I never write reviews because the seem like a waste of time and energy. Do not move here. I've been one month, and it's been terrible. I should have seen the sign from the start but I needed a place to live, I'm on a budget and everything is more expensive. My issues started before I signed when I had question about the lease, I had called the leasing office several times, left voicemails and no answers. I've even emailed the two leasing ladies and they never respond. First rule of any good business, communication!! I can deal with that but here comes my actual problem. My buildings foundation is sinking into the ground, we had a rainstorm over the weekend (4/27-4/28). The morning of the 28th I woke to water in my unit, logically I looked at the windows or front door to see if that's where it came in. Then I checked the bathroom. Water didn't enter through a gap or a broken pipe. It came UP from the ground. I took picture, I reported it on the maintenance line and web portal. First thing Monday morning I went to the leasing office to talk to the assistant, I told her the situation and she immediately said of it's foundation we can have the foundation guys to come back and lift the building. The problem with that is, the foundation repair came a few weeks ago and couldn't do anything. She took my report and passed it to the property manager with no sense of care or urgency, more like they were upset I was there first thing in the morning. That same Monday I come home and the apartment smells humid and like water, it still does today. My guess is that water is still in walls and I'm really hoping there is no mold growing in the walls. A few days later that same week on 5/1 I come home and I have to use the bathroom. I notice the top of my toilet it wet, I look up and there's water coming down from the bathroom vent. Water is all on the ground and water in the wall. I called the maintenance emergency line and no answer, created a request online. Let's see how long they take to come, noted I created a maintenance report when I first moved about a leaking kitchen sink pipe and they never came, I had to tighten it myself so that the floor board doesn't get worse. Tonight and the few days it's supposed to rain, I'm predicting water will go into my unit again. They don't care here, if these water issues continue, I will contact my lawyer due to their negligence. I'm not trying to be a problem, I just want to come home to enjoy my space and peace.

I have been living at the residence on Lamar for about a year. I have called the office multiple times requesting maintenance on my ceiling which leaks dirty water on my kitchen floor. I have a hard time cooking in there because I never know when the ceiling will leak on my head. There is a large gap in top of my front door and insects crawl through I have not had hot water in my kitchen sink since moved into my apartment. I went to the office and called the office today to see if I can meet with the manager. The front desk told me the manager has went home for the day and had no idea when she will be back and could not set up a appointment for me to meet with her. I asked her how I could get in contact with the owners , she gave me a card with the office managers email on it and told me to send a email. I'm currently researching my options to see what my rights are.

My moving day was horrific ! I was told my unit was ready upon arriving to pick up my keys . When I e entered the unit it was still being cleaned , toilet not in tact at all. Unit was in reality not ready to be moved into at all ! They change their payment policy for rent and, never communicated it. Definitely not renewing my lease after my 6 months .

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Over the 3 years we were there, the apartment complex changed management companies upwards of 5 times. There were multiple shoot-outs, people's cars being broken into, and vandalism of personal property. Both of our vehicles had been scratched and written on with permanent markers. In our unit specifically, we hardly ever needed maintenance to assist, however, when our sink fell out from under the counter (it was held up with cardboard and glue, no brackets), it took management 3 days to come in and screw boards into the cabinet for the sink to rest on. Only half of the outlets held a plug and when we had maintenance come in to fix them, they said they were working fine. We had windows that would not stay open and one was broken from the outside and maintenance closed the work order without fixing the window. On a smaller note, the TWO pools on the property were not operational for the entire 3 years we lived there. Now that we've moved out we've had nothing but difficulty receiving our deposit back. When we received the itemized list of deductions there was a reletting fee of $140. When I spoke with the office, they claimed it was because we turned in our keys 4 days prior to our lease ending, but that was nowhere in the lease as unacceptable. Once contacting cooperate, they were able to determine this charge was a mistake and that we would be receiving the amount back with the rest of our deposit. We moved out on 3/31 and we have STILL not received that $140 and the management team will not return voicemails or emails. Overall, it was absolutely miserable living here and I hope you take your money and family elsewhere.

The newest tenants here are roaches of all sizes, ants, and random flying bugs! We get tadpoles twice year because they play stupid (or really are that dumb) and claim they don't know about the water leak. My AC was out and it was 83 degrees in my apartment and that rude receptionist or leasing agent or whatever she is told me well ERCOT said not to lower it, may they did a rolling black out on you. YET the office was cool as could be. There is dog poop everywhere, some bigger than my child's head. It is disgusting. There are shootings all the time here too. Takes "home" to a new meaning.
Complex has lots of potential however it all starts with management and how things are ran at the property. There must be action taken place to deal with the roaches, maintenance request and delivering exceptional customer service to every tenant.
No maintenance has been done though several have are health/safety issues. Management has no concept of loyalty to residents and expends their maintenance resources on potential resident occupancy. I've experienced the WORST rental experience in my life under Greystar management.

