Oswego is a bustling village just south of Aurora on the banks of the Fox River. Perched on the southwestern edge of the Greater Chicago region, residents of Oswego enjoy a healthy balance of easy access to the big city and the low-key lifestyle of the suburbs. With its peaceful neighborhoods, superb schools, and plenty of single-family homes in the local rental market, Oswego is a popular choice among many renters.
The village’s landscape is split between a thriving retail and residential scene. A cluster of shopping centers are placed along Walter Payton Memorial Highway while residential avenues fill the remaining area. The adjacent cities of Aurora and Naperville offer more options for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Property Ratings at The Reserve at Hudson Crossing
The staff is friendly and helpful. The area is clean. The apartments are up to date and maintained. Work orders are answered timely and completed within a reasonable timeframe.
Current resident here! Pros- Very clean complex. The entire complex is very nicely maintained. Hallways smell fresh and clean which is very nice. -Pool is very clean and the areas outside are very comfortable and inviting. The propane fire pits are nice to read a book by. There are nice grills to use too and a gym that has nice amenities in it. -Easy access to the river walk and library in town given the prime location of this complex. -Office staff sincerely cares about the happiness and wellbeing of the tenants here. You are treated like a human being here and with compassion. -Maintenance, although I have rarely ever had to use- is fantastic. They are knowledgeable in their trade and do great quality work. -Quality of units are very good. Compared to the other complexes with the same amenities the price point is very fair in comparison. Gas stove and in unit washer and dryer are nice perks. The refrigerator has an ice maker inside the freezer. -Parking garage is climate controlled. You will not have to warm up your car or scrape snow off it. Additional thoughts- I noticed others commenting about the train and trash in previous reviews. Here is my honest take. I have only heard the train faintly in the time I've lived here. And when I say faint it's barely noticeable inside the complex. By law the train has to toot its horn when passing through any town. But rest assured to those that may be worried about it, it's really not that noticeable. I am sensitive to loud noises and this was definitely not one of them that caused any discomfort. Trash chute- there is a trash valet service here. It is a very nice benefit. If you time if right, you won't ever have to use the trash chute. And if you do use the chute, the rooms are not filled with trash and are not reeking of bad smells. I've always had easy access to get to them in the case I need to use them. I have only seen a few bags directly outside the trash chute flap door on rare occasions, and that's only on a holiday usually. -Overall- 5/5 stars.
This is my honest review! We are going on 4 years of living here and it has always been nice and clean. We do have a pool during the summer, a gym and a club house. All are nice and convenient. All the neighbors that we do see, are friendly and a decent range of ages. There is a parking garage(that is owned by the city of Oswego). We do have a great property manager, Kelly and she does all she can to help and truly cares about the residents.
I’ve been a resident since 2021 and love living at The Reserve. The staff is wonderful, the maintenance team is prompt and the neighbors on my floor are pretty quiet. The building is clean which is a huge thing for me. My only complaint is the mail and package set up. We don’t have a door person so the packages are laying out in the lobby. I would prefer that we had a door person in the front of the building. Yes, the rent prices may increase but for someone who lives alone, I would feel more safe. Overall, The Reserve is a nice luxury apartment option.
Overall it’s a nice place to live. The building is surprisingly quiet considering there are so many people that live here. Decent fitness room, lounge area, great location if you like the Oswego area. I’d recommend.
The Reserve is a great place to live! The apartment building is clean and quiet. The maintenance team is very helpful and they respond quickly to any needs. The downtown amenities are excellent and everything is within walking distance. I highly recommend living at the Reserve!
The staff is great to deal with - always very friendly and accommodating. The location is very convenient and they are pet friendly! The amenities are great and the property is kept very clean!
Very comfortable place to live, the property is well taken care of & having maintenance available to us is great!!
The Reserve at Hudson Crossing is a fantastic blend of luxury living with the natural beauty of the Fox River and Oswego Park Lands. The complex has all the amenities including private pool, grills, heated garage and coffee shop. Karina is very accommodating and helpful in the Leasing office. She and her team also decorate and plan amzing community events for the tenants.
Very nice property that far surpasses any other options I evaluated in this area. Have been here for a year and did not hesitate to renew my lease.
From the staff to the facility itself, I can not say enough lovely things. Everything is kept very clean and organized. It feels like living in a hotel. Pets are welcomed and enjoyed, not to mention your backyard is a park! Highly recommend.
The Reserve at Hudson Crossing is not only in a perfect location, but is filled with friendly residents (and lots of pups too)! The maintenance staff and leasing agents are very helpful and attentive to my requests. I love being able to jump on the walking trail, shop at the local boutiques or meet a friend for dinner and drinks, all on foot. Overall, I’m very pleased with everything that RHC has to offer. Oh and the pool is a HUGE plus in the summer. Private, clean and a fun place to meet new people!
I have been in my apartment since July of 2021. I LOVE being able to use the pool on a daily basis and having a workout facility is nice when I can't get to the gym. On occasion when something needs attention the management works in an efficient manner to take care of the situation. It is a great location for many reasons. It is right downtown, walking distance to many of the parks and businesses in O-Town!!
Since living here 2+ years and being one of the first to move in. My fiancé and I really do enjoy our time living in this building. Being close to parks and beautiful walks is really nice. The building is clean, staff is friendly, courtyard and other amenities are really nice. Our experience here has been great and we recommend it to everyone looking for a great and busy place to live!
