Property Ratings at The Ravines at Westar
AWFUL management who forgot “customer” in customer service. Awesome maintenance crew. Would not recommend to others. Too expensive for what you get. Security gate left open continuously at night.
Their customer service is terrible. We moved on bad terms and they were very spiteful. They threw away our cable equipment. My husband forgot it and we called less than 2 days after we moved and "they couldn't find it". They literally tried to charge us for any and everything that they can!! What land lord doesn't automatically clean/change carpet in between tenant's?? They charged us $1,000 for carpeting!!! They charged us for stains on the blind!! like are you serious???? Do yourselves a favor and just say no!!! There are plenty of beautiful living spaces in this area, I promise this one isn't worth the headache!!
Elizabeth and her staff are so rude. Daily there are letters on your door which are written with such passive aggressiveness. If you are late on your water bill they send you an eviction notice but not a friendly reminder. When you call, there is no empathy or solution oriented conversations with Elizabeth and her staff seems to be inadequately trained because they have to go ask Elizabeth for everything. They lost my rent payment and sent an eviction notice and it was just a very awful experience dealing with any issue in that office. The property is nice but I will not be renewing my lease unless the management changes. The walls are super thin, the buildings are cheaply designed and dated. The dumpster is a half a mile away. It’s just not a easy place to live… there is always something. DO NOT MOVE HERE… you will regret it.
The property management is terrible! I submitted a maintenance ticket and after two days water is still dripping on my bed and desk and doesnt let me sleep and nobody takes any useful actions. The maintenance guys came to my apartment two times and didnt do anything but saying we don't have ladder, it's dark, we dont have a contractor, etc!!! The property manager desnt care either! Dont waste your money!

I thought these people wore their heart on the chest. Sadly for me, they didn't. We drove 45 minutes, to and from, just because we were guaranteed this unit. Truly horrible to see such a great area get infested by immoral actions.
Their representative lied directly on the phone that we secured an apartment after having visited the place . They were nice until we realized we wasted 3 hours of driving time to and from. We came back the following day to secure the place and sign after we guaranteed this unit in person and on the phone. Horrible communication and horrible waste of our time.
Nothing special, the location makes you feel safe as well as having easy access to highway, shops, supermarket and bike path. Don’t be fooled by how great they make the amenities and community events seem, you probably won’t find time to use them without paying more. Then when you do, much of the staff won’t make you feel welcome.
This place must be a 5 star community for sure. I would like to let you know of a great experience I had the other day related to your property. I don’t live at the Ravines of Westar, but work nearby and drive by it daily. The other day during the noon lunch hour, I was at the shopping complex adjacent to Westar, getting lunch at Fresh Thyme. As I walking around I kept running into a gentleman, going through the same aisle, waiting at the deli counter, etc. Each time this person was so courteous and polite as we continued to walk around. We both approached the checkout lane and again he said, “You go first”. I let him go and while he was checking out, he engaged in a nice conversation with the cashier. I overheard him say his name was Casey and he was the maintenance supervisor at the apartments next door, Westar. I then noticed he had on an Oakwood Management hat on and I thought, for the stuff he must deal with as a maintenance supervisor, he sure is pleasant and has a great attitude. I have seen him a few times, but didn’t realize he worked there. I thought to myself, what a great representation of the property brand and image to see someone on their lunch hour be so nice, happy and pleasant to interact with. I don’t live at The Ravines of Westar because I have a house, but if I ever needed an apartment, this community would be first on my list to consider because of the way it looks and the experience I just had with a member of their staff.
BEWARE! Do your Homework! Do NOT rent from the Ravines at Westar!!! This “company” (Oakwood Management -2 Star Consumer Rated) and their employees should be managing PENITENTIARIES not Residential Units. They make up terms to your lease and dictate as they go. They use intimidation, violate your Privacy, Intentionally Trespass on your property and remove at will w/NO Notice. Also, they use Rookie Attorneys (Willis Law Firm) who threaten you with unlawful means. Won my case against these Criminals. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Contact me if you need help!
