The Ralston

As one of Georgia’s largest cities, Columbus combines southern charm with thoroughly modern urban personality. The downtown district sits on the western edge of the city, along the Chattahoochee River; this is where you’ll find some of the city’s best-preserved examples of historic architecture, housing a world-class selection of restaurants and an impressive array of performing arts venues. The Columbus Civic Center is home to the city’s minor league football and ice hockey teams, and regularly attracts major national touring acts as well.

Columbus has a heavy population of armed service members and civilian military employees thanks to the close proximity to Fort Moore, one of the nation’s largest military installations and home to the U.S. Army’s Infantry School. The city is also home to several small to mid-sized college campuses, with the attending student bodies and faculty adding significant intellectual capital to the community.
