The Blue Hills Reservation takes up much of West Quincy. This 6,000-acre state park is one of the Boston area’s largest parcels of undeveloped land, culminating in its highest point, Great Blue Hill. Enjoy panoramic views from this vantage point and visit the historic Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, founded by meteorologist and MIT grad, Abbott Lawrence Rotch in 1885. It is still active and is open to the public on weekends.
The north end of West Quincy is a wooded, attractive neighborhood with ample sidewalks that residents use for evening strolls or walking their dogs. The neighborhood provides ample mass transit and the Quincy Center subway station is only a mile or so to the east, making commuting throughout the Boston area a breeze.
While West Quincy is largely residential, you’ll find several shops and restaurants along Willard Street, as well as a few local favorites along Adams Street. Be sure to visit Brick & Beam, a rustic tavern, and Dairy Freeze for ice cream.

Property Ratings at The Q
Property management team is pretty much nonexistent.
Parking here is HORRIBLE. They do not have enough spots for residents, even including va gave spots. If you get home after 6 pm you’ll be parking on the street and praying you don’t get towed…. Because they will randomly do that. Recent changes in management staff at the beginning of the year is a huge downgrade now. They don’t talk to resident who walk by, are very unhelpful and unresponsive to real issues, yet if you’re a day late on they make sure to notify you every way possible, including a letter on your door. This place is basically a grown up frat house, constant noise everywhere especially if you’re on the first floor…. Good luck escaping the lobby noise.
The parking is horrendous, management does absolutely nothing to help. They keep the building at 100% capacity (which is over capacity). Don’t get sucked into their lease.
Highly advise not signing a lease here. There is not enough parking for residents and you can forget having guests, there is no where for them to park either and if they come for dinner, they’ll get their car towed! It’s advertised as pet friendly, but there are no spaces to take your dog other then the small areas in the parking lot, which are frequently sprayed with pesticides that are harmful to pets and kids. Although the apartment looks nice when you move in, you’ll quickly find how cheaply it was made. When you open cabinets, the doors hit the light switches and turn your lights off and there are no lights in the bedrooms. You can expect management to be essentially useless and for them to enter your apartment without permission on numerous occasions.
I love my apartment, quiet and spacious. The thing I hate about living here is the parking situation. There is more units than there are parking spaces (surfaced and garage). Rent is wayyy too high to have to park 10 minutes away. Location is only good if you need to access highway, even then still far away from Boston exits. No public transport near. Rent too high to stress about where to park/if I leave my apartment in fear if I lose my spot. They are towing non-residents but they are not the problem, THERE IS NO PARKING FOR ALL RESIDENTS (including paid garage)
