In many ways, Arlington’s Clarendon/Courthouse neighborhood leads a double life. On the one hand, the mix of upscale single-family homes and swanky apartments combined with the super-convenient access to Washington (just a mile away and served by multiple Metro stops) make this an ideal location for DC-area commuters seeking a more suburban home environment. The abundance of parks and playgrounds reflects the family-friendly nature of the community, and the local public schools are among the best in the region. Parts of the neighborhood also contain several corporate high-rises, giving many folks the option of walking to work.
However, Clarendon/Courthouse also has a lively, fun side. The neighborhood is generally known as the nightlife capital of Arlington – the robust bar and club scene along Clarendon Avenue attracts partiers from across the DC area on weekends.

Property Ratings at The Prime at Arlington Courthouse
Honestly, the construction itself is tolerable. It goes on for an hour or two at a time, and most of the time, unless it's right above you, it's very easy to ignore. That being said ,DO NOT live on the plaza level or 1st floor. That is right next to the gym where a bunch of men will drop 50 pound weights all throughout the day that will echo and shake your apartment. There are signs posted, but are by no means enforced. Additionally, there are no enforced quite hours. If you have a neighbor playing loud music or being disruptive, the only thing you can do is call the Arlington police. Overall, the building itself is fine, the management is friendly but because of that there is no enforcement of any rules. People without parking passes in handicap spots don't get towed, disruptive neighbors get a free pass, the recycling is always over flowing etc.. It's the wild west in the prime with little concern for anyone else's space or time.
Noise problems, constant construction. No rest during weekdays if you don't work a 9-5
I would only suggest someone live here if they enjoy constant noise and having to apologize on calls for all the loud banging that their coworkers can hear. Renovations were endless when I lived here with no concession offered to residents who had no idea what they were signing up for when they signed their lease.
The whole leasing office, front desk, everyone left at the same time. The reason, CONSTRUCTION- every time someone moves out, they renovate the apartment creating so much noise. This goes on all day long. This will literally take years to finish. The leasing office left their smile at the front door. Very very horrible place to live.
There is constant construction in this building. They are renovating each unit as people move out. With 400+ units in the building, this will take years. If you work from home or enjoy quiet between the hours of 9am and 5pm then do not live here!
The Prime is constantly working on roofing, façade, and patio projects outside the building, or carpet, tiling, and painting projects within. Over the past year I have worked from home, I have only had a few days to join meetings without having to apologize for the drilling, hammering, and other noises. On my first day here, I woke up to workers shoveling rocks, which I have now realized is something I should be expecting at any point throughout the week. The only effort the management team has done to respond back to the resident's complaints is provide free ear plugs.
Bug infested apartment that management denies even though I have sent multiple pictures, which they've done nothing about. Terrible management and poor constructions. Cabinets break all the time, I've had my fridge replaced twice and it still makes noise because they simply swap out other broken appliances. Overall horrible horrible "community".
I have only lived here for 2 weeks and I'm really impressed. I cannot be more conveniently situated from the Court House Metro, I have Wholefoods just around the corner, beautiful views of D.C, the concierge welcomes me like I'm family and the resident dogs are genuinely cute and well behaved. I'm paying a little more than I originally budgeted for and its well worth the extra cash. I would recommend for a friend to come live here any day.
