Property Ratings at The Policy
I made an appointment to tour this location and recieved not one but THREE confirmations of my appointment, when I arrived and used the call box to get in the building -- the person that answered said my tour was canceled and I should have recieved an email. I let her know of the 3 confirmation emails and did not have a single one that said "canceled" and she responded with "we arent open for tours on Saturday". I traveled from out of town to view the apartment and was disappointed with the lack of consideration or notification.
UIP is, by far, the most unresponsive and ineffectual property management company I have ever worked with. It is impossible to get them to respond to an email about, well, anything. My building (The Policy) is absolutely infested with roaches - I'm talking 3 skittering in the hallways every single day and the trash chutes looking as if they're alive from the number of roaches inhabiting them. UIP will not provide any details on what they are doing to fix the issue - in fact, they are largely unresponsive. You may be thinking "well, he's just a disgruntled tenant..." - I love my apartment, I love the neighborhood, I WANT to stay in my building. But I cannot continue to live in a pest-infested apartment with a property company that refuses to do anything about it - I hope you heed this review and chose not to rent from UIP.
The building is nice and is in a beautiful area. However, they have no secure options for mail delivery. Peoples' items are being stolen on an almost constant basis. Management is doing nothing about this. Thieves are consistently targeting this building. People are finding their mail ripped up and thrown out in nearby streets and alleys. Along with making it very difficult to work from home, this is clearly attracting dangerous people to the buidling who are consistently coming in and out to rob people. I have personally been robbed multiple times in recent weeks. Other nearby buildings with similar rents have more amenities including doormen and gyms. Secure mail is a very, very basic one.
I called in to ask about their studio apartments. The lady on the phone was barely interested in answering my questions, and refused send me any pictures/ additional information about the apartment! Very disappointed and will not even bother to consider this place at any point now/ in the future.
