The Gulfport-Biloxi Metro is a stunning location on the Mississippi Gulf. The two distinct cities that make up the metropolitan area encompass three different counties: Hancock, Stone, and Harrison. While Gulfport and Biloxi are two separate cities, many locals consider the metro one area.
Gulfport composes the larger portion of the metro and is the second most populated city in the state of Mississippi. The city is a desirable coastal oasis, offering residents a laid-back atmosphere with plenty to do in terms of eating, entertainment, and outdoor activity. Gulfport locals enjoy the perks of paradise, including oceanfront views and white sand, as well as more practical benefits, such as easy access to I-10 for work commutes.
Ocean Springs is a popular location for Gulfport newcomers that offers walkable residential streets, plenty of quality eateries, and a rich culture of creativity. Other popular Gulfport neighborhoods include Long Beach and the Orange Grove.

Property Ratings at The Preserve Apartments
The property looks nice from the outside, but do not be fooled. Management is not good, people literally argue/fight all hours of the night, upstairs neighbors walk/stomp around constantly, and the air breaks way too often. This place isn't the absolute worse out there but it isn't good neither.

I've been living here for one month and in that time I've had 2 apartments!! The first so so disgusting upon move in and NOT the layout I chose. In this month I've gone almost 3 weeks with no AC, no washer and dryer, dishwasher wouldn't work, and today my fridge went out. We pay $25 for trash pickup that NEVER picks up trash. There are bags piling up outside apartments. We pay for them to spray for bugs which they were supposed to do the 26th of September but Noone came. RUN RUN RUN!!!!

I moved from California. I knew that it was going to be hard to find a place in Mississippi that would compare to the apartments in California. I looked at 4 different complexes and this one had the best set up by far. My appliances are brand new which is a huge plus. Looks like they’re doing something to the pool because it isn’t open and I see guys out there working so I can’t review that. Overall great little place.
I’ve been here two weeks. My ac is still out, my heat barely works. They promised a new dishwasher that’s suppose to come with the “newly remodeled apartments” but still no word on it and we are left with one that doesn’t work at all. Already had two packages missing and there’s no where to park, but they are very animal friendly tho. Best place to let your dogs bark all day.
You can disregard any reviews posted prior to April 2021 when new owners/management took over. Positive: Good location, aesthetically nice exterior. Reality: Buildings are nearly 30 years old, poorly insulated, old AC units that struggle to function efficiently resulting in high power bills. Noise level is high with parking lot music, traffic and loud landscaping done multiple times weekly. "Upgrades" are cheap and do not warrant these rents. Don't even think about getting your deposit back. There are much nicer, newer places in the area for less money. New management not responsive, with excuses rather than solutions. Posted by a now former resident who moved after 15 years because rent increased by 40%.
"Welcome Home" is one of the things that they tell you when you sign your lease. I moved here June 2018. I love it. It is centrally located to everything almost. 1.5 miles from the beach, around the corner from Walmart, mall, movie theater, doctor's office, etc. The managers and staff are very friendly. The residence is clean and relaxing. You can't wait to hear, "WELCOME HOME!"
The entire complex is infested with bed bugs. They fail to properally treat the infestation and make tenants pay for it even if there was a prior problem with them. The women are unkind and have said one tenant is not a loss to them there will be more.
The so called management here are the most unpleasant women that both my husband and I have ever met! I have been treated with such disrespect every time I have had to deal with them. They made it clear to me today that they do NOT care about the residents safety when they told me that the breeze way lights in my intire building being out all weekend (leaving the halls and stairways completely dark) was not a priority to fix that they are not liable for any injury to you and or your property during the 2 night without light. There are an abundance of elderly residents who live in the apartments and I myself am 18 weeks pregnant. On the lease we were promised every 3 months there would be an exterminator and I have not seen one at all, I am home all day and I have dogs, I would have known if they came to the door. We have a roach and flea infestation and talking to other residents I have found out that they are having the same problem. Their tiny dog park is also infested with fleas and the fence around it is falling apart, I've had to treat my dogs for worms 5 times in the last 6 months due to that same gross dog park. There are so many other complaints but there are too many to list. Really the only respectful and diligent people I have met here are the maintenance men.
Of all the apartments that I have rented over the last 20-25 years, I have to admit that the landscaping at this apartment is A . The service is awesome and the staff really care about the residents. I would recommend it to anyone looking in the area.
Let's talk location! When we arrived in the Gulfport-Biloxi area, I drove by several places to check out the neighborhoods because I have heard some areas down here can be pretty bad. There are pockets of good and bad areas along the coast. This location is definitely one of the good. It is situated right between Gulfport and Biloxi, directly across from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. What is attractive about this is that you aren't surrounded by a bunch of hooligans - people are attending this college to get ahead in life and better themselves. There are no dorms at this community college so there are no parties. Buildings in the cities of Gulfport and Biloxi spread apart the further out you get from the city center, and because it is not off Pass Rd (one of the main roads), there is hardly any traffic noise. We live in one of the buildings by the gate/road, and being a small-town girl, I'm not used to lots of traffic noise, but this is not a problem for me. It is also about as far as you can get from the railroad, which runs south of Pass Road through both cities. The apartments are a mile and a half from the beach (far enough to feel ok during a tropical storm!). A short walk behind the college and down the road a bit is a wonderful boardwalk-style Bayou Walk that edges the bay to the north of the cities. So there is a nice nature element to this apartment location as well. One reason I picked this place is because of the beautifully maintained landscaping! There are tall trees, crepe myrtles, & plenty of green. I like the winding paths through the center of the complex, as well as the lovely fountain in the pond which I can hear from my open window at night. The small playground & free car wash/vac is a nice touch! There is also a nice black iron gate around the entire place, including a key pass/code system. While the gate is open during daytime work hours, it closes after dinner & on the weekends, which likely deters outside crime. Nearly everyone I have seen who lives here looks nice/professional/military and not...trashy, if you know what I mean. I feel safe here. The inside is older but do have some updates & are very clean and well-maintained by a friendly staff of 2-3 maintenance guys and 2 friendly & professional office ladies. The rooms are full of big, beautiful windows with lots of natural light! I do wish the windows were newer & insulated better. There are fans in all the rooms. Overall, we very much enjoy living here!
I loved the Plantation complex so much I moved back here 10 years later. It has a very nice lay out and very nice grounds. They currently have new management, and have been upgrading some of the aging features: New Bark Park for dogs, new/clean signage. revamped landscaping, completely redone business center with new state of the art Win 10 PC's, new gym equipment....ther area few things I'd still like to see them do like edging the landscape, and replace the archaic electronic gate, but other than that, it's a great place to live, the ladies that manage the property are wonderful, and I'm glad I came back.
This complex is the perfect hideaway. You are close to lots of amenities and public transportation but are still in a quiet area away from the main roads. The apartments are clean, well maintained and pet friendly. The office staff is the nicest I've ever dealt with. It is a beautiful complex, lots of trees, dog park, lots of parking, very quiet. Highly recommend. Very happy here.
I love living here. I'm only a mile from the beach and everything I need is in a 5mile radius. We are set back enough to avoid the noise of traffic and congestion of everyday life. The only draw back is parking and the swimming pool isn't every big for the size of the property. The staff here are wonderful people.
Nice place to live overall, but noise is certainly an issue. The office staff and the maintenance staff are very nice.
