Property Ratings at The Quarters
Save yourself some hassle and don't move here! The office staff are completely incompetent. No one returns phone calls, the number always goes directly to voicemail. The apartments are way over priced. You'll have an exterminator at your house every month because they have a serious roach problem. I moved out over two months ago and every time I call about receiving my security deposit back, no one returns my phone calls and they are very shady about the whole thing. It can be hard to find places to rent around The Villages as a young professional but take my word, find a different complex!
Do not move into this place! Very disrespectful office staff, I stay to myself and always pay my rent on time so when I read the reviews about the Terrible office staff I didn't think I would have to deal with them. But unfortunately I've had to deal with them and I wish I could get out of my lease already!
I lived at The Quarters for 2 years and hated it...couldn't wait to move out! When you first visit the property, the clubhouse is beautiful and they show you a model that is gorgeous! However, once you get up close and you actually live there, you find that it is much different! The hallways and stairs are always dirty and stained, lighting in the outside area is poor (took three months for a lightbulb outside of my apartment to be fixed), my balcony had a loose railing that I had to fix myself because they never did. There were wasp nests on my balcony that I reported multiple times, but nothing was ever done, even to the day that I moved out. I rarely used my balcony because I didn't want to risk being stung. Reporting anything does no good because it's never fixed and if it does actually get fixed, it's not in a timely manner. I received a phone call one day that my locks had to be changed shortly after I moved in, I said that was fine but that I needed a copy of the key when I got off work and told them the time that I would be by. I sat and waited for my key and called 5 different times for 5 HOURS! I just had to wait, then by the time that the guy finally showed up, he offered no apology or explanation for making me wait that long. This apartment complex forces you to use Broadstar for the cable and internet but it's the worst company I ever had to deal with and spent many nights on the phone arguing with the company about why I didn't have internet service - but when you brought it up to the complex, they just said they knew and couldn't do anything about it. They sell you also on having the largest pool outside of the Villages, but what they fail to tell you is the few chairs they do have are broken or about to break, the pool is always filled with grease and hair and is always disgusting. The gym is far beyond repair and even has holes in the wall and basketball hoops are barely hanging on. The bathroom in the gym smells like a dirty sweat sock and their response? Well, she wipes down in there every week - there is a difference between wiping down and actually cleaning and they don't do the actual cleaning! They take prospective tenants on tours and I just want to scream at them not to rent at this place! Rent is so high and they raise it every year! They try to be luxury but don't even come close! I couldn't have been happier to say good riddance to that place!!
MY DOG WAS KILLED BY ANOTHER TENANT'S DANGEROUS DOG. NOT SAFE FOR KIDS OR PETS! The first weekend of Sept., my dog was killed in the parking lot here by another tenant's dog. The other tenant's dog leapt from his open, parked truck, ran across the lot, and sunk it's teeth into my 35-lb rat terrier mix and wouldn't let go. I tried to separate them, but I couldn't. It was bloody, violent, and traumatic. As my dog lay bleeding in the parking lot, I could hear some of the gathered crowd saying they could see her organs hanging out of her wounds. It was a nightmare. My dog was always leashed and under my control. Because of another tenant's dangerous dog, I lost my sweet, gentle pet. And it could just as easily have been a small child who lost its life that afternoon. The other tenant moved out. I am still trying to recover the cost of my vet bills (even though I don't even have my dog anymore), my own medical bills and a week's worth of lost wages because of the trauma of the incident. My neighbors were very kind and thoughtful. The Quarters, however, never acknowledged my loss, and never expressed any kind of concern over the incident. I've been living here for nearly 2 years and used to really enjoy the friendliness of the staff here, but I sure haven't seen much of them over the past month and a half. I guess the most important thing is this: THEY RENT TO TENANTS WITH DANGEROUS DOGS. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN OR PETS AND ARE CONSIDERING RENTING HERE. I don't want to see this happen to anyone else.
This is a filthy apartment complex!! The aileways are gross with everything from bugs to indescribable junk. Reporting a problem? That's a joke! Nothing is done to the tenants whose children who just throw their trash in the bushes. They will take you to a "model" but ask to see another building!! Then you'll see what it's really like!!!!
The Quarters Apartment is a wonderful place to live. The apartments are beautiful. They have a great pool, and exercise room. If you love basketball there is an indoor court which is air conditioned. They also have an area where you can wash & vacuum your car.
I have lived at The Quarters for 3 years. The Quarters is a wonderful place to live.
My family has lived here for 2.5 years now and I am so frustrated with this place. Minor problems include: Poor landscaping choices; They have high shrubs and bushes at every location where you would need to visualize crossing traffic. Disrespectful pet owners/no staff response; There is feces in all of the grassy areas making it dangerous and disgusting for children to play. Major problems are: 1. The apartments are very poorly insulated. The electric from heating and cooling is high and you WILL hear everything your neighbors do/say. If they're nice, respectful people that will just mean you hear their tv noise and their toilets flushing. If they're nasty people, you will hear fighting, banging, cabinets slamming and all sorts of other noise. We've had 3 different sets of tenants above us since moving here in 2013 and they have all been the latter. 2. The Cable & Internet Provider: This community has only 1 cable and internet provider and they are terrible. You pay more than you would for services at a legitimate able provider and the equipment is out of date and the service is out as much as it is on. Every summer when it starts to get hot the TV signal starts to drop out, get garbled and completely disappear. This is due to old/faulty equipment that can't handle the florida heat. Every year they promise they've fixed it, but they lie. The internet is even more infuriating. We are currently paying for 50 Mb/s. We literally never get that. They only bring in 200 Mb/s for the whole community, so it's impossible for them to actually deliver on the speed they're promising people. I just ran a speed test and we're getting around 2 with lots of jitter in the line. Don't believe the office staff when they say the problem is being fixed. When we first moved in the agent who leased us our apartment told us that they'd had some issues with the cable provider in the past but it's been worked on. When we came in to talk about our second lease, I was seriously considering moving because of the cable/internet issues, but the same agent again told us that they had taken action with the provider and they "probably wouldn't even be an issue by the time our lease takes effect." One more year later, here we are again, the office staff continues to say that very soon we will have a new cable and internet provider, but I certainly wouldn't believe them. It's the company line and it will never change.
