each unit has weird dripping noise from the wall. Elevators have problems all the time. Parking garage has leak.. That will damage your car paint. Paying almost $2000 per month definitely not worth it.
