Amazing living experience! We just moved after spending two years building our dream home. We were worried about apartment living, but our townhouse was so quite and the community was safe. We loved walking and playing with our kids throughout the community. our neighbors were friendly. Having a garage was an absolute blessing. The office staff were always friendly and very helpful. We just received our security deposit back and the only charge was the final water bill. Such an amazing experience that I was very nervous about in the beginning.

The Preserves is a great place to call home. I have lived here for 3 years and they just installed all new appliances for me. My kids love the property and how many of their friends live a short walk away. The staff is really friendly and always help with anything that needs attention. The maintenance team does a good job with any work orders you put in.

I lived at The Preserves for two years and only moved out when I bought a condo in March of 2019. I recently sold my condo and my first call was to The Preserves. I was happy to hear the familiar voice of Heather answer the phone. She had been my go-to the first time I lived here because she is very good at what she does and is very personable. She routes any concerns or maintenance needs and follows up to make sure I’m happy. I had two little dogs the first time I lived here and they always pulled towards her office when we walked by. I’m sure the treats she always had handy were part of their motivation but Heather genuinely engaged them as little 4 legged residents. The apartments are nice and the maintenance team members are friendly and responsive. It’s just an all around nice place to live.

Such a beautiful and amazing place to live. I have lived here for a few years now and it was a great choice that I made. I enjoy walking the property because they do a great job of upkeeping it. Maintenance is always quick to address any issues or fix anything that needs fixing. Having a garage is a necessity for me, so that has been great! It is a bummer that prices have increased, but let's be real, what hasn't increased in price since the pandemic? I will be renewing because there isn't anything better out there, and I have living in many "luxury" complexes. This one is by far the best!

I'd like to give Heather a BIG Shout Out for assisting me in this move into the lovely Preserves. Heather was very instrumental in my initial search for a townhome and walked me through the entire process from the very beginning. She was patient in my indesiveness and my reluctance to relocate. I absolutely love my new townhome thanks to the assistance of Heather. I couldn't have done it without her! Tiffany

Such a friendly and understanding staff. They always get work orders fixed in a timely manner. The community is so fun, basketball court, on-site gym, great walking community, fantastic views, and my dog loved the dog park. Highly recommend living in this community.

