Borrowing its name from the shopping plaza it surrounds, the Patterson Place neighborhood extends south along I-40 from Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard. Heavily wooded with plenty of open green space, this neighborhood feels somewhat rural -- but it is only about eight miles southwest of Downtown Durham and roughly three miles northeast of Downtown Chapel Hill. Residents can commute from Patterson Place easily to Research Triangle Park, less than 15 minutes away.
The Patterson Place shopping plaza provides everything residents need, from groceries at Kroger to shoes at DSW to pet supplies at PetSmart. Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard is lined with shops and restaurants, and the popular Southpoint Mall is a few minutes south, providing a wide selection of stores, restaurants, and a movie theater.

Property Ratings at The Reserve at Patterson Place
I waited a couple months to write my review of this place. I was initially drawn in by the beautiful amenities and the seemingly really supportive management. Upon move-in I was welcomed to dead roaches throughout the halls and stained carpets. In addition, within the first week I was able to hear all my upstairs neighbors footsteps to the point where I wanted to transferring units. I tried to speak to them and in response to trying to reason they would purposely stomp through out their unit - you can here every single foot step they take. When you are walking in the hallways you can feel the shaking from the people walking/living above. Resident have told me they have to listen to noise machines to be able to able to sleep at times. When you are in your bedroom you'll be able to hear your next door neighbor talk on the phone and enjoy the music that they are listening to. I was told by management I would have to pay a $1,000 transfer fee. When I tried to appeal to regional management I did not hear back for a month. When I went in person to follow-up they had not even reached out to regional about the issue. The property managers are really supportive and nice... until you have a problem. There are a few nice staff which I appreciate however nice doesn't help when you have a problem. In addition, my electricity constantly short-circuits and my power goes out in portions of my apartment. If I didn't know how to reset my own breakers, I'd constantly be in the dark. If you are a young professional that works, needs a quiet environment or even are moving with a family and desire a tranquil environment, I would avoid this place. On the positive side maintenance is responsive where they can be for issues that they are able to resolve. Overall, I really wish I would've taken heed to the comments that I read on here and I could've avoided this situation. I will definitely be leaving this complex when my lease is up.

This place is great. nice apartments, nice amenities, fairly clean. honestly you are not going to get a better place for the price. However, the staff has had a lot of turnover and they have gotten unfriendlier as they have changed over. this is a nonsmoking community yet there are still plenty of smokers of tobacco and marijuana that staff does nothing about the noise levels are also not managed well. the walls are thin - do yourself a favor and don't live the near the pool.
RPP is an excellent community that I would recommend to anyone.

Moving in the Reserve has been a great experience! We have had great experiences with the staff and they are always helpful and friendly. The location is amazing, close to everything without being in the thick of things. The ammenities are great and the community is nice.

I have loved living at the Reserve at Patterson Place! As a law student doing my classes from home, it has been the best work from home environment, where I can use the study areas in the clubhouse, study at the outside tables when it's nice, or just stay home and enjoy the great natural lighting that comes in through my windows and brightens any day!
I have enjoyed living here and it was an easy process to get moved in!

Ive been living here for 2 weeks now and its been great, so far. They have a very nice management, the apartment complex is great, my unit is gorgeous, and the area is excellent with shops and restaurants that are walking distance. It is also very quiet. If you hate the train and the traffic noise, this is your place.
Absolutely wonderful experience from first phone contact and tour, to move in and ongoing communication and support. The Reserve really is ... who they say they are.
Great place to stay, just be mindful of your volume because the walls are thin.
Between the sales and maintenance team, they are just awesome! It really makes the difference with our experience at the Reserve. We really enjoy the amenities and the proximity to work and all the fun.

Solis at Patterson Place is probably in my top two complexes I have ever lived at. The staff is super friendly and care for me as an individual. During these tough few months of the pandemic they have gone above and beyond helping us not feel trapped. Having the complex right next to a park and hiking trail has been wonderful for my mental health. It's a safe area to walk at all times of the day.
Moving cross country is already difficult, but doing so during a pandemic makes it much harder. Working with the Solis Patterson leasing office was the easiest thing out of all of it, and move-in day was smooth and easy once we actually got here. We have been very happy with our experience so far. We can tell that without the pandemic, Solis Patterson would also be an active community with lots to do together. As young professionals, it's really the perfect place for us to live and commute from!
Living here has been a blessing. The entire staff are always attentive. I hope these wonderful people remain at this property.

Living here has been great so far! The grounds are clean and well maintained, the amenities are excellent, and the staff is quick to respond and communicates well with residents. The apartment is lit up well at night which makes it feel very safe.

This apartment complex is amazing with a great staff, awesome amenities, and nice people. Its a quiet area but close to everything including Chapel Hill, Southpoint, Highway 40.

Moved in three weeks ago and love the apartment, the amenities and the sense of community that is developing. Very quiet so far, dog has met some friends, Amazon deliveries are a breeze, valet trash pickup is a welcome feature.

Solis is absolutely incredible. The location is perfect, especially if you are new to the area/relocating from out of state. You're literally close to everything you possibly need like groceries and gas and even the mall is only a few minutes away. The apartment layouts are so beautiful and homey and the appliances are such high quality. The staff are all so kind and readily available. They make you feel like a priority even after you move in. The events they host are so great and everyone is so welcoming. Can't recommend Solis Patterson Place enough!!!!
I am extremely happy to have made the decision to call Solis Patterson Place my home. The apartment homes are clean, high quality, and are designed in a way that allows for one to feel comfortable and at ease when coming home at the days end. Management and staff have made me feel like a welcomed and valued member of the community from the beginning; they are genuinely pleasant people, attentive, and even have provided thoughtful tokens of appreciation. I really feel fortunate to be here and recommend Solis Patterson Place without a doubt.