This has been one of the worst complexes I’ve lived in. I’ve never had so many unresolved issues living in a apt. This complex has foundation issues along with lack of management that even cares about their residence. This has been the worst 9 months of my life
It’s pretty awful!! If you like derelict, infested apartments with a fresh coat of paint and appliances, welcome home!!
The service at this community is terrible. I have put in too many requests and none of them have been completed and it’s been over a month. When I moved into my apartment there were no lightbulbs I had to purchase them on my own because I was told they were not a priority. My doors were painted shut and I had to pry them open. There were a number of other issues as well. If I didn’t have to find a place to live so quickly I would have moved elsewhere.

I’ve only been here for a short time. And me just being able to tour my unit was an exhausting process. I was finally able to view the unit the day I was moving in at that point I had no other choice. So I hope with this new management there will be more accountability and team members taking ownership of the residents concerns and issues. Or at the very least acknowledge Your residence concerns

this place is infested with roaches, bedbugs, and carpenter ants.( just as bad as termites) The people in the office are rude and nonchalant about any concerns you may have. Rent goes up three times while staying here. the foundation is trash. my flooring was caving in I had to threaten to get an inspector and sue just to get them to repair anything. holes in the ceilings and around windows and doors. We paid for bedbug treatments which cost 400.00 plus rest grand total 1,498.00 that month....

After 3 years of living here, I couldn’t be happier to leave! Horrible complex with an even worse Customer service!! DON’T be fooled by the outside, this complex is not worth your money. There are plenty of complexes in the area worth your time!!

