Property Ratings at The Preserve at Mesa Hills
I moved in with my fiancé in January. In the first week that I stayed here, my fiancé and I were at work when maintenance came and left the back and front doors open. When we went to the office, they were rude and couldn't help us figure out what happened. Then we had a water leak in the kitchen ceiling and all they did was paint over it. Later, the tub in the second room got clogged, even though we don't use it, and water kept coming out of the drain. They took forever to come and fix it, despite us putting in multiple work orders. Two to three months ago, I was getting ready for work when maintenance came into the room unannounced while I was changing. They said that they had sent a message letting us know they were coming, but we never received a message or a text from them. When I talked to the lady at the front desk, she was rude and said that she had sent a message but couldn't send it again because the internet was down. They said that the apartment next door had a leak and they had to remove our vanity and make a hole in the bathroom. They warned that if we didn't let maintenance come in, we would be the ones paying for the damage. I was upset because they came unannounced, not because we didn't want them to fix the leak. However, they removed our vanity and made a hole in the bathroom, and we put in work orders back to back, but they never came to fix it. Now we have two holes in our main bedroom, and there's water and mold everywhere in both bathrooms and closets. They said they were coming this week to fix it, but no one came. And now the kitchen sink is also messed up, and water barely comes out from the faucet. When we mentioned that we would like to move out or transfer apartments, they said we had to pay an extra fee to transfer to another unit, and if we wanted to move out, we had to pay.

Marilyn, we understand your frustration with the emergency repairs needed to fix a leak. We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to complete repairs as quickly as possible. Please continue to stay in touch with our onsite team directly in our office.
I would not recommend living here, and would give 0 stars if I could. This apartment complex is severely outdated and in need of repairs - swamp coolers and ceiling fans are constituted as "AC". The ceiling fans are all on the same frequency, so multiple times throughout the day and night, the light/fan will turn on or off because a neighbor is changing the settings in their apartment. The swamp coolers are controlled by the office and as of June 3rd, 2024 have still not been turned on- when I inquired as to when they would be turned on I was asked for my apartment number 3 times with no reason as to why it was needed to answer the question. I gave them my apartment building, but that wasn't enough. Eventually, I was told it was their "policy". When I called back and spoke to someone different I was told the swamp coolers were being repaired and would "hopefully be done by the end of this week". It hasn't rained in months, and we've already neared triple digits multiple times this month. It makes no sense that they are just now trying to fix the swamp coolers. We have a heat wave warning for Wednesday through Thursday, this is unacceptable. Most "repairs" are not repairs, but simply "jimmy rigs", you have to pay for your trash to be collected ($20 per month), and you can't opt out of it. Rent fluctuates monthly, people are at the pool late into the night with loud speakers, the laundry room always has several machines out of order, and when questions or concerns are brought to the staff's attention, they are little to no help. I would not recommend renting here at all.

Ciara, we assure you that our residents' happiness here is of the utmost importance to us and we'd like to reaffirm that with you. We hope that you'll visit or call us in the office so that we can talk about your concerns and see how to make your stay more enjoyable. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
(We’ve seen multiple on our our walks)We are actually very clean people but we got roaches we even bought our own poison/repellent and they’re still appearing we even took our cleaning habits to an extreme and still can’t get rid of them!!! An exterminator comes 2 times within the year and we still see them around the buildings also there is dog poop everywhere
In your lease it states you are obligated to clean the carpets before move out. We did this and gave the receipt to the lady in the office before we moved. They still charged us for carpet cleaning fees. I contacted them and they said that they never received it, but to either email it to them or text them it. I did both. I never heard back and was never refunded. When moving out don’t bother paying to clean the carpets. It’s cheaper not too since you will be charged anyway. Also there’s always dog poop on the ground outside that they don’t do anything about. Other than these two things it’s a fine place to stay. Maintenance guys are super nice and intelligent, can’t say the same about the office ladies.
Worst staff ever, the manager is pretty rude. He is pretty sarcastic and doesn’t help to the residents
Great property. Knowledgeable staff and very polite.