5 star apartment 5 star view 5 star pool 5 star lounge area 5 star gym & 5 star service from management Great area nice neighbors and good experiences Lived here for 3 going on 4 years and I have been happy.
I have lived here for 3 years now and have been very happy. Located in the middle of downtown Oswego makes it very convenient to walk to many different shops and restaurants. The pool and workout facility on-site are excellent as well. The property is very modern as well as pet friendly. I have always felt at home here.
Everyone is here is so friendly, so easy to meet new people. There’s many building events, a nice coffee shop, and more!
Living downtown and part of the community, Next to the Fox River, Across from the taphouse restaurant, Many shops, Walking paths and Beautiful surroundings. Apartments are spacious, Wonderful efficient layout, Updated appliances electrical and construction, Event room beautiful pool and outdoor seating/grills/fire pits. Spacious heated parking garage, Elevators, Wonderful maintenance staff and leasing office staff….. Stop by take a look and ask for Karina….
I sent an email at the beginning of this month, inquiring about scheduling an appointment for a tour of an available unit that was listed. I never received a response. Naturally, I sent a follow up email but again, I received no response. It was one of the properties at the top of my list and the lack of communication, even if there were no available units, was disappointing!
Great location to walk and dine. Very dog friendly. Friendly neighbors...awesome pool. Coffee Shop, Winery, Brewery and bar right in your back yard with a quick short walk. Also great restaurants and shops in a short distance walk.
I’ve lived here since these apartments were completed. Beautiful units, unique building design, open air pool in the middle, great workout facility and overall awesome amenities. Being in the downtown area next to ALL the things is a huge perk.
The location alone is worth the price! Very dog friendly and you can easily walk to restaurants and shops. Management is great at fixing things and very on top of building codes and safety.
We love living here! It's a terrific location, the apartments are really nice, the pool and the community room are great, and Sarah and the staff are kind and responsive.
I’ve been here for a year and absolutely love it. Other than a beautiful area, I feel safe being here. Also I always know I can count on the staff in the building for any questions or concerns, very attentive and helpful!
Very clean, beautiful views, quiet, managment is wonderful. Amenities are abundant! Great place to live!
Excellent Management, clean building, wonderful amenities, very nice neighbors
The apartments are nice so is the workout room, the lounge and pool. Things to ALWAYS keep clean are the garbage chute rooms. They are filled with trash all the time and smell. The elevators don’t get cleaned and smell bad too. The kitchen facet and sink are small and suck! The property manager Sarah is good but she should fix these things asap to make the building get a better review.
Sarah, the property manager, is amazing! She answers to any questions or concerns promptly and she truly cares about her residents’ comfort and quality of living. She is so kind and thoughtful and makes an effort to know her residents and build great rapport. The building is always clean, pool, lounge, and fitness area included. I also really like the location of the building as the community always felt safe and their are some beautiful views on the river at sunrise/sunset. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
The building is supposed to house 200+ people. I don’t think it’s close to that and there is trash in the garbage room daily. People just throw their boxes in the room. If you stare at the walls in the hall you can see how the painters missed spots (mental note, do not buy a house from this builder). Because we are by the river there are dead gnats in stairwells and halls and by doors. I can’t blame the property manager for this. I can however blame her for stepping over them day after day and not doing anything. A dog peed on the carpet in the hall Stairway. Weeks ago. It’s still there. Why am I taking the stairs you ask? There is one working elevator right now for the building. That’s one elevator for the residents that live here and the ones moving in every weekend. Good luck grocery shopping and getting your bags to your apartment. When will the other elevator be fixed? I don’t know, there is no communication from the management. Well, unless you count the notes we find on our doors, talking to us like children and telling us they are going to limit the amount of guests we can bring to the pool unless we behave. This week it was about someone removing part of the fencing in the pool area because the fence was locked, and they wanted to use the pool. Seriously? This is the kind of people who live here. People who break pool sticks in half, skateboard down the halls and leave garbage piled up in the garbage room. Let’s see…what else. Oh, we aren’t guaranteed a packing spot in the parking garage. Shodeen is the builder. They have other properties. The property manger in Oswego lives at one of their properties in Geneva. How do I know? She left a very flattering review on that buildings website while she was working here. I assume to inflate that buildings score. The manager is clearly out of her league. This is her first appartment managing job. A brand new building, that was still being built while people were moving in. There were constant issues, still are, and this was not the place to place an inexperienced manager. When you are on your balcony the air conditioning unit is so loud you can’t here the person next to you. If you face the pool you have the luxury of listening to that noise. If you face the outside you get the luxury of the trains and skate boarders. If you do tour the building keep your eyes open. Is it a luxury apartment? No. Anyone who thinks it is hasn’t experienced luxury.
There are a lot of amenities that make this place very appealing, however, they aren’t maintained as they should be. There’s a shuffleboard table with no sand, a Starbucks coffee machine that dispenses basically just water at this point, and half the pool cues were broken and never replaced. In addition to this, there are typically two trains that come at night (usually at 9:30 and midnight) which honk their horns and it’s LOUD. It literally shakes items in my apartment and wakes me up at night quite often. The apartments themselves are beautiful and very modern. I haven’t had much of a problem with hearing people through the walls and the property manager Sarah is very helpful. If the amenities were better maintained and the train stopped honking and night this would be a five star spot!