I lived at the preserves for 15 months and regret leaving due to changing jobs. The Wisteria model apartment was huge and very well updated with granite countertops and new carpet. While there, I had the biggest kitchen I've ever had. My unit was near the pond and faced the rising sun. I got full morning sun in my kitchen and a view of the ducks and swans wherever I went through my garage. Management was very friendly and maintenance came within a day. Highly recommend The Preserves.
We moved here in November 2018 and are more than pleased with our apartment and the staff at this property. You could not ask for a nicer place to live or a nicer management staff. However, the snow removal is terrible. It started snowing last night, January 18th. It is now 2 pm on Saturday, January 19th and **NOTHING** has been done to remove the snow from the sidewalks. One of us just experienced a bad fall on the snow-covered sidewalk. At 60 this is an extremely dangerous situation. I immediately called the management office and they were totally understanding, apologetic, and concerned. They are working to get our building (number 57) cleared. But, that does not make up for the complete lack of snow removal. We moved here in order to be relieved of the chores associated with owning a home. This was a primary reason for choosing to move to an apartment complex. We cannot shovel snow anymore. I can't say how disappointed, actually, angry I am about this. The apartment complex has a responsibility to the residents to do all possible to keep us safe, and they have failed miserably. If you are a senior or at all concerned about being able to safely walk in a snowy climate without slipping, falling, or breaking a leg or hip, I would not recommend this complex. Since safety is a primary concern for us, I had to rate the complex as average. Considering how much we enjoy living here, it is unfortunate that I can only rate the complex as average. We signed a three-year lease, and are extremely concerned about what lies ahead for us in snowy weather. I sincerely hope this is a one-time experience and the complex realizes how dangerous snow can be to senior citizens. If this situation changes over the remaining winter months, I will gladly change this review.
What a terrible place to live. I wish there was a 0 star rating for this place. Please do your research and live elsewhere. The staff and management here is the absolute worst. This is my 3rd year so I have some experience living here and honestly the only thing that sold me on this place was the two car garage. Every year they raise the rent (understandable) but on my 3rd year, they decided to raise my rent by $60/mth and move me to to a month to month plan ( $100/mth) without any notice! I've sent multiple emails with no response and visited the office 3 times in the past 3 weeks with 'no one available to discuss my lease'. People park around the island in the center between apartments which makes it difficult for you to get out of you own garage at times and the snow plows usually ignore your area if cars are parked here. The appliances are sub-par and dated. For example, the dryer requires 2-3 full high heat cycles to dry a medium load of clothes, the dishwasher door will not close without using full body weight on it and it does a terrible job. They refused to give me my preferred employer discount even after speaking to them in person multiple times- the answer is always 'I will look into it'. I gave up after my first few months. The poor construction and terrible upkeep of this place really shows once you've had a chance to move in- doors that wont close properly (maintenance fix was smashing the frame with a hammer), pantry/closet knobs that always fall off, cracked walls, shower and tub that creaks with every step, peeling paint/finish applied to the deck, even a carpet nail that stuck up through the carpet (quite painful)! If you have a dog... even worse. Maintenance rarely empties the waste bins (some of which are broken/damaged) and refills the waste bags. I use my own bags so emptying the bins is the real problem. They allow it to overflow to the point where waste filled bags are all over the floor. There is dog waste all over the complex (even by the kids play area!) and I am not sure if it is due to the lack of waste bags or people simply not caring. The premium price that you pay here is 100% not worth it. I've made a terrible mistake moving to the Preserves. All the management here seems to care about here is their new construction. No respect is paid to the people who are already living here.
I have lived at The Preserves for just about 5 years now and could not be happier. It is my Home Sweet Home. After numerous moves, I have finally found the perfect place for me. The staff is top notch. From the ladies in the front office, the lovely cleaning staff and the utterly fantastic maintenance guys, this group is the cream of the crop. Leading the group is manager Judy. I can not say enough good things about her. She truly cares about the residents that live there. I had a hot water heater break late night. It was Judy who called (off duty) and arranged for someone to come out immediately to get the water to stop leaking out. She called the next day to see if anything was ruined, got my water heater replaced that afternoon and called out the carpet company to soak up all the water then had the carpet cleaned. This is the kind of person she is. So considerate and thoughtful. Her work ethics prove that. She constantly goes out of her way to help you. She is the glue that holds the group together. If you have a problem, let the office know and they will do their best to address it and resolve the issue in a very timely manner. The complex itself has a park like setting and is well kept. You feel safe going for a walk at any time of the day. I love the season changes. From the Cherry Blossoms in the Spring to the color changes in the Fall to the Decorations and lights during the holidays, The Preserves make you feel at home. They do a lot to show their appreciation. From holding a monthly breakfast to a Halloween Party for the children and a Christmas party for everyone. They hold an annual Bar B-Q for the complex which is really nice. The apartments are really nice with so many floor plans to choose from. Garages are attached to every unit along with in unit laundry. (no more laundry mats) Living areas are spacious as well as bathrooms and Master bedrooms. There is something for everyone here. Yes, you can hear some noise in the upper or lower apartments but that is to be expected. It's like that in every place I've ever been. It is like having an upstairs in a home. Normally muffled sounds but with your TV on, you can't hear it. The Preserves is close to Entertainment, Freeways, Hospitals, Shopping, numerous places to eat, parks, and so many more things. Make the Preserves your new home. It's a great place to live.
I just recently signed a lease for a Townhouse at the Preserves North in Sterling Heights. During my journey, I met with a number of leasing professionals and none were as kind and as organized as the staff at the Preserves. In particular, my leasing agent Grace Schop was a God Send. She seemed to truly care about me and my situation more than just wanting to lease an apartment. She provided pratical ideas and solutions to some obsticals relating to my personal needs. She understood every aspect of the leasing process and her properties and was always prompt with return calls and on-time and prepared for meetings. What impressed me most about Grace was the manner in which she interacted with my 84 year old mother who was part of the process. She treated her very kindly and with the upmost respect. Many thanks! Mark