Do NOT RENT HERE Worst apartment ever you'll be charged $ 899.99 for utility and cleaning services
The best thing i have to say about this apartment is the cheap price. Other than that defiantly not as good as the website puts it out to be. I was deployed when i first saw the apartment and the staff were very helpful with getting the apartment i wanted. They told me the apartment had bleach stains on the carpet in numerous places but not to worry since the carpet will be replaced. When i got to El Paso of coarse the staff changed which is a pretty common thing at the instillation. This staff would do nothing about the stains everywhere so i copped with the problem which was minor. The swamp coolers didn't cool anything down just raised the electricity bill, same with the heaters. The are absolutely no help during the winters. So you gotta buy heaters and a window A/C unit. The unit has many kids running around in which numerous times there were kids peeing outside on the sidewalks along with a rock getting thrown through our patio door. The gated community sounds nice at first but the gates never seem to work and most of the gates are always open. There were people always digging through the trash. Paying for parking spots is a must due to finding one is almost impossible. The walls are super thin so you can hear absolutely everything. Along with the appliances being super outdated and all the cabinets being made out of particle board, so they were defiantly very cheap. Once i put in my 60 day notice, all the sudden i got an eviction notice. The notice was for not paying rent in which i brought in all my receipts which i highly recommend keeping all of them. The staff said they couldn't find it in there system which wasn't my problem for keeping track of where they put my check since my receipt showed they received my payment. They accepted the receipt at first until 9 months after i move out i have a debt collector calling saying i owe a full month of rent. I moved out 2 weeks into the month so how can they wait 9 months and charge for a full month. So i went and talked to the manager which was absolutely no help at all. Very rude and all she cared about was getting off work and not fixing their mess up. They couldn't even prove they sent a letter to show if i owed anything, which shows no professionalism. So i gave up on the staff and just went higher and had to deal with corporate. So after 11 months of moving finally got the mess up fixed due to their mistakes.
Going on almost 6 months at The Preserve & have no complaints! I love my apartment. The staff is nice & quick to respond. Parking is always available & the surroundings are always clean. The complex is quiet & the pool area is awesome for summer cookouts. Only suggestion I have would be to put different machines in the gym. And yes, I would definitely recommend these apartments!
Nice apartment and nice staff here. They will take care of your problem right away.
I only just moved in but so far they have had wonderful customer service and very clean sidewalks and grassy, tree shaded areas. Best apartments I've lived in so far!
Living at the Preserve has been great. It was simple from beginning and straightforward. I didn't have to keep coming back and forth to seal my contract and got my keys quickly on move in day. I am in a renovated one bedroom and it is very nice. The white cabinets and black appliances make everything look so much more modern and especially for the price of the apartment it's a steal! Any time I've needed maintenance to be completed the staff does it right away. My air conditioner was blowing out hot air and they came immediately to fix the problem! It's been great living here and I would recommend it especially for the gated entrance and quiet atmosphere too.
This place is awesome!!! Going on 4 years and love it!! Robert T.
i have lived here for 5 years and the grounds are reallynice!!!!Green grass and trees and a beautiful pool area!!!!Maintenance people are really great and very prompt in fixing your problems. Management in the off are reallygreat also! Larry Horn
Other than the swamp cooler, it's a great place to live!
I just recently moved here and the experience so far has been so great! The staff is amazing and has helped me every step of the way. The maitenance is on point and keeps the apartments clean and beautiful. The pool is nice and there is always parking available. My unit came with new carpet and appliances and I could not be happier. The location is great. The apartments are in a place where it doesn't feel overwhelmed by the city and you can see the beautiful mountains. Also live close enough to the mall and various shops. Pet friendlyy so that's a plus! Will be here a long while.
I have lived here for 7 month I have nothing to complain about grass gets cut Every other weekend maintenance staff is very responsive and after fixing the inconvinience ask and make sure things are still good the maneger and secretaries are very polite and don't doubt on answering any question the pool is just perfect and when friends come over are impressed when they see my apartment and ask payment even more impressed it's located near shopping locations there is a nice park in front and a nice scenario when jogging nearby areas.controlled access and covered parking .
My daughter and I are going on our Fifth year living here and it's great. The office and maintenance staff are great. They always care to our needs.
I've been living here since 2000 and it's been Great ?? the personnel and the administration amazing.,.. Great support and a very Secure place!!!
Staff has great customer service, maintenance quick to respond, apartments great price and beautiful scenery.(:
To tell you about my stay at The Preserve Apartments, well the rent cost is very reasonable for what you're getting. The entire parking lot was resealed, and parking is always available. The maintenance staff were on their game, and anytime I needed something, they were quick to fix it. The pool area has been remodeled, and now has a stainless gas grill as opposed to outdated charcoal grills. I stayed in a 1 bedroom apt on the second floor, the apt was quite, and the landscaping is very nice, and well maintained. I'd recommend this apartment complex if you're living and work in the west side of town.
My husband and I moved in just over a month ago and this apartment has been wonderful. When we first came in, we were warmly welcomed to the new area by the women at the front desk area. Our apartment had all new appliances, new carpet, new paint, and new blinds. The rooms were completely clean and very nice. Since moving in, there are maintenance crews on site every day ensuring that the property looks awesome. There was a time that we needed a minor maintenance request for a weird smell in our air vents. I made the request around 10am and they were there an expertly fixed it by 4pm that day. The staff has always been extremely helpful and friendly at any time that we have questions. Overall this has been such a wonderful place to live. The amenities from the covered parking, pools, and the cleanliness of everything has just made this a wonderful experience and I know that my husband and I will be here for a long time.
The staff here are excellent. Great communication.
