Property Ratings at Regatta
Thursday August 22 update- AC issue still not resolved. Told by manager Terry that they don’t know what’s wrong with my AC and to wait until Miguel gets back on Monday so he can look at it. This apartment complex is a joke! My AC has not been working on and off for a month now and maintenance can’t seem to figure out the issue. The just put bandaids on things that need surgery. I have been here 5 years and it just gets worse and worse. Don’t be fooled by their new paint job that this is a nice place to move to. And if something happens in the middle of the night and it’s considered an emergency don’t expect the on call maintenance to do anything about it. You be told “It’s 6am in the morning we will be there when we open at 9” meanwhile it’s 80degrees in my apartment and AC is not cooling. Also don’t expect to get phone calls back from the manager when you call the office three times asking to speak to her. She won’t return your calls. I can call 15 times in one day and no one answers. They keep the ringer off in the office so maybe that’s why they don’t answer. If you move here also expect the trash compactor to be broken often and the dumpsters to be overflowing with nasty trash with maggots and wild animals having a feast. These are just a few of the ongoing issues here at the Regetto. In the last 5 years I’ve also have had sewer come up through my tub and toilet and all over my apartment floor. Do yourself a favor and don’t move here!
Cockroaches, fleas and dog poop. Cottonwood is absolutely a money grubbing disgusting management company. Lived here not even a month and I don’t think I have had a restful night sleep. I woke up constantly to check for cockroaches. I live my lights on around the house to deter them from coming out so much. I have sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. I can’t wait to have this nightmare over.
Property Manager at Regatta, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking your time to bring this to our attention. We are sorry to hear about your experience during your time here with us. If you have not yet submitted a maintenance request through our resident portal, please do so and we will send a fumigator to address the cockroaches. We would like to evaluate and resolve this issue as soon as possible. If you have a moment, please reach out to us directly or stop by our office to speak to our property manager. Thank you.
This is the worst place I have ever lived. I lived there 90 days and have the boiler go down 5 times. It took 3 calls to maintenance to get someone out to fix the dishwasher and then when they found it was unfixable they did not order a new one until we requested. There was roaches in the kitchen. The toliet and tub were stained and the stains were not removable with bleach. This complex is severely outdated, it needs a facelift and a good cleaning. When I submitted my notice to leave, I called and confirmed it was for X date and was told yes by 2 people that it was correct and would be entered into the system. That was a lie and I got charged 3 extra days due to that.
We will be renewing at our complex, the maintenance staff is always on top of their work. Office staff is friendly and the community overall is very peaceful.
Property Manager at Regatta, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your wonderful review highlighting our staff and maintenance team. Your feedback is valued and we look forward to continuing your stay with 5-star service!
I have lived at the Regatta for 5 years, It is a great place to live! Customer service oriented, enjoyed the community events.
Lived here for less than three months, have had SEVER rain leaks with no help from management or maintenance. Hidden prior water damage to the apartment FROM HARVEY THAT WAS NEVER FIXED, hot water issues, electrical issues, trash and animal waste issues and general problems all around with the property management. Documented and sent videos and pictures directly to management, no response. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED, unless you want to pay to live in an apartment where management pays no attention to its residents. Good luck!
This is the worst property I have ever lived at. The have poor drainage in all 3 sections. The section between the Chevron & tennis courts doesn't flood but it's worse. One building shifted so badly the wall & floor separated. The family that lived there was forced to give a 60 day notice even though they were month to month lease. The health issue comes from the black mold in the ventilation system. Look inside the vents to see all that mold. The mold is in at least two sections of complexes that is part of Regatta. I had to take my vents down to bleach them to remove mold but I've never been able to get rid of the mold. The office will do nothing to fix it but have maintenance come in to spray a white substance that only kills the black mold close to the outside of the ventilation system. After the ice storm the office didn't check to see what laundry rims were in bad shape. Some were so dirty dog poop was floating in water. Oh and the trash has become a really big issue. The trash compactor is broken. Instead of calling their waste management company to come pick up trash they let it just build up. They move most of it towards the trash compactor which is a huge health issue but at least the raccoons & opossums eat well. They didn't even notify residents about this issue until 5 days went by. It has been over 3 weeks & they still don't know when the compactor will be fixed. The office ladies are useless especially the new manager who is a clueless person, Terri. She & her staff sure will hand out eviction notices promptly but they can't bother to respond to calls about black mold or the garbage issue. They make plenty of money but can't be bothered to do simple cleaning that prevents residents from getting sick & not creating health hazards for us.