I have been living in this apartment complex since January 2020. A week after I moved in, my apartment was broken into and my gun was stolen. I am a single mom in the military with 3 years of service, with a toddler with no other protection. I filed a report with the police and with the apartment complex. They told me they could not do anything even though I feared for my life and my son’s. I requested to be moved into another unit and I even offered to pay extra just to move and they told me no they could not help. The manager didn’t even attempt to try and help. They gave me their manager’s number, which I have been calling and calling. I also left voicemails but this man still has not responded. Now here it is MAY, and they still are not trying to help. My apartment has also had many maintenance problems that they either still have not come to fix or denied my requests. For instance, my garbage disposal had stopped working. It’ll not sure exactly what was wrong but it would clog and it smelled like something had died in the sink. I never use the garbage disposal so I requested for maintenance to come and look at it and they denied my request. Even though my house smelled horrible. The locks and handles on my front and back doors were missing screws and I also requested maintenance to come look at it, and it took them two weeks to come out. The handles were so loose, my son could pull and open the door without force. Another thing is, my ceiling fan was literally hanging by the wire in my son’s play room and it took them also another two weeks to come and fix it. They claim they did not have any requests, but I called multiple times and submitted multiple requests to get it fixed. That is very dangerous because that could fall on my child. They did not show any effort to help me out. Also my apartment became infected with roaches. Never in my life have I ever lived with roaches and this is a big deal. I’ve seen at least 5 in the last week. I finally reported it to my apartment complex, and I also requested for someone to come out and spray for bugs and they denied my request saying it was non-essential. I do believe that this is essential but these are roaches in a home where we have to lay our heads. There have been roaches crawling on my ceilings, walls, bathroom sink, bathtub, toilet area, and also in my son’s bed! I have reported this many times. I requested again to move units and they denied my request without trying to compromise with me
Apartments are supper old, my ac doesn’t work, my oven doesn’t work, I reported roaches etc etc I been living here for five months and for me was a HUGE mistake!
I moved into this place one week ago, I was not shown the unit I would be living in at the time of my first visit. My neighbor has a fenced back area for his dog and does NOT clean up after his dog. The entire back half of my apartment smells like dog crap. For what it costs to live here I shouldn’t be inhaling toxic dog crap fumes every time I want to go outside. Management has done nothing about this and now I’m stuck smelling dog crap for a year. The staff is nice and the units are nice. Make sure to be shown that unit you will be in when you visit and know they can’t do anything about terrible neighbors.
This is the only establishment I’ve ever written a bad review about. They make the apartments look nice but everything inside is cheap and breaks easily. I had to move units due to a pest control issue and it took three months of me trying to get a hold of management for anything to be done. Three months. There were cockroaches literally crawling out of the vents, bathtub drain, and on my bed when I moved in. In one day I killed 18 cockroaches in my one bedroom apartment. Maintenance is really helpful but the main office has so much turn over and Seems like they get zero training that nothing gets done. Every time I go in there’s a different person at the front desk and they say they’ll get your issue fixed but literally nothing happens. Save yourself the trouble, for real. I still have 6 months on my lease and I’m truly counting down the days. Oh yeah, my bathtub and toilet overflowed legitimately out of nowhere last weekend and there was water all over the bathroom floor but none of their emergency numbers they have posted work ?? don’t know why I was surprised.
I just woke up and saw 2 ?? ?? in the kitchen, they promised they will give me a clean appartemnt , mold comming out of the ac exhale tunnel, cabinets has mold and they are just painted to fool u, floor is a plastic woody looking with tons of paint! Toilet tilts when u need to use it, missing shelves and plates in both microwave and refigitaror and many more issues... dont move here u get sick and u loose ur job!!! I ha8 my life since i been here
This complex is by far the worst complex I’ve lived in. Management lies about EVERYTHING if it’s not Selena don’t deal with them it’s pointless!!! even on my move in date I had to wait 5 hours because management lied to me. Maintenance will half fix all your request and yet I’ve put in 5 request for the same thing and no one has come to take care of it 3 months later even though they keep telling me they have. My car was broken into the week of Christmas. Just save your $$ and go somewhere where they’ll appreciate you for what you pay! I CAN NOT WAIT TO MOVE!!!!
I have been here 6 months now and this is my first apartment. The staff treated me great even though I had a million questions to ask about anything and everything.They even gave me a discount for being a student. I live in a loft which is enormous. The colors and renovations are awesome. I only have one neighbor and we get along great.
I promise every good review about this apartment is fake. The apartment is extremely over priced for what you get. Maintenance orders never get handled in a timely manner, if they get handled at all. The office closes whenever they feel like. Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional and you can't go to anyone about it because the whole company is crooked.
People in the office are in and out all of the time and never take the time to call their tenants (or like me a was going to be future tenant) to let them know. I haven't even moved in and its already a nightmare. DON'T DO IT... I read that a woman got robbed twice in one week. It says its gated but its not. They don't have any closing gates for security but one gate and they don't even close it i found out. I overpaid on the online application. I couldn't get ahold of the office to ask questions regarding the balance i owed so being a first time renter i had a lack of knowledge and was scared that i would lose my apartment i wanted so i paid $745.00 when apparently i was only supposed to pay $340.00. I found out that the lady who assisted me (whom no longer worked there after i called about the $745.00)assigned me an apartment that was already leased to someone else so i would have to get another. After finding another one that would work for me i was happy...until i found out that there was a switch hold on the electric meter. I was told the assistant manage who helped me find my other apartment had also left so i wanted to speak the manager about the issue instead of the new assistant manage who i couldn't even understand on the phone. I was told she would call me back but i never got a phone call from them. I finally decided to go back online and look to see if there were any new reviews on the Residence on lamar. There were so many new complaints about the management and maintenance and then the lady who got robbed 2X in one weak due to a lack of her windows being broken just within the past month. I decided to save myself feature headache and get the money that i overpaid back. Id rather pay a little more for a secure community and the peace of mind that i can come home without worrying if I'm going to get mugged.
This is a HORRIBLE apartment complex to live in. Management changes OFTEN, it's extremely pricey and the renovations are not worth what they are charging. Rent and other extra charges increase often as well. They'll tell you one price but the bill is a totally higher price. They are ripping tenants off with the water bill. It's not a safe community for a family. There were several break-ins and vandalisms and that's with security. They won't install camera's and recently put up more lighting but it didn't help the crime. Cameras were installed around the new fitness center, because that's their belongings. The pest problem is horrible but you have to pay for pest control. The apartment I lived in had a very bad ant and rat problem before I moved in. Nothing was done until I threaten to sue because I had a newborn and pest informed me that if the child was bitten, it could be deadly. They expect tenants to pay the pricey rent on time but they don't want to do their part or be held accountable. PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE RENOVATIONS. They are constantly having water issues. Your water will be turned off for an extended period of time and wo notice. That happens a lot. You may not have hot water and they will not get in a rush to fix the problem. Office staff is rude and there are new faces all the time. Please don't be their next victim. Ask other tenants how they like it and how they are treated.
I leased for a year and I loved it , my very first apartment complex I've lived at and my experience was great the office people are very nice !
Just save yourself the time. The "Resident on Lamar" are a waste of time and a lot money horrible everything.
I love this place,I have lived here over 6 years but I recently had to move bcs I had to relocate for school, my lease ends in September but the manager was kind enough to stretch it to end of October because my new apt was gonna be ready in October, kind management, great maintenance and a lot of great changes!
