Lafayette is located in southern Louisiana. It has the rich culture you would expect from a Louisiana town. Also, because it is a college town, it is very much concerned with education. People of all ages, cultures, and personality types will find that Lafayette is a pleasant place to live.
Lafayette has many beautiful neighborhoods. Different people like different areas of the city for their own reasons. However, the south side of the city is typically the most sought after. The area surrounding the University of Louisiana – Lafayette is known as the university area. This area, as well as Lafayette’s Downtown District, is more urban in nature than other parts of Lafayette. It is possible to walk to the school, local restaurants, shops, and art galleries. Broadmore is mostly residential and home to people of many different ages. This is also where the Thomas Park Recreation Center is located. Broussard, Youngsville, and Scott are small cities on the outskirts of Lafayette.

Property Ratings at The Reserve At Couret Farms
I signed a one year lease. Lease renewal came up and rent was going up over $150 per month. They claim to be luxury apartments but are cheaply made with the lowest quality material and appliances. During my stay which was towards the end of my lease (a week to be exact) I received a lease violation without a warning nor given time to fix the issue was slammed with $250 fine. People are constantly moving in and out of the complex, which I feel is due to poor staff, high and constantly rising prices. Also when the lease was signed we were told we could rent out the club house but then was denied access when we tried to have our child’s birthday party. They stated the club house could not be rented for private parties.
Ive had a horrible experience living in this overrated place. First, the place is not pet friendly. Had the resident "officer" harrass me twice about a small dog barking and said it couldnt be on the balcony, which is no where in the handbook. Ultimately brought the issue to management's attention. Shortly after, get notice of wanting to terminate my lease for "late payments" which I paid whatever fees from any late payment per leasing agreement. Had a personal issue for 2 months but paid each month. Property manager basically requested that I move out that DAY. I was moving anyways but my lease wasnt up for almost 3 months!!! Also, tenants move downstairs a few months before I move and begin acting like there is noise and whatnot everyday. Had a friend over and she literally walked from outside to inside the apartment and the downstairs tenants banged on the ceiling. I told her yeah this is what Ive been dealing with. She was appalled. Several times they have banged on the ceiling and there has been no noise to speak of. The troubling part is, I put in an application for another residence, well the property manager sends in a rental verification apparently issuing a negative review by stating "condition of property." Dont know what that means but I can only surmise is that I had a trash can on the balcony. Hadnt even turned over the unit at the time of submitting application for them to even declare such a thing. I later inquired about it with the assistant property manager and no one had a clue about it despite the prospective rental property stating exactly why my application was denied. Thus, I had to commence looking for another place, however requested time to find a place due to the circumstances. Was told to pay rent and they would discuss with regional management. Secured a money order as directed and when I went to pay the rent, was told to hold it, she hadnt received word from regional, but would call me later that afternoon to discuss further. Next day, I get an eviction notice for, guess what..... "Non-payment of rent". Laughable. I've never had trouble with any place I have lived until now and to say this all began behind a toy dog is ridiculous. Update: Received a Final Account Statement. Laughable. Indicates I owe virtually $2000 for what is legally known as normal wear and tear. Supposedly had to change carpet and repaint the whole apartment. What a joke.