Do you like cold showers? Do you like high electricity bills? Do you like living with drug dealers? Well this is the place for you then. The water heater has needed to be replaced for some time. Colds showers and rusty water are the norm here. The a/c runs all the time. It can't keep up. The doors and windows leak tons of air. When you ask the wonderful management to seal them they tell you there is nothing they can do. Crime is out of control at this complex. They must give drug dealers a discount because lots of them live here. You will see drug deals go down. Management again says there is nothing they can do. You will have your car broken into here maybe even stolen. Parking is a serious issue here as well. You need to get home by 5 if you want a spot. Otherwise you will have to park far from your apartment which is not safe at this complex. All the gates are broken here. None of them stay locked which means lots of people come and go as they please. Which also means lots of people that do not live here use the pool on a regular basis. Got to love paying for pools you can't use. Management will tell you it's first come first serve and do not care if the people live there or not. Rent is due on the 3rd. There are no drop boxes so you have to turn it in during business hours. If you work late or are on vacation you better figure it out because on the 4th it's a 50.00 dollar late fee and 10 everyday after that. Last summer the electicity went out. Center Point comes out to investigate. Find its the apartments transformer that blew out. The Center Point guy tells me the transformer has never been serviced and probably should have been replaced. It takes the complex a week to repair this. It's the middle of summer and super hot. We had to get a hotel for a week. As we have pets and could not stay in the apartment. They did not pay for the hotel, did not pay for the spoiled groceries and did not take 1 dollar off the rent! These people are scum! I would not be surprised if all the theft was a inside job. Do not plan on getting you deposit back either. In fact don't be surprised if they bill you. I have a review on Yelp if you want to see pictures.
love my apt. the magmt is excellent ready to help take good care of their tenants
I have lived here for 4 years. There are pros and cons. Pro:washer and dryer in unit, courtesy officer after hours, gym and club house. Cons:noisy in complex by NASA road and office,Older apts with plumbing issues, and foundation problems. Overall I think they are good for ur money when the rate is reasonable. Washer and dryer is a plus since alot of 1 bed rooms don't have them.
When life throws you an unexpected curve ball. The office really work with you on the payment of your rent. Things happen and It's nice to know that they care.
We have a two bedroom apartment, when we moved in there were the little roaches in our apartment. The complex had our apartment sprayed weekly but no change, I then bought radix from kroger and bombed my apartment twice. We don't have the roach problem anymore but I have heard others in the complex complain about the same problem. For some reason apartment pesticides don't work well but do it on our own and that should solve the problem. The office is really good about keeping up with requests.
These apartments are really old the management is really horrible now…. I have been living here for more than 8 years and this will be my last lease extension…. Under Unique features they mention “24-Hour maintenance response “it used to be true NOT anymore it’s over a week NOW. If you don’t have hot water coming or A/C unit not working. They just give you a run around and really don’t do anything. Water is always been an issue there a leaks all-around the apartments. Apart from the maintenance issues a lot of raccoons, snakes and rats. Once I had found a dead rat outside my apartment when leaving for work right in front of my door so I called the office to take care of the issue and I had called twice to make sure they get this done… 10 hours later when I returned home, the rat was still there and the office was closed…. Honestly the living conditions are so bad that the saving is just not worth it!
I have been here for going on 5 years and I love it. Everyone is so nice. I love that there is no thru traffic too!
I have been living here for more than 8 years and this place has become bad to worse… I have seen raccoons – snakes - and dead mouse in front of my door. The hot water is always an issue… the AC has mould in it….. 8 years ago one call would do the magic but now there were days and weeks that we had to stay without hot/warm water with the child and in reality every time I would call them they will give me a run around and be like the whole building is out of water and when I asked people live right next to me had no water problems….. The dead mouse was right in front of my apartment when I was leaving for work in the morning I called in and told them to take care of this immediately…. I called after 2 hours to follow up and was told they are going to do it. But when I returned from work that mouse was sitting there with foul smell and the office was closed. However I have seen these apartments in best of conditions…. But now they have the worst management. This was the last time I renewed my lease. I would not recommend anyone to move in here.
