In a tiny home in College Park, Jack Kerouac wrote one of his classic novels, The Dharma Bums. The year was 1957, and his most famous work, On the Road, was about to be published. The tiny, unassuming house is just one surprising treasure you'll discover in College Park, a neighborhood with street names like Yale and Harvard. Since it served as home to a man many believed began the Beat generation, College Park has a reputation for being hip and trendy.
Located on the northwest side of Downtown Orlando, College Park contains a variety of parks, walking paths, and lakes, including Lake Estelle. It is also home to the Orlando Science Center, the Orlando Museum of Art, and the famous Dubsdread Golf Course. This golf course, established in 1924, has hosted golfing legends like Sam Snead and Tiger Woods. Along with its brick-lined streets and jaunty bungalows, you'll find a wide selection of shops and restaurants.

Property Ratings at The Princeton at College Park
Thes best thing about this apartment is obviously the location. Publix is right there, all the food and shops are right there. One direct road to I4, easy to get downtown or up North depending on where you work. The shared facilities are good. Well equipped gym. Pool area is okay, but all of the seating is clearly picked because it looks cool - pretty uncomfortable. The garage is a madhouse. People whip around blind corners at high speeds. Plus, they must've used chalk to paint the lines for parking spots. Seriously, the lines are basically invisible and people park crooked as hell on the first few stories. The units are nice - no real complaints. Good appliances, etc. They fee you on stuff here. I pay: -$25 a month for trash valet, which sometimes doesn't even grab my bags (Not heavy or a holiday, so confusing?) about 10% of the time. They only take one broken down box at a time - if you don't break down a box, or put out multiple boxes, tough luck. ~$3.50 trash valet... admin fee? Why not just charge me $28.50 for trash valet? Feels like a bit of a rip off. ~$1 "convenience fee" to pay online each payment ~$2 pest control fee monthly. I did have a brief issue with pests, but they resolved it. Not sure why I'm still being charged. For comparisons sake, for a 1 bed, I pay about $45 a month in electricity and $20 in sewage/garbage.

My apartment is amazing! The one and only negative is that It is located on the far East end of the building and my walk to the parking garage is SUPER LONG! It took me about a week to get used to the long walk and now I don’t even notice. Being on the third floor at the end of the building means I don’t have neighbors on any side, or above. It is really quiet and the views are amazing with the wrap around balcony and windows on all sides. Coming home to this apartment is like coming home to a house! It has 12ft ceilings and the views of the neighborhood treetops make it feel like home! It is conveniently located within walking distance to all of the College Park restaurants as well as quick access to I-4, downtown and Winter Park. The staff is great, super friendly and always helpful answering questions. I really couldn’t have asked for more from an apartment. With all of the windows, I was concerned about the electric bill. With my AC set at 75 degrees all summer, my bill has never even reached $90/month. I was worried about road noise but the double pane windows really help. The only time I hear cars driving by is when I don’t have the tv or music playing. Even then, it is like background ‘white noise’ and actually helps me sleep better.