The apartment was not ready for 15 days after my original move in day. They told me 1 week before moving in. The day we went to sign all the papers and move in, the office was understaffed. My wife and I were shocked by how dirty and dusty the apartment was. The ceramic floors had construction dust and dirt that was so caked on we had to scrub the floors for 2 days with brushes and tooth brushes in the cracks to make them half decent. The carpet looked like it was vacuumed, but after vacuuming it ourselves, the bin on our Shark Rotator filled several times in our 1 bedroom unit. They give you a paper at move in to notate all the scratches and dents that you see in the place that has to be returned to them promptly. My wife and I needed another piece of paper just to fit everything we noticed. They convinced us before moving in the walls and windows were soundproof...they're not. The parking is absolutely terrible. The garages do not fit large SUV's or pickup trucks. The management expects you to park your vehicles in your garage and/or just outside of it. There are not enough parking spots remaining to accommodate buildings 49 and 50 residents. Good luck having guests over. There's a clubhouse in building 49 with another office, small gym and racquetball court. Just outside of that, there is a tennis and basketball court. During the summer, there can be up to 15 cars with 30 people playing basketball, all of them non residents. They play pick-up basketball games until the sun goes down, and sometimes even later. So many residents have complained to the office and they do nothing. They leave trash, smoke weed, urinate behind the dumpster, and park in every spot and all along the street with no regard for any of the residents. It's not a welcoming site to come home to after work. And just a few days ago, the management put signs in half the parking spots claiming them for the clubhouse. Things could have been very different, even pretty good, but the management in the office is horrendous. Maintenance staff is decent. But there really aren't too many other good things to say about this place. If I was someone looking for an apartment and considering the new buildings being built, or even the original buildings, I would try to address all these concerns with the office before moving in. Get them on paper, because that's the only thing on your side.

While we are glad to hear you had good experiences with our maintenance team, we're deeply saddened to hear the rest of your stay has not been as satisfactory. We hold our team to a high standard of excellence, so we are sorry for the delay in getting your home ready, as well as the condition it was in. Your frustrations regarding this and the upkeep of our community are understandable. We encourage residents to come to us with any of their questions or concerns so that we can address them as promptly and as thoroughly as we can. While we know your opinion of us is not high at this time, we invite you to please visit us in the office at your earliest convenience so that we can discuss these issues and any other problem areas you've encountered. Thank you and we look forward to meeting with you soon.
I have always owned a home! I had to move from my home for my job. I'm completely new to Sterling Heights. I love my apartment and I actually have considered staying in the preserves longer. I have enjoyed living here and the freedom of not cutting grass. I'm a single woman and I feel completely safe. The property is clean and the neighbors are very friendly. I had a service call for a minor issue and it was taken care of the next day. Heather, the office leasing agent was great to me. I told her I was new to the area and she explained how to get places. Heather was very friendly and she always answers my emails. I was nervous about moving to an apartment and a new area. I felt confident with my decision after spending time looking at the property and units with Heather..Ask for Heather if you want to rent!!!! Great place to live and wonderful neighbors!
Renter's beware and read your contract fully......this place does not tell you that you can't break the lease in the event of a major life event! Consider all others before spending your hard earned money at this location!!
Loved my time here. Lived here for over two years. Preparing to move for work. Everything is straightforward. The complex is beautiful, and maintenance is super fast. Leasing Staff: Michele (one 'l'), Pauline, and Judy are on top of things. If you e-mail them, they'll respond the same business day. Maintenance: They'll schedule a time to come. They will work with you if you have a pet. They're more professional than most cable contractors I've dealt with! Brian and Kas will even put on little "booties" over their shoes to keep your carpet clean. If they can't fix it, they call in a professional contractor. I've been pleased with my time here, and am confident that the move-out process will be just as smooth!