Stuff just keeps breaking and the foundation isn't level anymore, so there are a lot of 'cosmetic' problems like paint peeling off the walls and cracks. The pipe problems are surely due to the age of the complex, as are the leaks and the window in our dining room being inexplicably sealed shut. The doors stick when it rains. The grass is mostly gone except in the front of the property. On the other hand, they are very considerate of your privacy and let you do mostly whatever you want, as long as you don't bother anyone else. They only come into your apartment if you give them permission, and everyone is friendly and polite. Parking is a bit limited, but that's to be expected also.
It's awful customer service. Everything is falling apart
My husband and I have been at the Regatta for 3 1/2 years. We love it! They keep the outside clean and neat, we have a spacious 2 bedroom apartment and the rent is reasonable. The management is friendly and they always have fresh baked cookies and coffee ready for their tenants. The only negative I can say it's the water pressure is very low and if you need anything fixed they may take a while to get to you because the complex is big.
The Regatta is the best location in Houston area. Next to Nasa and a mile from Galveston Bay. Nice shopping and resturants within walking distance. Very nice community. Next, is management. The most beautiful, freindly, and very helpful team of people imaginable. They are very helpful about eveything you need, even if it is not related to living at the Regatta. The courtyard, swimming pool, cafe, gym , tennis court , dog park and childrens park very clean and maintained. The best maintenance team I have ever delt with. They are very proffesional and helpful. They also want you to feel at home. The whole management and Maintenance team make you feel special and they make you feel that you own the whole property and that they work soley for you. The neighbors are all happy and freindley. By far the best place I have lived at in years. Finally, the best price for all you get with living at the Regatta. You will never look for another place to live once you experience all that my family has expierenced.
Two gorgeous pools, 24/7 gym, computer center, and security fences. Sounds great, yes? For the most part, it is. However, these apartments were built in the 60's and many have foundation problems. Other problems, such as water pipes breaking, occur fairly often. The maintenance men do bare minimum. If they had better maintenance, this place would be 4-5 stars.
The Regatta is in a great location. Close to stores, gas stations, and restaurants. They offer great rates on rent. Maintenance is quick to respond when you have an issue as well. Definitely not luxury apartments though, but pretty decent for the price.
I've lived here for 1 year and 1/2 it's comfortable nice neighbours are pleasant clean enirvonment
There all about the extra penny they can take u from with extra charges that your not responsible for. Money hungry. There rude and inconsiderate to the fullest extent. They could care less about you, they just want your money. We have spiders roaches beetles. Wasp are everywhere, along with there nests. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone mainly because of the management. And the quality of the apartments is not worth your money. Hope this can help.
I looked at at least 5 other apartment complexes in the area that posted similar prices. This was definitely the best value in my price range. One of the pools was recently renovated and the apartments are roomy for the price. As some others have noted, I did experience roaches, but after the exterminator visited, I haven't had a problem. I have called several times with maintenance issues and each time they have been able to fix the problem quickly. I figure if i'm renting, I'm paying for the convenience of having the problems fixed, so I call frequently. It's perfect for me while I save for a house -- I wanted to find the most affordable place I could so I could save up.
These apartments are old. They are due for a complete overhaul. Personally, I would bulldoze them down and build new ones. The windows do not seal completely, so you have air and noise coming in and out, bad for your electricity bill on those hot days of summer. The bathrooms don't have ventilation, so they get mold very easy and when you call for them to do something about it, they just paint over it. All the cabinets are falling apart. The countertops are just painted white. The A/C units must be old, because in a year here it stopped working several times. COCKROACHES everywhere. My first contact was on my second day here, my apartment was still empty and nothing for a cockroach to be munching on and I see this huge cockroach running around on the hallway. Ever since that, we have to request the exterminator every other week and we still see them every now and then That's mostly because of the windows that don't seal completely.
