Property Ratings at The Reserve
I love my apartment and enjoy the view of the mountains. The grounds outside are always improving and after living here for a year I did sign up for another year. It is very quiet here and I feel safe.

I have only been here a week, but so far, everything is good. I'm lucky that my neighbors are relatively quiet, except for the 3rd floor resident who walks very loudly, especially in the early hours of the morning, Some residents are more thoughtful than others. Byron is an extremely helpful and friendly guy in the front office. He's attentive and is always ready to help. He made the move smooth and easy for me. I love that this is a non-smoking community, although I did smell someone smoking close to the apartment when I moved in, but I haven't smelled anything since.

Great floor plan. Large rooms. Plenty of storage. Unclean entryway. No sound proofing between apartments floors.

Hello - we regret to hear your experience with us wasn't more positive. I know you and I have spoke regarding your review. Thank you! The Reserve Team
I've had the best living experience here at Camenon! Whenever something needs fixing, they get it done in just one day—never longer. The community is friendly, clean, and quiet. They go above and beyond with communication, not only sending an email notice but also putting a printed notice on my door to keep me informed. It's truly the perfect place to live!

I like living in The Reserve very much. The gardens, the plants, the environment in general is superb! My view is just awesome! The place is quiet and well maintained, in general. I feel at home.

I think that it is a nice quiet place to live until you have to deal with maintenance. The reserve does not fix anything within a week of the service request, and it could take them longer than a month depending on what it is that you need fixed.

Very Quiet apartment complex A little bit outdated but otherwise it's better where I was living before I'm sure maintenance and management keep working on doing the best to keep this apartment complex up due date.

I've had problems with a refrigerator and now the A/C, but both were resolved. There has been improvement keeping the laundry rooms and mail room clean and waste disposed of timely. I've been here 24 years and have seen many management and maintenance teams come and go. I must give an applause to the current "greeter" at the front desk. Byron has seen to it that requests are tended to promptly; he is professional and helpful. I believe it is a first that when he says he will return a call or ensure maintenance is done, it is trustworthy. Thank you...

I recently moved out of The Reserve apartments, and I’m now here to give my unbiased opinion. I moved to The Reserve apartment after being honorably discharged from the United States Navy. I have since lived there for a total of 8 years, and now have moved to another apartment complex. Like most guys, all I care about is my property, and safety while I sleep. Since 2016, the management/owners have been letting it slowly deteriorate. The main gate is always broken, and the management says that it can’t be fixed because “you guys always break it!”. They also have no respect nor care for military/EMS personnel, as they showed me(I've done 4 years in the Navy, and 8 as a paramedic). My CBR500 motorcycle was stolen twice and the second time I had three locks on the bike. In the end, I was forced to leave the apartment complex because management didn’t want to put any effort into the upkeep and security of the complex. I wouldn’t recommend living there, or anywhere near Central Avenue, due to the growing homeless population. Move more north of the city where there are better apartments, better management, and less of a homeless population.

This is a good apartment complex, safe and quiet. My only problem is with the service requests, it takes them an ungodly amount of time to fix anything in my apartment.

Hi, it is disappointing for us to hear that your experience was anything less than great. There is no excuse but we have been short with maintenance techs. Can you call the office and please let me know what apartment home you are in and see if I can get you taken care of. Thank you! The Reserve Staff
Well, the apartment itself is fine. Maintenance communication is beyond poor. We were locked in the fitness room on a Sunday because of a faulty door latch. We contacted emergency maintenance and got zero follow-up. A neighbor let us out, luckily. Our 1st-floor apartment has been flooded 3 or 4 times (I've literally lost count) in our two years here. Even after pointing out twice that the first two flooding events happened because of a bad downspout and grading, nothing was done until my wife and I both spoke very pointedly with the staff. I have zero confidence that I will get any response from this review.
They never do maintenance, they never return your calls, they say they provide courtesy patrol but that does nothing, they tow your car for any reason they can find. On top of this they raised rent by almost $300 with the reasoning being they have more maintenance to cover, but that’s not true. They won’t fix a single thing, they just raised their prices to be greedy and cover the cost of their brand new renovated clubhouse where they work. They put in massive TVs, lovey furniture, and decided to put that cost on their tenants. They are also roach infested :)
When I first moved in my car was towed - despite the fact that I had reserved parking. I had to pay $200 to get my car back. You will get CONSTANT passive-aggressive texts AND emails about picking up dog-poop (because they can't control their residents), unsupervised children playing, and cars parked improperly (for which I never received a text before my own car was towed). Residents are completely varied. I lived above animal abusers who fought constantly and were just completely trashy. I feel as though I wasn't treated very differently from these people, even though I was a model neighbor -- quiet, neat, and didn't bother anyone. Cops have been called NUMEROUS times on residents because - again - some truly terrible people have lived here. One resident even kept setting off my car alarm because of their obnoxiously loud motorcycle. Live somewhere else. (Only upside, ever, was Jazzmen, but I don't think she works there anymore.)
On the evening of 10/15 a bullet entered my apartment through the kitchen window. This bullet went through my wall and ended up in my dining room. I can no longer comfortably sleep in this complex after the emotional trauma I experienced. The scary part is that the bullet was shot from another tenant at the complex who accidentally fired a shot through their window and into my apartment which is across the pool area. When presenting my concerns to management I was given two options. Option One - give a 30 day notice then pay the 1000 termination fee (which is no different then moving for any other reason). Option Two - Move to a different apartment at the same complex at the end of November when that unit becomes available. Neither option allows me to move immediately which is what I want to do since I am terrified of living here. I understand their contact covers situations like this so that they are not held legally responsible but I was hoping they would morally come to an agreement with me so that way I can leave the premises to somewhere where I don’t feel like my life is in danger. It is really saddening to see that they care more about their money then the safety and emotional well being of their tenants. The staff was made aware of the incident by the police on the morning of 10/15 but they never reached out to me to ensure if I was okay. After the police left I went downstairs to go talk to management but they closed an hour early on Saturday (even though they are only open from 10AM to 2PM on Saturdays) so I had to wait until Monday to talk to anyone about the incident. Monday morning I was told the manager was busy and wasn’t able to talk to her until the afternoon. After she told me their was nothing more she can do (besides the options mentioned above), I asked to talk to the regional manager in which I was told she would contact me on 10/19 but I never heard from her. It has been four days since the incident and I still have a hole in my wall from the bullet, there has been no effort to repair the damages to this point. I do not feel safe in this neighborhood nor does the management give me any comfort knowing they care for the safety and emotional well being of their tenants. I would’ve hoped the apartment management would’ve shown more sympathy to my situation given the severity of the incident but the lack of attention and caring that was given to the situation makes you realize this is not a safe environment to live in.
I spoke with Jasmine, she is very nice and answered quite a bit of my questions. She is very friendly and knowledgeable about the apartments and area where they are located. I am looking forward to meeting Donna for my appointment to take a walk-through of the kind of unit I want this weekend. I love their area, it seems very clean when I past by on the way to an appointment. What makes me very happy about this place, is the secure gated residents.
I've been happy overall with the location for most of the duration of living here. The apartment layout is fantastic & it's a good location with access to schools and shopping. Noise levels are good - my biggest annoyance is the nearby high school has a marching band that practices early in the morning during fall. Makes it hard to sleep in when I need the extra rest. The walls aren't thin - had a neighbor for a few months who played music very loudly but they stuck to the community quiet times so weren't a problem. The staff in the office are great right now, and though staff change from time to time and I've been happier with some than others, overall the staff have been good. My one big complaint is the new owners have decided they don't want the property to be responsible for packages anymore and the office no longer accepts them. The office taking packages was a major factor in my choice to live here, and since I just renewed my lease and taking packages is a "courtesy" instead of a "service" I'm stuck here for another year without something I rely on. No advance warning was given; package lockers are supposedly coming, but there's no ETA, no info available on how the lockers will work, and no provisions for the safety of our mail in the meantime. I'm not looking forward to finding out what other surprises the new owners have in store, especially since they've demonstrated a lack of willingness to grant advance warning for massive changes. All the good maintenance staff have left, leaving a mix of mediocre people and trainees. Maintenance requests are filled abysmally slowly as of spring 2021, and will get worse in summer, when the ancient air conditioners break constantly and maintenance must (rightly) focus on those first because it's a health hazard. There are 3gates to the property; the back gate is typically closed becuase the homeowner's association for that neighborhood there has an agreement with the property to only use it in emergencies/inclement weather/construction situations/etc., which doesn't bother me. The main gate works fine, but the other exit-only front gate has been closed for a while now, with no warning given and no explanation offered at any point then or since. Overall the property itself is nice, but after problems with the current property managemer's online resident portal not letting me log in and various problems with current operations, I'm sad to say I can't wholeheartedly recommend living here.
Staff is great until you move in, not even here a year and have had problems with AC, hot water heater, loud obnoxious neighbors, dog crap everyday outside apartment, ceiling leakage that runied my bedroom set..over a month to repair, not repaired correctly and 2nd leak even worse..Im getting out asap...dont move here!!!
Donna was very informative and so helpful to get me moved into my one bedroom. The apartment is very spacious and clean as well as the property.
When I first did the tour of the apartment it had friendly staff welcoming me and notice the great amenities and services. Nothing has changed since I been living there. The apartment locations still has a friendly staff and still great amenities and services. In addition it is well maintained. I would recommend living in this apartment location.
I've lived in this complex for 8 years now, in three different apartments on the property. The last two bedroom i am currently in was nasty, dirty and down right disappointing when i moved in. screw holes in the walls, AC vents not secured, the windows and sliding doors had condensation and water marks inside the pains of glass, the tub was painted and the paint was coming off, chipping and could be cleaned. they have changed hands/management since i first moved in and it shows. always unattended kids at the pools. the only plus, it has central air.
Prairie Hills Apartments is great! It's conveniently located off of Tramway Blvd, with great views of both the mountains and the valley! The complex has fun amenities such as tennis courts, a gym, and a pool. These amenities as well as the landscape is very well kept! I have had no problems with this apartment. The staff is very kind and responsive to maintenance and other requests. Highly recommended! Best apartment value in Northeast ABQ!
There really good management and the apartments are really clean they keep the area looking nice maintenance is always on top of things the only thing is that we are supposed to have security but I haven't seen any the whole summer and a few cars gave gotten broken into
I love my place it's quite and I feel save my kids enjoyed
Apartment has all the updates I could want and the cost is a great deal. The appliances are newer and the counters are in great shape. Having two pools, hot tub, and tennis courts gives me plenty of activity. The private balcony faves right towards the mountains too!
These apartments have it all. They are on the foothills of the mountains, with incredible views, and are within minutes of I-40. The staff is great and the grounds are always kept to perfection. The complex has two pools, a work out room, and is gated. You won't be able to find a better deal in the city.
Although these apartments are a bit old I have never had any issues with getting repairs done in a timely manner. The staff is outstanding! The property manager is one of the nicest individuals and she cares about her tenants! Great work Kira! Rent for what you get is very reasonable. Grounds are clean and quiet. The area is nice as well. If you're lucky like me a view of the mountains. Two nice pools ... And tennis courts.
I like quiet and peace. I get that and much more here. The views of the city are great. The mountains are next door, with many walking trails that take you into the foothills. The amenities are wonderful. The whole complex is extremely clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive to all your needs. Its pet friendly, my dog loves it here. It is in a crime free area and the security gate gives you more peace of mind. I love it here and would not rent anywhere else.
I have lived at the Prairie Hills Apartments for 1 year now. I can say that I have had very minimal complaints, if any. The staff in the office are always friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept. Maintenance workers are available pretty much any time, it seems like. I see them around the buildings daily. I have been lucky to not have many problems with my unit, which is rare when living in apartments. I use the laundry facilities that are available and have also not had any problems with them. I am a student and drive to the UNM campus every day. I love that I am so close to I-40, which makes for a pretty quick commute. I think my only complaint is that I'm not particularly fond of the apartments just north of Prairie Hills, and since my unit faces them, that's my daily view. I feel safe, I am happy with the lack of noisiness, and I like the location as well. It's definitely a place I recommend to family and friends.
I have lived here 4 years and I like it here. When something breaks maintenance is on top of it,The manager and staff are nice and helpful. The facilities are nice and clean, pool and Jacuzzi are a plus. We have one assigned parking space so parking could be a pain if u have more then one vehicle... limited parking at night! We have a courtesy patrol at night to keep the grounds safe. Overall nice apt!!
I gave this apartment complex 4 stars because the front desk is always very helpful and informative. They are open 7 days a week which makes it very convenient for people who work full time. The maintenance men get to my apartment in a timely matter and have been able to fix any problems I had. They did not get 5 stars because I have had quite a few things break in my apartment. And rent is a little costly every month.
